Halsin always made it clear that he doesn’t want to stay in the city, and I did agree with him on his view about Baldur’s Gate, that’s essentially the lore. So I thought it would be nice to basically have a van life with him after getting rid of our tadpole.
you can with some endings. the spawn astarion ending gives you the option to tell him all you want to do is retire and live a peaceful life and he's down. he says something along the lines of 'knowing you, you'll make even that an adventure and trouble always seems to find us so it's not like it would be boring.' pretty sweet even though the ideal end is telling him that you both should lead the vampire spawn and keep them safe in the underdark. Don't know about the others though. Only really did the Astarion good end.
The fact that you cannot go with Halsin and help him achieve his dream is criminal. I would follow that man to the depths of Avernus if he asked. I know he would never, but the point remains. Imagining a life with him where you spend your days tending to the needs of those who you spent all that time saving. Establishing a place where the weary and tired are able to rest and heal and grow. Its a tiny tiny part of Faerun but it could be a paradise and haven. And you and Halsin run it and lead it and remain a savior and protector of those who need you. Its a perfect end for the "hero" Tav.
That was exactly what I wanted! My Tav is also a druid and she already acts like everyone's mom, I so much want her to end up with Halsin, momma and pappa bears tending to the children and those in need (and putting up a hell of a fight if someone dares defile their land!) This is so bittersweet I think I have no choice but to headcanon my happy ending.
I love hearing everyones headcanons. Its one of my favorite parts about this game. the fans make it so much fun. To see how everyones tavs interact with the characters. I chose a Selunite cleric to be his love. And when he says hes leaving. she says she will go with him. But he would rebuff and say she has her whole life ahead of her and she should travel and fulfill her duties and live her life before thinking of dedicating herself to just one place. She would of course be cheeky and she would say something about how the Sharran temple should be sealed and the land cleansed and prayed over and how the house of healing will need a new healer to help the refugees. She plays it off as part of her duty and a "I suppose if we cross paths in all my 'duties' we could talk" kind of attitude. Then of course she would be ones of the leads in welcoming people into the land and caring for the sick and injured and restoring moonrise tower as a sanctuary and temple to Selune. Always there for Halsin.

My Tav actually spends most of her time either as a wolf or a cat, so it's interesting that that's her "true" nature. I'm basically setting myself up for heartache even in a game!

Baldurs gate 3 development team has hit the right boxes for all of us thirsty fans. They're the first video game to have an intimacy coordinator, and they made full use of them. Halsin turning into a bear, and that squirrels reaction shall be one of gamings most iconic moments of all time, no contest.

But I think by the sound of this dialogue he’s done with other lovers and his heart is now the tav’s, because he said he was going to wait for us and the tav pretty much said the same thing, so if they end up making a sequel to bg3 there’s a good chance we’ll see him again hopefully and we’ll finally be able to have that long awaited reunion

Both Ascended and normal Astarion still commit to the relationship as well. Ascended Astarion wants to rule the world (or at least Baldur's Gate) with you and normal Astarion asks what you wanna do now, and of course, after centuries of being trapped with Cazador he doesn't seem convinced to settle down in one place but he says he would for Tav, but mainly what he wants it's to keep adventuring around (either travel to find a cure for him or go to take care of the spawns they set free) and do so with Tav by his side ♡ He even points out he is happy when Tav says "WE should do this"
I think it's cute. And I would love to see a DLC where we pay that realm a visit and get to see him walking around in bear form with a bunch of them riding on his back. Might make up for the (ahem) love scene where you don't even see him so much as get his nose patted before it cuts to the squirrel.

@arthurianmaiden unfortunately not. They both just had their separate romance endings, and as far as I can tell it's the same ones as if you had romanced only one of them. Hope they build a bit more on the poly-stuff, since it would be super interesting to have them interact with it! Halsins romance is just really bland after his one romance scene

Unfortunately you have to kill Karlach at the end otherwise no extra cutscene gets triggered! It's a know bug and they're supposedly working on it. ://
i went back on my save and killed karlach and i literally got no scenes after that.. i hated my ending so much.. literally saved shadowhearts parents and she doesnt even say anything in the end???? this is probably the worst ending i have ever seen for any media, because i quite literally didnt get one@@Trashanna

Just to let him run off play the hero, play daddy for strangers kids, Lay with some other woman 😅 and TAV only visits him every now and then when she is desperate enough. Depending on the dynamic etc Many poly people are doing just that but often with more than one person. He even told my TAV : You are all I want l, but I will not hoard you to myself. Let others know the happiness of being with you. Quotes like this make it sound like you can go have fun but you are all he needs. He has also spoken of a future together. Never wanting things to end. Etc it all depends on your relationship and how you play the game. So when you get all these pieces of dialogue it makes no sense for him to run off alone without giving TAV a choice. I feel like they should have done it similarly to what happened with (I believe) the iron bull in dragon age. You got the choice to keep things more open and casual or to get more serious and committed etc Which in my opinion makes much more sense. Because his choice to run of really comes out of nowhere for some players. Depending on what dialog they got/how they developed their relationship.

