BREAKING Into The Tomb Of Bloody Mary

  • One of the most notorious Queens to ever have ruled over England is Bloody Mary I. She gained her nickname for the fact she burned over 200 people at the stake for their religious beliefs, and it was a time of great change and turmoil yet again in the nation as she restored Catholic beliefs and worship. But despite being the eldest daughter of King Henry VIII, Mary would rule for roughly 5 years until at the age of 42 inside of St James Palace she died, and she had suffered a significant amount during her short life. She was a woman whose health problems resulted in her death, and these had lasted some decades. But Mary today is laid to rest inside of Westminster Abbey, and her monument is rather insignificant compared to the fact her sister Elizabeth I is buried on top of her. But at some point, people broke into the tomb of Mary and Elizabeth.

The irony is that Henry VIII might have had a much longer legacy of British monarch descendants if he had married off Mary as a young woman. His delay insured she never had children. His treatment of his wives put Elizabeth off ever giving men that power over her. And his precious son didn’t live to have children. Mary’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren might have ruled England. Instead his direct line didn’t last more than a generation beyond him.

@@clairemora7715 ...defeating the Spanish "invincible" armada... and then being humiliated by them. Why are people ignoring Elizabeth's disastrous invasion of Spain and only selectively remember that one victory? The 1589 English Armada trying to invade Spain was wrecked by the Spanish both on sea and on land. At the Siege of La Coruna, the women of the city turned the tide of the battle under the leadership of Maria Pita and together with the Spanish troops pushed back the English invaders. Elizabeth fans ignore this stuff. Or the fact that Elizabeth broke her promise to her troops to reward them (as she said in the Tilbury speech, she would reward them). She used them and once they were no longer useful ditched them. Lord Howard, the Lord Admiral, paid them from his own pocket because Elizabeth couldn't be bothered to care about the men who had risked their lives for her crown.

Mary I deserves more. In these days especially. She WAS the first legally coronated and ACCEPTED REIGNING Queen to serve from the throne of England, and although she bacame known as Bloody Mary, this was propaganda spread by the protestant faction to later bolster Elizabeth. To look at the actual deeds of Mary, yes she was vicious in her sweeping immediate change back to Catholicism after having said she had no desire to create more conflict, but her people were well aware of her intentions and at that time the ruler made those choices and so according to her spiritual and legal rights she was within bounds... but she forgot the human rights of others. Elizabeth was just as "bloody" as Mary was, and for the same reasons. But she lived long enough to do some great things in return, for her people, and she was also willing to live and let live as far as religion as soon as it was made clear who was in charge and as soon as she had enough Catholic Nobles to accept her rule.

She was well educated, spoiled, then tossed aside by her father, which undoubtedly caused her great distress. I don't think she was notably intelligent, despite her education. As far as her marriage to Philip, it is fairly well documented that whilst it was a marriage arraigned for political reasons, she herself viewed it as a romantic endeavor. Not only was she a sadly pathetic, cruel, and stubborn woman, she was a Catholic zealot in a time of great religious upheaval in England. She was unsuitable as a monarch, and had she lived longer, England would have fallen to the Spanish.

Mary was sadistic and revelled in their suffering and torment and pain, she'd rather they be tortured or burned than a quick beheading, a beheading wouldn't cause a prolonged agonising enough death to please her enough. That's why she is so infamous

Whatever we suffer in this life, it does not justify the horror she did by torturing and burning 200 people at the stake, the most horrible death, just because of their religious beliefs. She committed crimes against humanity because people didn’t agree with her faith. Elizabeth suffered much the same. Her father had her mother executed when Elizabeth was 2. Until she ascended the throne, she never knew what would happen next and was jailed, too. But she did not do what Mary did. No, Mary deserves the infamy she gained. She was cruel.
