I remembered being enamored with fashion in high school but hadn’t fully understood archival vintage pieces and wear.
I regretted not having been able to purchase *M. Jacobs Archival Kiki Boot* in the ankle length size in the *Greige Eggplant* shade. I always felt his Fall 16 show was impeccable in design and you can tell he was inspired. The Kiki is also reminiscent of the North American Salem/NewEng Mass, Herbalist Root, All Souls, HALLOWEEN vibes. Every time I see them (now stare at them) it’s nostagia. A particular setting of that gust of fog over water that Salem feels. Pebbled cobbles sidewalks, etc.
Well now, he has rereleased *4* ankle length shades and *I was finally able to purchase the Croco Black Embossed* (I cannot believe The Kiki is under a stack it’s unbelievable. You can tell the shoes are being made by artisanal shoe makers (I was floored when I inspected top to bottom) and a shoe specific atelier : they are *stitched not glued* . I am anticipating purchasing the *dark crystal* (just for the collection as I am not sure if the crystal trend will last without it being worn and done in a tacky fashion. I do believe his designs for them that he rereleased are not tacky, at all. I would love to see the ankle lengths in an Army Green, Pistachio Green, Maroon and Chocolate Brown. Completes any specific styledized look. Great for Autumn/Winter wear.
Other honorable mentions would be *Lanvin’s Smile Pierced Platform* , *LaQuan Smith’s Racer Pants* , *16 Arlington’s Python Clogs* (every shade) , *Awake Mode’s Delta Sandal in Black Leather and Tassled Orange* , and *Versace’s 2020 Leaf Stilettos* 😍
P.S. Missed one, *Amina Muaddi’s Red Satin Dalida* Rihanna stole my croco one I wanted i that video with ASAP, too 😆. I emailed Amina’s site to request more Croco drops in the Dalida. Time will tell. 😊
