My folks owned a '47 Chevy 2 door Stylemaster , in black, and it was the car they owned from 1947 to 1960. My brother and I grew up riding in the back, usually standing up holding onto the blanket ropes so we could see better. I always wondered why the cigarette ashtray was located way up on the dashboard because it was hard to reach. My father never smoked while driving; Mom, however, did, and it seemed she could never hit the ashtray so the ashes were just about everywhere except in the ashtray. Great memories - thanks for posting
My good friend back in the middle 60s had a 47 chevy , straight six , 3 speed stick on the column with vacuum assist . It shifted very easy . It didn't look this pristine , it was flat black , red wheels and white walls . We had alot of fun in that car . Three guys in the front , 4 in the back and cruise . Lets all smoke a cigarette . LOL
Love this Chevy ! My Dad got one before I was born right after he married my mom in 1946 , he loved that car , he pulled a long trailer from Illinois to California in 1956 , they kept the Chevy until 1959 , then my grandmother gave them a 1956 Pontiac Star Chief , I don’t remember that Chevy I was only 3 yrs old .
Fantastic! Only looks like it's"missing" a few things... Vacuum ashtray, overdrive, 2 speed axle, blue dot tail lenses.... And ME IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT.
..Beautiful!...although I'm not really a fan of the lowered suspension or the "visor" in front, i'd much rather have it that way than slammed, bucket seats, LS motor, 32" wheels, and a god-awful "patina"-type paint job!.....
Has all the options and trim package. Looks very nice. That styel in my mind will never grow old.
This is my favorite 40s classic car.
So many western shows and even a shot on Tool Time with Earnest Borgnine, good actor
American cars surely are the best works of art in the world

My mother had a 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline 4 door sedan with floor starter and the optional banjo steering wheel like the one shown in this car.

Chevrolet fleet master was in use even in late 90's and early 2000's in India, but later its spare parts became unavailable.