Even if he recruits a whole harem. He's big enough she can share🤣 But TAV could help rebuild things there. Doesn't mean they have to be together 24/7 but being able to join/help him. Or having them in a proper poly (or open) relationship would be nice! Because with the way it ends now there isn't a relationship at all, barely even a friendship 😅
Wait hold up, did they add new options? People are saying you couldn't go with him but in my run (Urge, Monk, Gnome) I remember leaving with him, with him even being surprised that I'd leave the adventuring behind to live a quiter life. In the epilogue we even walked in together wearing similiar clothes. In the party he even asks me if I regret going with him and if I don't miss adventure. I also remember less clothes in the ending. :3
I finally finished BG3 and I didn't even get this scene because there's a bug, where if you let Karlach live, it bugs out your romance scene! I refuse to let Karlach die so I will leave it as it is, but what the hell Larian? That's such a massive bug to not be fixed immediately. Those that romance Halsin already have to deal with limited romance scenes/talk compared to other characters, and then we don't even get the (disappointing) end romance scene with him?

Erm, it's a nice scene I guess. Would have liked a more concrete ending with him that didn't have him insisting that we can both still have sex with other people. I was sort of torn between Halsin and Gale for my first playthrough but I think this tips the scales in Gale's favor.

I have a maxed out relationship with him, and he speaks about our relationship being different to any other he's had and wanting to stay together. There should be an option to go with him. There isn't not because halsin doesn't want us, but because his romance was added kinda last minute and they didn't expect people to go only for him.

This is so frustrating! I'm playing a druid who is already sort of the mommy type, going with him and taking care of all those kids (and have some of their own) would be the happiest possible ending I could imagine for her. But turns out the romance with him is really bland and will make me miss a lot of the fun with this game. The issue isn't even the polyamory, I've seen he does say something along the lines of that he doesn't fall in love easily but does love Tav, implying s/he's more special that all others and they truly have a bond. The issue is how rushed the whole romance seems to be, how it's not fun for the player. And worse even, I couldn't care less how big he is, he's not my type, I very much prefer Astarion's sweet lithe body, but I truly love this man's huge heart. We aren't all thirsty for his physique! In conclusion, I think I'll just delay playing the game and see if the new patches make things any better.

The scene was removed along with others or my larian game is just weird? I plated it with 2 characters now and zero romance endings. All around ending is lacking and a lot was cut. I have seen data miners talkign about it and I am so sad for not having any such scenes :(
Unfortunately the endings are currently bugged and will not trigger unless you let Karlach die. If you do that, your ending cutscene with any of the companions should play!
I just finished the game and only romanced Halsin. I didn't take him into the final battle. Do you only get this cutscene when you take him with you? I could talk to him before the battle but he only said "we don't have time to talk". Wtf that is so mean...
Yes if you don't take him to the final battle he technically becomes an NPC because of how the "allies" work. You have everyone else lined up and Halsin is there with them if he's not in your party, so I guess his "NPC status" overwrites his romance.
his romance is lacking, but his scene if you tell him to control the bear thing and you are in ur normal forms is SO LONG AND EXPLICIT in comparison to other scenes
This is why Halsin's romance has zero appeal to me. He's okay with you being the camp pump despite claiming to have feelings for you, and then he dips on you without even asking if you want to go with. Though the intense aversion to commitment is pretty typical of what I've seen in people who are into poly/open relationships so can't say it's unrealistic.

I romanced Astarion and Halsin, was able to do this as a 5-way (after finishing Astarions personal quest)

@arthurianmaiden unfortunately not. They both just had their separate romance endings, and as far as I can tell it's the same ones as if you had romanced only one of them. Hope they build a bit more on the poly-stuff, since it would be super interesting to have them interact with it! Halsins romance is just really bland after his one romance scene
Dang I wonder if you need a high relationship to tav to initiate. We had a poly but he was still neutral and I did not get this scene. Just astarion

Unfortunately you have to kill Karlach at the end otherwise no extra cutscene gets triggered! It's a know bug and they're supposedly working on it. ://

i went back on my save and killed karlach and i literally got no scenes after that.. i hated my ending so much.. literally saved shadowhearts parents and she doesnt even say anything in the end???? this is probably the worst ending i have ever seen for any media, because i quite literally didnt get one@@Trashanna

Just to let him run off play the hero, play daddy for strangers kids, Lay with some other woman 😅 and TAV only visits him every now and then when she is desperate enough. That's what brothels are for. My TAV should have stayed with astarion 🤦🏼♀️

@@janset21 But being poly doesn't mean you can't be in a committed relationship or share your life with someone. Depending on the dynamic etc Many poly people are doing just that but often with more than one person.
He even told my TAV : You are all I want l, but I will not hoard you to myself. Let others know the happiness of being with you.
Quotes like this make it sound like you can go have fun but you are all he needs.
He has also spoken of a future together. Never wanting things to end. Etc it all depends on your relationship and how you play the game. So when you get all these pieces of dialogue it makes no sense for him to run off alone without giving TAV a choice.
I feel like they should have done it similarly to what happened with (I believe) the iron bull in dragon age. You got the choice to keep things more open and casual or to get more serious and committed etc
Which in my opinion makes much more sense. Because his choice to run of really comes out of nowhere for some players. Depending on what dialog they got/how they developed their relationship.

