Thanks for uploading this! Great memories. My dad got this for me the day it came out when I was a kid and I played the hell out of it. Our local Toys "R" Us had a massive video game section they had the artwork for the games mounted to cards that you could lift up. And then there was a little slips below that you could grab it take to the front to pay for the game and retrieve it from the locked up area. I remember going there as a kid praying there would be at least one slip beneath the game that I wanted if they were out of slips you know the game was sold out. Good times
I have such vivid memories of playing this. It was the hardest Colecovision game we had and has some pretty frustrating elements like how the flying has inertia and the enemy attacks are pretty fast. But for some reason I really loved it. So fun to see Wing War again!
This is pretty cool, kind of a forerunner to games like Montezuma's Revenge, Impossible Mission or Pitfall 2 along with games like: Pharaoh's Curse (C64 etc, 1983) Spelunker (Multi, 1983) Shamus: Case II (Atari 8-bit, 1983/C64, 1984) Downland (Tandy, 1983) Mountain King (Multi, 1983) Fathom (Multi, 1983)
I forgot all about this game and all the gems you have to collect . . from the emerald and ruby all the way to the diamond (the hardest room to beat)! The egg hatching was cool too. The only lame part is you cant see yourself get hurt (the dragon makes no lurching or "ugh!" sound)
The purpose was to collect the gems. There were 4 different gems, Air (you see falling from the sky), water ( you see near the water screens), fire ( you see when certain creatures are killed or spew out of the volcano), and diamond (you can only see in the small cave and it makes the tingle sound), which was the most difficult to obtain. There is also the flying egg, which is a new life if you catch it and place it in the layer. I don't remember all the details, and it was hard to figure out as the manual was vague at best. The more fire gems, the more breaths you get, up to 99 I believe. The water gems gave you life and I don't remember what air did for you. You needed to collect these three before trying for the diamond. The diamond gave you both life and fire power. Your main enemy was the griffen( the yellow thing) , which will chase you around the map until one of you has died.

this game was ahead of it's time back in '83
man the background artwork was fantastic
This is kinda like "JOUST" - but way better because you can go places besides just 1 screen.
The good old days, would give anything to go back.
Great game! And one of the more difficult ColecoVision games. I still have my copy somewhere around my house.

Seemed a new game was released every week ..19.99 children’s palace. I really thought I had something with this game.
Looks like an early concept for joust

Whats the purpose of the game, find items? Are there any more levels? That dragon is so cute XD
