Tatanga is back after being beaten in the regular-mode run of this game ( tasvideos.org/... ), and he kidnapped Princess Daisy again. Daisy is not a pilot, so she is unable to escape from her prison in the sky, despite there being a freely accessible aircraft in the vicinity.
Mario must travel through the four Kingdoms of Birabuto, Muda, Easton, and Chai once again to rescue Daisy. Although this time around, they're packed with much more enemies than before.
This run has much more action than the regular mode of Super Mario Land, due to the increased amount of enemies, yet it is only slightly slower. If you liked TASs of Super Mario Land before now, wait until you see this.

Note: This movie begins from a save state from the end of regular mode in order to access hard mode. There is no other way to access it outside of a hack. We normally do not accept movies which begin from a save state.
Note: This movie requires conversion in order to be played in sync on VBA-rr v23.

Back when this game was released, it was very hard for us to realize until the 2000s that Daisy and Peach are not one in the same. We were fooled by Daisy's earlier gaming appearances because she looked nearly identical to Princess Peach in her earlier designs. That's why the most people during the 90s didn't know she was a different character. I always knew Daisy and Peach were different characters, but I had no idea she fooled many people because they couldn't tell how she was different from Peach in her earlier gaming appearances. It was hard to believe it, but yes, Daisy and Peach are different Nintendo characters.

When most people heard about Daisy back in the 1990s, they were surprised that Daisy and Peach were not one in the same. What fooled them was Peach and Daisy looking nearly identical to each other and most people being familiar with Peach. Speaking about that, Next Generation had a December 1995 issue that talked about the confusion of Princess Daisy. In her earlier appearances, Daisy looked too similar to Peach, most people didn't know she was a different character. Even journalists in the 1990s didn't know Daisy was a different character from Peach. I bet many of us were surprised about Daisy when she first appeared in Super Mario Land. I didn't think Daisy was Princess Peach back in the 90s, but Americans were just too sluggish and dumb to understand Daisy was she a new character. I'm just happy Daisy exists in video games and I'm for her existence as well.
