Great exercise. Thanks for the reminder. It's crazy how behind the metronome you are though in many of these examples. Was that some kind of technology issue?
I do this. It helps. I got it from a Perdrosaxo video. Your video is lovely, it reinforces how useful this approach is. Think targeting the last note of the 5. BUT going onto the 6th note is so difficult! Completing the scale its a torture. Any tips for that? BTW when I say I do it.... I do, but not well! Its a long game!!
The word articulation refers to the pattern of staccato and legate being used in a passage, all combined. But looks like the all of America has changed the meaning of the word As it meaning staccato or simply tongued. The best way to improve fast staccato is to practice fast and slow tenuto. Let it happen by itself.
Stumbled across this video today and will definitely be trying the exercises out. Many thanks for the enjoyable humour too.
Thank you! Please let me know if they are helpful.
I like this exercise! A great way to work on coordinating the tongue and fingers too. Great, fun and useful video!
Concise, effective and easy to understand! Thank you 😊

How do you like the VD BD mouthpiece? Is it the BD4 , BD5, or BD7?
I'm playing the BD5 mouthpiece. I think it's a good match for me on my Toscas right now. Good sound, articulation, and pitch.

Work on 6 until it is easier. Then 7. Then 8...and so on. Baby steps!
