Used to own this game. You missed a key part of the gameplay. The little things that look a wire between two poles are sheild generators. You use the ship to charge energy from there, fly back to the city, and then send the energy into the city. The shield repairs itself. In practice, there is no way to win the game. The enemies always wear you down to one city and then hit it with everything they have. You will not have enough time to fight them off AND go get more shield power. The city will take hit after hit and die. But still a nice variation on a Defender game. My family loved playing it back in the day.

The graphics are great, but I like the Intellivision sound better.
The Intellivision version is pure crap.
