I don't know which game I'd prefer but one thing for sure, the one aspect that I really liked in TCS is how the characters communicated through grumbling and groaning instead of actual dialogue. It's the charm of the old Lego games that I like very much, not because of nostalgia, but it's one of the "simplicity" characteristics that define the old lego games like Batman and Indiana Jones.
1. Actual Dialogue > Grumbiling And 2. TSS does have a feature where you could switch the dialogue to grumbling. So this whole argument you made. Yeah it’s invalid.
@@ShockwaveFPSStudios 1 grumbling > Actual Dialogue And 2 it was implemented as a last second after thought into TSS. Was not designed that way which means the story actually isn’t being told in character actions and slapstick humour, the dialogue is actually necessary, there wasn’t an alternative mode made to deliver the story and communicate what was happening for the characters on screen. So your whole argument is invalid because it fails to do the same thing at all even with the mode enabled because it was designed that way with that point in mind. Still nice last second homage to chuck in though so props for them to that but it really should have been a fully realised feature imo but there’s many more problems with the game before it gets to that point and ultimately it’s not a big deal. But that said with the old Lego games there was more to it than just character noises in how they delivered the tale, there was a craft in the animation that conveyed the story which transcended language like the earliest cartoons of the 20th century and even techniques you’d find in live action silent films like from the great Charlie Chaplin. Like in those films, in that style of game it didn’t matter if you spoke English, German, Hebrew or Japanese, you could follow the story being told on screen which was part of the charm in a story being retold with plastic toy figures that can’t speak like in real life. It was much more creative and fun and represented the very heart of the Lego product. It lost character and a bit of identity when it went away from it with Lego Batman 2. Still it’s a small thing. Really not a big deal either way imo, there’s a lot more that needed to be fixed or have actual thought and effort put into the game before you get to that point and Skywalker Saga sucks for a lotttttttt of other reasons before you get to something more minor like story delivery in animation
I swear, everytime someone complains about the dialogue, they’re always using the word humor. Look, humor wasn’t lost by the time LEGO Batman 2 came out, in fact every LEGO Game Post LB2 still had the humor. None of the other LEGO Games following LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean lost its humor, as it was still used beautifully in those LEGO Games. The only reason why you think that, is because LEGO Batman 2 was the first Traveler’s Tales Developed LEGO Game to use voice acting, as and all LEGO Games following that used voice acting. You just hate how LEGO Games after 2011 stopped using mumbling, that’s all. Oh and another thing. Lego Star Wars 1 actually replaced the voice acting… as while it was the first LEGO Game to be developed by Traveler’s Tales, Most LEGO Games prior to LEGO Star Wars 1 used voice acting, such as the first Lego Game ever made, that being LEGO Island. So yeah… in a weird way, mumbling replaced voice acting for a while, and then LEGO Games went straight back to voice acting. And I don’t see any Pre-Star Wars 1 fans complaining about how Mumbles made LEGO Games lose their humor. Because it didn’t.
I think the huge problem with Skywalker Saga are the levels. They are too few and too short. I mean, i like the huge open world, but Lego Star Wars Games are not just that, and it seems that tt games with this game has forgotten it. Plus, the humor was better back then than now, but that’s just my opinion.
Ultimately I just prefer Skywalker Saga. I like how expansive it is and just how much they crammed it. It’s still a shame that there were so many characters and key moments left out. The combat is slightly more advanced than TCS and they even managed to get some of the cast of the films to reprise their roles. I don’t hate the complete saga but I wouldn’t say it was the comprehensive Lego Star Wars game.
I'm a completionist, I like getting everything in the game. The Skywalker Saga is fun, but it's a fetch quest game. You travel to different planets to get items, having to go through those loading screens when you do. The levels were easy and, getting the minikits and kyber bricks were a grind
