- This video features Mass Effect characters in REAL LIFE using AI Technology @ Art Breeder. All images are created in Art Breeder by merging screenshots of the characters from the game + pictures of real life people. There's also some Photoshop editing involved. I hope you guys enjoy!

► Note #2: Due to the AI technology not being able to process alien or non-human looking characters, several characters had to be excluded. Such as Garrus, Wrex, Mordin, Thane, Grunt, Legion, Javik, Nyreen, and Saren. These are the characters I would have included if alien characters are allowed. Maybe someday in the future …..

This is cool! Thanks. The funny thing is that most of the models were based off really living people. Male Shep/Mark Vanderloo, Kaiden/Luciano Costa, Joker/Seth Green, Jacon/Kenyon Glover, Miranda/Yvonne Strahovski etc....most are carbon copies.
I only know of Miranda. As for Joker, I thought it was only his voice since he doesn't look like Seth Green at all IMO lol

And Chris Hubbard/Zaeed, Candace Neil/Jack, Jillian Murphy/Liara(though if I'm being honest, I think her voice actress looks more like Liara, but officially it was Jillian).
Oh and Jamal Kazak/James, Rana McAnear/Samara.
Samara as well. The actress went to a convention with Mark Meer and they were both in full costume/makeup. I would have loved to see that.
And Diana Allers was played by and physically based on Jessica Chobot :)
Miranda's appearance was modeled after her voice actress, Yvonne Strahovski, so if you want to know what she would look like in-person, just look at a picture of Yvonne and imagine her with dark hair.
Jack, Bailey and Zaeed are probably the best

@@Yic17Gaming - To be fair, that is likely what they WOULD look like to us IRL. We're hard-wired to distrust that which is (too) different from us. The beauty is overcoming that instinct and seeing the person behind the monstrous appearance.

I think u should include the real face that the characters are based on. So 3 in total for each characters. That would be awesome like Miranda also based on Yvonne face.

Most of these are based from real life people. Diana Allers is modeled and voiced by Jessica Chobot, who used to be a bigger name in the gaming community.

Kind of a mixed bag. At least some of those characters we have real-life models for (Joker, Miranda, EDI, Samara, TIM, Aria, Diana Allers,...) and the AI output doesn't look like them.
OTOH, some of the secondary characters are brilliant; Kelly, James, Steve, Samantha, Conrad Verner...) Hackett and Udina didn't look old enough, but Dr. Chakwas is perfect.

I think the lighting in the original games could sometimes make them look pretty realistic in ways live-action films, with their overly shiny direction, often can't

The AI did a good job other than making Hackett look like a minor league baseball coach instead of an Admiral. Plus, it is in me, or does Miranda/Ashley and Trayner/Brooks look like a set of sisters?

Kelly Chambers. I'd think twice about inviting her up to the cabin. Would expect to be told to take a seat by a Chris Hansen AI and wait for the authorities. Those fish will just have to die. Zaeed now looks like Michael Rooker.

I skip characters when their appearance can be altered by the player. I know Shepard sort of have a default look but I personally never use the default looks so yeah I just don't think it would work for everyone.

Most of these faces are quite asymmetric. Especially EDI. Copypaste her face in Paint and split in half. You will clearly see, that those are two different faces, sticked together. Same for many other.

The AI program I used back then wasn't good enough to do aliens. I'm planning to make a new version using a different AI program. Hopefully I'll be able to do aliens with more unique features then.

Most of them were alright. Anderson wasn't very good in my opinion. I don't know if all of the characters are lifted from real people, but Miranda (Yvonne Strahovski) and the Illusive Man (Martin Sheen) are 100% copies of real people, and there's no need to speculate on how they would look in real life as such.
Most of them I think are worse than the original, but AI sam is adorable.
What was the point of even making this? Their face models were already based on real people.
I have to say, was going well then it got to EDI, something about it felt so off putting. James Vega also didn't help.

I don't remember seeing Tali's face. I did see a video back in the day when you're romance her. It was just a stock photo that fans complained about.
Must be something new in remaster.
Yeah, in the original they used a modified stock photo but in the new Legendary Edition, they changed to the pic I used in the video.

No offence but its completely inacurate because all first main and seccond main protagonists have been designed on real humans for their face models and the AI did awful job. only Steve, Illusive Man, Conrad and Bailey were accurate.

Awfully done. They look worse than in the game. Very soapy glance picture with collages of unknown people faces. Jacky is totally another person. Samara is awful.