And also not what he said in previous pieces of dialogue😅 If she, my TAV wanted an occasional hook up. Brothels would do the trick. So as long as we get the option to send her with him, I'm happy. Even if he recruits a whole harem. He's big enough she can share🤣 But TAV could help rebuild things there. Doesn't mean they have to be together 24/7 but being able to join/help him. Or having them in a proper poly (or open) relationship would be nice! Because with the way it ends now there isn't a relationship at all, barely even a friendship 😅

Wait hold up, did they add new options? People are saying you couldn't go with him but in my run (Urge, Monk, Gnome) I remember leaving with him, with him even being surprised that I'd leave the adventuring behind to live a quiter life.
In the epilogue we even walked in together wearing similiar clothes. In the party he even asks me if I regret going with him and if I don't miss adventure.
I also remember less clothes in the ending. :3

I finally finished BG3 and I didn't even get this scene because there's a bug, where if you let Karlach live, it bugs out your romance scene! I refuse to let Karlach die so I will leave it as it is, but what the hell Larian? That's such a massive bug to not be fixed immediately. Those that romance Halsin already have to deal with limited romance scenes/talk compared to other characters, and then we don't even get the (disappointing) end romance scene with him?

Erm, it's a nice scene I guess. Would have liked a more concrete ending with him that didn't have him insisting that we can both still have sex with other people. I was sort of torn between Halsin and Gale for my first playthrough but I think this tips the scales in Gale's favor.
Hal sun is firmly poly, so it’s pretty in character.

@@janset21 If you romance him, he very explicitly states wants to see you again, if you'll have him. I have a maxed out relationship with him, and he speaks about our relationship being different to any other he's had and wanting to stay together. There should be an option to go with him. There isn't not because halsin doesn't want us, but because his romance was added kinda last minute and they didn't expect people to go only for him.
when does this trigger? i just reached the ending, everyone said their goodbyes at the docks, and then a post credit scene with withers.

for me the romance was bugged?? Halsin commented on my tav being illithid/a mindflayer when she was very much NOT one?? then Karlach went kaboom and the game ended? im so confuuuseededr
How did you get this? I never had the options to talk to anyone before the credits rolled.
Not sure if the bug still exists, but in my case I had to let Karlach die to get a epilogue cutscene with romanced Gale.

This is so frustrating! I'm playing a druid who is already sort of the mommy type, going with him and taking care of all those kids (and have some of their own) would be the happiest possible ending I could imagine for her. But turns out the romance with him is really bland and will make me miss a lot of the fun with this game. The issue isn't even the polyamory, I've seen he does say something along the lines of that he doesn't fall in love easily but does love Tav, implying s/he's more special that all others and they truly have a bond. The issue is how rushed the whole romance seems to be, how it's not fun for the player.
And worse even, I couldn't care less how big he is, he's not my type, I very much prefer Astarion's sweet lithe body, but I truly love this man's huge heart. We aren't all thirsty for his physique!
In conclusion, I think I'll just delay playing the game and see if the new patches make things any better.
Well at least we can commit to Astarion, Wyll, and Gale 😅 (assuming tav wasnt naive enough to believe him about making her a god too)

The scene was removed along with others or my larian game is just weird? I plated it with 2 characters now and zero romance endings. All around ending is lacking and a lot was cut. I have seen data miners talkign about it and I am so sad for not having any such scenes :(
Unfortunately the endings are currently bugged and will not trigger unless you let Karlach die. If you do that, your ending cutscene with any of the companions should play!
I just finished the game and only romanced Halsin. I didn't take him into the final battle. Do you only get this cutscene when you take him with you? I could talk to him before the battle but he only said "we don't have time to talk".

Yes if you don't take him to the final battle he technically becomes an NPC because of how the "allies" work. You have everyone else lined up and Halsin is there with them if he's not in your party, so I guess his "NPC status" overwrites his romance.

Unfortunately there is a bugright now where you have to let Karlach die for any of the ending cutscenes to trigger.

his romance is lacking, but his scene if you tell him to control the bear thing and you are in ur normal forms is SO LONG AND EXPLICIT in comparison to other scenes

This is why Halsin's romance has zero appeal to me. He's okay with you being the camp pump despite claiming to have feelings for you, and then he dips on you without even asking if you want to go with. Though the intense aversion to commitment is pretty typical of what I've seen in people who are into poly/open relationships so can't say it's unrealistic.
