👍👍👍 JJ, you and Skyler Fire combined, the best 2 hours 10 minutes 49 seconds, other than Church this morning, the 2 of you are the most productive of my time today.
I swear your channel is the firefighting version of the old COPS show... Just better, and not full of scripted stuff. Every video of yours that pops up is instant watch when i see it.
John you never cease to amaze me at the coverage you get. It's almost like your on the front line yourself even though your back out of the way. I've seen a lot of fire coverage on TH-cam and your coverage is by far the best as you get all the best angles. Keep bringing the videos but most importantly stay safe out there.
Always amazed how you get to another building and get the”best footage “ you must know New York inside out. I have been watching your videos for a while now and I am always amazed how they fight fires in a strategic plan of attack. Great video, keep safe 🙏🏻🇦🇺🏅
Thanks for the amazing coverage John. This fire refused to quit. They would hit it in one spot and it would pop out in another. The engine men did an outstanding job. And the members in buckets 119 and 146 ripping the siding off by hand! Another tremendous job by the FDNY.
Amazing how quick NYFD knocks down a fire once equipment and members are in place & setup. Looks like this building was all wood great coverage john thank you
I hope everyone is ok! I just moved to the area and that was my new pharmacy on the first floor! So sad and scary. But it never ceases to amaze me how truly great our FDNY is! I think we have the amongst the best FD in the country! Thank you!
One of the best? No, THE best! The FDNY's gotta be the best because of all the wooden tenements right hard next to each other. 😮 And I'm saying this as a non-New Yorker.
Great video. Miss your commentary, though. Great job by the FDNY! It sure looked to me that the fire was likely to spread further down the block. Blessings to all and stay safe and warm. ❤❤🚒🚒
Great video. Guess NYC is heading back to the “War Years”. Awesome video. Takes me back to my buffing days with FDNY. Trivia Ladders 14 in Harlem and 119 were the only two 100 foot Sutphen tower ladders in FDNY. Both Sutphen’s had 1000 gpm pumps installed, however, neither rigs used the pumps during their life in NYC. This was due to UFA and UFOA agreements. To use the pumps required a MPO (Motorized Pump Operator) known today as Engine Company Chauffeurs (ECC) this would have required FDNY to add one additional firefighter (ECC) to be assigned for each tour. Due to budget restraints FDNY did not assign on to these two rigs. Miss those jobs in the Big Apple. Take care, keep warm and stay hydrated. Regards Joe.
THANKS SO MUCH JOE FOR ALL THAT GREAT HISTORY.....I WISH I WAS A BUFF BACK THEN IN THOSE YEARS.....I WOULD SEE THE FIRES WHILE GOING TO SCHOOL AS WAS ABOUT 13 OR 14.....AND YES, I HEAR YA, NYC IS HEADING BACK TO THE 'WAR YEARS' FOR SURE.....GLAD YOU ENJOYED THE VIDEO.....
JOHN, you’re the best. I always look forward to your videos cause no one else covers it like you and God bless you and our New York Fire Department you guys are our saviors.
Wow this is a Horrible Fire 🔥 , Prayers 🙏 for all involved.. God Bless FDNY awesome job in the cold.. Thanks JJ great camera angles, be safe stay warm...
Thanks for all you do John. That was crazy with fire out of all the top floor windows for a while. I'm surprised any roof was left to collapse. You need a pair of fire boots. I got a good pair off EBay. Wet feet never good. Stay safe.🚒🇺🇸
John this was great coverage I have been following you for years now and I never saw so many ground ladders utilized truck 111 that was a badass move by the chauffeur to park it on the sidewalk that fire was blowing out of six windows 1:01:34 and it looks like it got into the cockloft!!! Great to see Chief Moore haven’t seen him in sometime now great job by the members on this cold night going to finish this up 2N2 my brother 1:04:08 As Capt Man-Hatton would say Outstanding job❤️ 1:07:23
WELL, THIS WAS A VERY QUICK MOVING AND DIFFICULT FIRE TO FIGHT DUE TO MANY REASONS INCLUDING THE WEATHER RUSH.....AND YES IT WAS NICE TO SEE CHIEF MOORE.....HE IS A GREAT CHIEF AND PERSON AND I SAW HIM AGAIN TODAY AT THE 3RD ALARM ON 91ST STREET......THANKS SO MUCH RUSH.....
