    As a diehard Sabres fan nothing will change until Terry Pegula sells to someone who cares and know what they are doin, no coincidence with him buying the team then starting a 13 year playoff drought

      Agreed. I stopped following this club many years ago (I'll still follow individual players from time to time).
      The Knox brothers (the original owners of the Sabres) were class acts and knew how to treat the players AND the fans.
      Such a precipitous and sad fall for what was once a model hockey franchise.

    The Sabres don't play with intensity nor with any sense of urgency! They don't hit, and are not aggressive enough in the opponents zone. They need to get a player or two that allows this team to get dog gone mean! As it stands, the Sabres play soft like wussies and reflect the woke organization standards! The Sabres are a joke!

    They will, everyone is panicking after 1 damn game. They are 5th in the division and 2 points behind 3rd. Every team has a bad night. They beat St. Louis philly and LA that’s 10-8-1 then you have ducks and sharks 12-8-1 5/6 games are winnable but we will probably go 4-1-1 so 11-9-2 not that bad considering where they were 2 seasons ago with a losing record after November and even December

    • @jimmyhockey
      @jimmyhockey  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it’s more so about the team starting out the same way every year and never managing to go on a run. Buffalo is not in the same class as the ducks and sharks they are much further ahead in their rebuild and should be showing that on the ice at this point. No need to panic but definitely worth paying attention to

    Rasmus Dahlin has not looked good. He’s actually look terrible as a captain. He takes dumb penalties all the time he’s allowed multiple breakaways this year by giving the puck away especially in key moments and his defensive play is average..
    Power doesn’t know how to play defense at all. He doesn’t take the body even though he’s huge. He doesn’t get aggressive his positioning his average he loses the puck a lot. He doesn’t seem to know what to do with the puck in his own zone. The guy is a mess. Our blue line is terrible. It’s young, but it’s not on defense, which is bad considering their defenseman we have no real defenseman besides Clifton, so it’s wonders we can’t protect the net. We’re too soft on defense and we don’t have enough defenseman that can play defense. It’s real simple.

    • @timar6868
      @timar6868 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      UPL is awkward decent goalie but he’s not a good goalie. He’s nowhere near as good as he was for two months in the last bit of the season from last year he peaks at that but then he goes back to average. I’m not saying he won’t be good, but that’s where he’s at right now he’s not good enough to carry our terrible defense.

      Byram, Dahlin, and Power are all in competition for leading the league in even strength points for a D-man if anything they are carrying the team while Tage has been out. Also UPL is a good goalie who also had a great season last year...problem was that we decided to stick a young goalie who normally aren't in the NHL at that age instead of a big veteran.

    It's not really their fault when the talent pool was destroyed by non-stop expansion drafts. They're overpaid children with no talent. Just a bunch of conditioned athletes with no real reason to be in the NHL compared to previous seasons. People who pay for this substandard product and support the corporatism of the NHL deserve to watch garbage. The NHL is geared for sustainability. The GMs want the rules to keep their players healthy and numerous so they can have as many teams as possible while providing the least entertainment for the most money. The teams who secured talent in the last 10 years will dominate the remaining minor league teams. The NHL has mostly become the minors.

    • @Remmy0930
      @Remmy0930 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      "Nonstop" expansion? The Golden Knights and Seattle constitutes "nonstop" expansion? All the others were just relocations. 2 expansion drafts didn't hurt the product. Usually expansion drafts cause the NEW teams to have a bottom dwelling team for a while... the complete OPPOSITE happened with Vegas and Seattle. Vegas won a Cup and has been contending since they entered and Seattle made the postseason their first year. Teams claim who they want, and the REST become available for the expansion teams. The product on the ice is also the best it's been in years right now. The talent is crazy good. We've had a generational talent in Bedard just enter the league and a bunch of other really good players like Celebrini and Michkov. The biggest issue with the league is no tax states getting a huge advantage and LTIR. Other than that last season was one of the most successful and exciting seasons/postseasons the NHL has had in a long time. Hockey is in a good place right now.

    • @bennettbaty5905
      @bennettbaty5905 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s not always about what we want. The league, management, and the majority of the players like safer rules. As far as expansion it’s good for the league and the future of hockey. I would have never watched hockey or cared about it if my city didn’t get a team. Also the teams are more talented then they’ve ever been in history. Also seattle has a top 5 prospect pool despite being in the league for 4 years
