You guys should have seen the old form of the stage, as used pre-1993. Later they paved the worst parts and now only a part of the original stage is used. Tough and beautiful, but cannot hold a candle to the original Tarzan. Trust me, my best mate lived in the village of Vitoli, right at the start of the stage in the early 90s. Been there dozens of times. Even walking the stage route was hard. Driving over 5mph took a huge leap of faith. But what a scenery.

Fun fact for those who don't know it: This stage is named Tarzan because there was a seclusive guy living in the forest in a log cabin near the start of the stage. Full beard, long hair etc. He looked like Tarzan, the fictional character written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Drivers, teams and media started saying "we are going to Tarzan for our next stage" and the name stuck with it. The oroginal name for this stage is Fourna. RIP "Tarzan". My father met this guy.

@@DirtFish yeap. My father told me he was a really cool guy too. People were trying to help him, give him stuff he would need. He only asked for wood to burn in the winter and cigarettes. No food no nothing. 😂 He name was Giorgos (George) Bourgos. He got bored from the city life and he literally went in the forest to live alone. Tough guy, he died 92 years old.
Plus the fact that the organisation has correct the track a lot in order to be fit for the cars.