I remember buying the original Star wars trilogy the red case in my mall for PS2 back in the day now I own the complete saga for my PC next on my list r lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman
Skywalker Saga has horrible level design but fun mechanics. Complete saga has incredible level design that makes you want to replay it even though some gameplay mechanics are outdated. TCS is also infinitely replayable without needing to reset your whole progress. Skywalker saga is fun and I liked it but when you take both games for what they were at the time of their release the complete saga is a much better game.
I recently went back and 100% TCS, and gotta say, I prefer TCS by a large margin. When I play a Lego game, I don't want to play a AAA game with several expansive open worlds, over a hundred side missions etc. I wanna play something simple. And old Lego games have just that. Simplicity. When I play Skywalker Saga, I feel like I am playing any other AAA Star Wars game with a Lego skin put on top. And not to mention the fact that you have to walk and do some small tasks just to go from level to level, and the game literally takes over a 100 hours to complete, but just a small part of that time are the levels themselves. And while TCS has some negatives of it's own (fucking blue minikits), it's a fun little game that you can just get in, play for a bit and just enjoy your time. It's absolutely in my Top 3 Lego games.
Its a great fight between the 3 iconic games every single one its very good. TSS its very improved by the reason its the most new thing and they knew that doing open world was going to be much more fun. TCS bc its simple way of effective entretainment and perfect amount of levels. On CW i loved the ground battles the character roster and story
I think a lot of the reasons why LEGO Star Wars the Complete Saga is loved is just mainly nostalgia. Lots of people can’t stand the fact that their favorite Star Wars game is just outdated really. Do I think the Skywalker Saga’s better? No. It has its problems as there’s just nothing to replay, other then doing machinimas & mods for it. The Complete Saga’s outdated, but it does have replayability, which is what I think the Skywalker Saga lacked. Not the inclusion of voice acting despite the fact there’s an option to pick mumbling in the menu, or because Disney’s Star Wars sucks and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars is better (LEGO Star Wars is completely different from Regular Star Wars as it’s not toxic & controversial). No it’s just that it doesn’t have replayablity compared to other LEGO Games. Even LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2, the LEGO Movie 2 videogame, and LEGO Indiana Jones 2 (Man that’s a lot of 2s), has replayablity. And those games suck.
I think lego star wars 3 is the best lego str wars game (first marvel game is probably the best overall lego game). LSW3 was the perfect blend of old and new mechanics and i loved those RTS missions where you built barracks and commanded vehicles. Really wish they brought those back
The Complete Saga is my favorite Lego game of all time and my first to be honest I’d rather purchase a PS3 to play all my childhood games than playing Skywalker Saga you have to have too much time on your hands to 100% that game anyway Lego Star Wars complete saga, Lego Bat man 1 and Lego Indiana Jones 1 are my top 3 Lego games.
For me both Lego Star Wars the complete saga and the Skywalker saga are both brilliant games and they’re both fun in their own rights, yes I agree both games aren’t perfect but overall, they’re both awesome. 👍🏻
The orginal two games were even better than the complete saga to be honest. I'll never forgive them removing the "Huh? Wah!" from those two pilots in the first level when their ship gets shot down.
So here's the game plan Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Complete Saga has character spread around but in the regular one it has you have to do missions to get it so that's more that makes the game more fun and it has codes 380 characters is that surprising that is going to be so that can be so fun besides that game you playing
some aspects are good and some are not, this is natural, TSS lacks some feature to play with ATTE or AT AT or other machines in some sandbox where U could create ur own level or something or simply play with second friend etc :( like a open world created for battle field
The big problem i noticed in the skywalker saga was when i realized i was 2-3 hours in and i built a total of 3 things. A lego game that barely has any lego building? And every level had the most bare bones areas ive ever played in a lego game. Walk here, walk back, done, next level. Huge disappointment

