Tonight is a look across the Universe. We begin with the first ever gravitational lensed galaxy found in the 1980's in the galaxy cluster, Abell 370 to another Hubble Deep Field and the size and characteristics of the Universe at the largest scales.
Then we go down to the subatomic and see how light interacts with matter and how all electrons are possibly just one single electron moving back and forth through time and space. (that one is seriously fascinating).
Last we discuss the possibility of life in the universe using the parameters outlined by the Drake equation. This uses probabilities about stars, exoplanets, life, civilizations, and their technologies to estimate how many other intelligent living and extinct civilizations there might be in the Milky Way Galaxy.

Great video!! And 1:44:14 is so true. It’s crazy how we shove ourselves into such a teeny tiny box when overcome with stress, pressure, anxiety, fear, etc. We forget that these things are so small compared to the entirety of the universe. It’s refreshing to remember that in the scope of everything, there is so much more to our lives than what we have limited them to.
thanks. its a really struggle but worth it to build the mental muscle that reminds us we are incredibly complex creatures who evolved to be conscious in a universe whose true nature we are far from fully understanding and the moments of joy and happiness we can experience and hopefully share are gifts from whatever divine force lies underneath it all. I saw a couple comments talk about it but one of my greatest methods of actually relaxing and realizing whatever “major” issue I’m stressing about is really not a big deal is to take a metaphoric step back. Zoom out and think about how small we really are. For some it may freak them out but for me it’s really humbling and helps me reset and figure things out.

it is humbling. to drive off the scary feeling we might be insignificant though, i gravitate towards the idea that our complexity still places us in a privileged place in the hierarchy of the universe. but its the grandiosity and mystery of both cosmic and quantum scales that help us remember there so much more to us than the more boring and confining aspects of social norms. Engaging with the mysteries of both the universe and other people seems to be the way to meaning and growth. thanks for the love GP

@@LetsFindOut1 A lot of what you were doing around 2019 - Fermi, Kardashev Scale, Ragnarok, the human brain, are favorites. The music enhances but makes them more sleep-inducing, meaning I can't listen at work, a shame because your content shouldn't just be for sleep. More recent episodes such as Basics of Relativity or SETI messages, can be listened to during waking hours. I wonder if you could record a basic episode and edit to make ASMR and non-ASMR versions?

Personally I'm really sensitive to spund and often have to sleep with earbuds due to noisy neighbours etc, and I just find that whispers sorta "tickles" my ears in a really unpleasant way which I cant take. You could prob do some videos with whispers and some without (and mark which are which), but dont do it 50/50 in the same vid - that would leave "everyone" frustrated, lol 😅
I actually think you're wonderful with your normal voice, and I prefer that you do not whisper. Please continue with your brilliant work explaining the universe to the layperson.

very trippy to think there was nothing than something exploded but what exploded and where did it originally come from where is the origin of it these distances are just so massive its hard for my little human brain to comprehend such concepts there is no chance there isn't life out there i just think we are so far apart that since space is expanding it becomes impossible to communicate or travel to these galaxies containing life forms are we the only universe is this even real if not what is reality and where did that come from how does nothing become something