JJ getting out for Crooklyn. Nice ! Spent alot of overtime on that side of the subway, between the high school kids fighting during the train rides home and the Xmas holiday post, always loved that station and area.
I don’t think that alot of people realize how extremely cold itnods now no NYC… the other day I was afraid to even go out to my mail box…. And these guys are fighting fires pouring massive amounts of cold water in extreme conditions…. God love the NYFD
Thanks, JJ, for a great video> Citizen App was spectacular but lacked any insight into FDNY response. Happy you got on the scene. Extension to yellow building (exp 2) seemed obvious but not a priority ? I am a total amateur so what do I know. Thanks for bringing some explanation to this situation.
1:22, Chief Moore, makes a joke everytime, just what you need is a comedian on the fire ground.. great video mate, thank you, stay safe mate. Good job by the FDNY
For the love of FDNY people plz stop putting plastic siding on old buildings! Very sad when people do that...John great footage as always my friend! Props to ya!
Has anyone else noticed the Angel like shapes in the two windows followed by someone wearing a red devil hat walking behind the fire officer about 8 mins into the video. Bizzare!!! FDNY best there is! ❤🚒🚒🚒
TL 111 is taking a chance. That sidewalk could be vaulted to the curb. Next stop basement. Some buildings still have coal rooms. Where the coal delivery would be at the curbline. Years after, the owner would cement the cover at the curb line
Who was that officer who insisted that they stay on the top floor to fight in opposition to the chief who wanted to pull everyone out? Usually opposing chiefs doesn’t go well but it worked out this time.
I wish I could meet you and show you how to dress for these events in winter. I worked in extreme conditions outdoors my whole life. Never had wet feet or freezing extremities. It doesn't take much to keep warm if you know how. Not critizam, just fact.
As someone who isn’t from New York, on these major alarm fires do companies from different Burroughs respond or does each Burroughs stay in their area?
THEY COME FROM ALL BOROUGHS IF AND WHEN NEEDED.....BUT MOSTLY FOR SMALLER FIRES THEY STICK TO THE COMPANIES IN THIER OWN DISTRICTS.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
So sad to see such a destructive fire. This fire is one where the Tower Ladders were needed. My department in Glenn Dale MD in Prince George's County purchased & operated a Sutphen Tower Ladder in 1970. Again it is sad when the Towers have to be used, because by that time there has usually been extensive fire damage.
Hello John. Hope you are good? I have one question to you. Why don’t the members use there airpack? They expose there self for so much smoke and it’s not great smoke. In Sweden 🇸🇪 I never see a member on a car fire 🔥 o on a fire whiteout the airpack. Thank for a great video again and say hello to skyler fire🤣. Best reagards from Sweden 🇸🇪😎😎
@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 You're welcome. The community must be heartbroken about the destroyed homes and businesses. Grateful to live in a city with such wonderful first responders. My coworker's husband had a life threatening emergency 2 weeks ago. The firehouse and EMTs in Williamsburg got to him super quickly and along with a surgeon, nurses, etc helped to save his life.
Lack of city maintenance. Hydrants need to be burped kinda thing. Release pressure let it flow sometimes. When you see hydrants flowing out water that’s called due diligence.
@@belle190 Thanks and that sucks... Idk how it goes in the USA, our firetrucks all carry water so they can get water on the fire within 30 seconds of arriving. Meanwhile searching for a hydrant to get a supply again.
morning brother John...and the award for box 0155 goes to the members of....TL 111..for their "what ever it takes attitude"..operating off the sidewalk...no shit..WELL DONE
The only FDNY coverage to watch on TH-cam is right here! Thank you for braving the weather to always bring the best videos!!