No it’s not lol. First thing is there’s no such thing as objectivity in the medium of art. That said TSS is honestly one of the 3 worst Lego games, maybe the very worst ever made. It was rushed, there’s nothing to do, it’s insanely boring and easy. The game plays itself with forced button quick time events over platforming that’s non existent, the level design is absolutely horrendous and boring, actually almost non existent. It’s just extremely linear places you walk through with no divergence of path that you get through quickly doing nothing and over all done in 5 minutes with only 5 minimise to tell a botched simplified version of the story that’s rushed with no creativity. There are no puzzles in the levels, it doesn’t matter if you fail but on top of that you can’t fail. It takes 5 minutes to get shot by AI if you stand completely still. And you get all the studs back as soon as you respawn they don’t even scatter. The class system makes every character generic, no need to unlock all the characters or to replay missions and no character customisation. Theres no thought at all for co-op play where in duels the 2nd player literally does nothing playing as R2 or Vader that has to get beat by player 1. There is no reason to play the game. It is a complete failure of a video game and an utter waste of time. It’s a boring walking simulator that added combos and 3rd person shooting mechanics for no reason for something that’s not a video game

And now the negative stuff of each. TSS has very few levels per chapter and u spent much more time outside the levels than inside of them which still if u want to max it to 100% progress it will be a hell of a grind. On TCS the free play space is wayy to short and theres almost nothing to do in there ( practically the opsite as TSS). On CW it lacks boss fights a lot bc of the fact they only included 2 seasons. Also the space missions principally the rishi moon one its a total bitch took me 1 hour straight to complete
Any examples? Because I heard "The Complete Saga" is the most movie accurate and brutal in LEGO standards. They added death scenes of many character, which did not appear in "The Skywalker Saga" (Padme, Jabba, Greedo and Republic ship's pilots from "The Phantom Menace").
I dont have the skywalker saga cause i honestly just dont want it. Really the biggest thing about lego games that makes it or breaks it imo is the dialouge. Lego batman 3 made me want to cry with how awful the dialouge was. It was a goddamn nightmare but i found the game very fun to play. And i know theres the mumble mode in the skywalker saga but i dont think that would even fix it cause older lego games did physical comedy to compensate for the lack of dialouge and i doubt theyd reanimate cutscenes just for mumble mode. It probably makes the game more bearable, unless they just took the audio from the movies. But idk man. I just miss not having to be physically revolted every time someone opens their mouth and says the worst dialouge ever constructed by a human being. Even my kid self would think theyre cringe and thats seriously saying something.
The goat in my opinin is lego star wars 3 the clone wars best of the best duel wield lightsaber allout warfare level all story from tv series i love it
Honestly, I don't like Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga... It's hud, style, and gameplay is different from the Skywalker Saga... I wish they just went with the classic gameplay...
Yeah. You've got a point. Firstly i used to think that skywalker saga is the best lego game, but over the time, I think I was wrong and there's a lot of better lego games.

TSS is definitely superior in terms of the amount of content, graphics and gameplay features. However, if I had to choose one, I'd choose TCS. Besides nostalgia there are 4 main reasons that make TCS overall more enjoyable to me: #1 The signature humour conveyed through the mumbling in TCS is beyond great and almost completely absent from TSS. I don't need realistic dialogue in a LEGO game, I need great humour. #2 The levels in TCS are vastly superior to TSS's. Way too much of the main story in TSS takes place in the hub world, which you can't replay without starting an entirely new game. The actual story levels in TSS that you can replay are way to short and ommitt a considerable part of the story. #3 I loved the feature in TCS's hub world that all the unlocked characters would wander around the cantina. This gave so much life to the hub world and really allowed you to trace your progress in the game in an infinitely more satisfying way than by staring at a barren completion %. #4 TSS is simply too big. After completing TSS, including all the content on all the hub world planets, It felt like finishing a long term work project. Replaying the story missions was fun but due to the issues outlined in #2 they didn't feel as rewarding as replaying TCS. I don't think I'm ever going back to do a second full playthrough including the hub world in TSS ever again because it's just too much. Whereas I know I'll be replaying all of TCS again because it's simply a better amount of content to occasionally come back to.
The big thing for me is I can replay the content of the older saga more than the new one. A lot of content in the new saga game like ship takeovers, levels, etc are basically gatekept to another playthrough.
That's right! I agree
I tried the skywalker saga but I absolutely hated the HUD. I miss the round colourful character icons, and the clean HUD/UI.

