- Here is the next part of my C5 Z06 build. Exhaust, headers, tune, HUD, head unit done.. Stay tuned for seats next!! This is a rebuilt wheel that is built over am OEM style with leather and Carbon fiber. Feels great in the hand and awesome quality.

if you take the ground and the positive off, and touch them together it will instantly de-energize the car so you can by pass that 30 min wait time. thats what i have to do at work when i work on hybrid cars lol

u had a color corvette emblem on the old airbag cover now you have a plain one after the steering wheel install?
Oh I just took it off. It was a decal (previous owner put it on).

Awesome looking wheel. I ordered the same "squircle" style from them except with a black top mark. Hope mine comes off as easy as yours did 👍
Nice dude. Yeah I'm not sure if I got extremely lucky or the 2 leg puller is really the best "hack" if you will.
VetOnVettes757 I got the same wheel removal tool you did as recommended by dashrestyle so I should be good to go.
One question: can't you just pop the wheel off and re-mount it a few degrees over to get the stripe to the 12 o'clock position?
@@jdmvette negative. I thought you would be able to as well as my wheel is a few degrees off center. The C5 wheel has a little notch in the splines so it can only go on one way. No biggie. I still need to get mine aligned

You replaced the airbag unit also too or you just removed the decals from the flags? Also what radio unit did you install? Looks really great and very clean install

I've got an 04 Z06 and am looking at options. This one looks very good. Is it a smaller diameter than the stock one? Stock seems a little too big to me.

Looking at the vendor website, I'm not sure if yours is the D steering wheel or the DD steering wheel, because the shape on the top of yours seems kind of in between the two. Can you confirm which one you got? the D or the DD?

@@jonathanison8475 i had to tap my own holes into the aluminum of steering wheel and then screw the bolts of steering wheel puller kit to the steering wheel. It was a real pain.

Looks awesome, if they were able to make them in a smaller diameter than stock and retain the airbag I’d be more interested... in tall so want a new wheel that my legs don’t hit

I ordered it just like that. Check out there eBay store. They always have slightly different ones. They are all custom made. 👍🤙

Some cheap deal I picked up at Advance auto. Nothing special right off the shelf.

Very slight
Same diameter. They rebuild old steering wheels from Corvettes so no difference in external size, per them. I asked before dropping $1k for a smaller wheel.