@ we got ourselves a chatty kathy over here
@@protector_of_the_realms I LIKE BOTH TCS, AND TSS, BUT YOU SOUND SO DUM CAUSE HOW ARE YOU GOING TO SAY THAT TSS IS THE WORST LEGO STAR WARS GAME WHEN CHARACTERS LIKE TC-14, C-3PO, R2-D2, AND JAR JAR BINKS COULD ALL TALK, AND FIGHT IN TSS UNLIKE TCS 🙄 BUT REGARDLESS TCS WAS GOOD LEGO STAR WARS GAME, BUT FROM THE LOOKS OF TSS IT DOESN'T EVEN SEEM BORING IMO, AND LOOKS LIKE THAT IT'S MORE OF A FUN LEGO STAR WARS GAME UNLIKE TCS THO BECAUSE ALL LEGO STAR WARS CHARACTERS IN TCS COULDN'T TALK, AND THAT CHARACTERS LIKE TC-14, C-3PO, R2-D2, AND JAR JAR BINKS COULDN'T FIGHT, AND TALK IN TCS AS WELL LIKE THEY COULD IN TSS WHICH IS THE REASON THAT TSS LOOKS MORE FUN THAN TCS THO IMO 💯, SO YOU MUST BE DUM.
The humor and the pantomime acting are definitely major factors that make TCS better, but it’s also better because it doesn’t include Disney’s awful trilogy.
That's right, solid opinion
The *actual* reason why the game is so loved is because of the cantina band . That’s the real reason.
Right! I forgot about that 😅
I personally enjoy Lego Star Wars the skywalker saga more then this but I still love this game
Its not really often to see people who prefer more TSS to TCS
It looks like if they had a baby it would be that
Woah woah woah, skywalker saga isn't trash!!!! Calm down, its not TRASH. I mean a few parts are but don't trash the game!
I didn't say it's trash :P I just prefer more tcs
Honestly it’s probably the worst Lego game ever made so yeah… it’s trash lol

@@protector_of_the_realms Lego Indi 2? Lego Movie 2? It's far from the worse
Fr, space missions totally suck
It's all of all why does you have to unlock it from the other thing that missions it makes it more fun to unlock characters
nice video
Thanks!
Lego star wars TCS levels are good but going for 100% is an actual nightmare of an experience. It's waaaaaaay too repetitive to 100%
I think TSS is way more repetitive
Well I hate Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Complete Saga because I don't like how the details in the stories like
Any examples?
Yeah that's right. Mumbling makes older lego games way more climatic and better than the newer ones
Well look at that story and how the details at the start of that video that looks so dirty
The complete saga is better since it’s the actual skywalker saga, doesn’t have the sequel trilogy, and the levels are better paced.
Right, great opinion's there
And Lego Lord of the Rings. Can't forget about that. Avengers too.
Thats right! Awesome Lego games
The goat in my opinin is lego star wars 3 the clone wars best of the best duel wield lightsaber allout warfare level all story from tv series i love it
Frr this game is also peak in lego games
Currently 100% the games
@@leninistefrancophonefache nice :p

Haha always is :P
I still play it

Simply saying the complete saga is one of the best lego games ever, is enough to get a like. Subscription pending
Thanks bro! I really appreciate it :D
I own Lego Star Wars the vidoe game and Lego Star Wars the 2 the original trilogy
And what do you think about them?
@@Silspend perfect
@@Kidtastrophe99 Obviously haha 😁
complete saga is very great game
Imo the best lego game
still playing it 😄
Goated game :D
Honestly, I don't like Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga... It's hud, style, and gameplay is different from the Skywalker Saga... I wish they just went with the classic gameplay...
Yeah the new game sucked
Yeah. You've got a point. Firstly i used to think that skywalker saga is the best lego game, but over the time, I think I was wrong and there's a lot of better lego games.
@@Silspend like the older lego Batman and Indiana jones games were amazing

@@Silspend BUT PREFERENCES YOU MAY BE RIGHT ABOUT THAT THO BRODY 💯👍🏿.
Skywalker saga was so disappointing
That's freaking right
TSS is definitely superior in terms of the amount of content, graphics and gameplay features.
However, if I had to choose one, I'd choose TCS.
Besides nostalgia there are 4 main reasons that make TCS overall more enjoyable to me:
#1
The signature humour conveyed through the mumbling in TCS is beyond great and almost completely absent from TSS. I don't need realistic dialogue in a LEGO game, I need great humour.
#2
The levels in TCS are vastly superior to TSS's. Way too much of the main story in TSS takes place in the hub world, which you can't replay without starting an entirely new game. The actual story levels in TSS that you can replay are way to short and ommitt a considerable part of the story.
#3
I loved the feature in TCS's hub world that all the unlocked characters would wander around the cantina. This gave so much life to the hub world and really allowed you to trace your progress in the game in an infinitely more satisfying way than by staring at a barren completion %.
#4
TSS is simply too big.
I totally agree with you. Enjoy your another playthrough in TCS!
Still rocking this game on my Wii ^w^
amazing game as well as the console :D
