Türk işgali sırasında Selanik'in sakinleri HER ZAMAN çoğunlukta Yunanlılardı. Selanik, Balkan Savaşları'nda Yunan ordusu tarafından kurtarıldı. Atalarımın binlerce yıldır İyonya'da (Küçük Asya) yaşayan Yunanlılar olduğunu size bildiririm!
These dishes have their roots in the Greek cuisine of the Byzantine Empire, which was copied and slightly modified by the Ottomans when they conquered the Greek Byzantine Empire. I wonder where a nomadic people like the Turks, coming from the Mongolian steppes, learned to cook? Did they learn to cook on their horses? The Ottomans learned to eat at the table like humans and had hot gourmet meals, thanks to the Greeks, the real owners of Asia Minor. If you don't know, Thessaloniki is an ancient Greek city from the time of Alexander the Great. The Turks didn't bring it from Mongolia with their suitcases! Just because the Ottomans conquered it and occupied it for 4 centuries does not make it Turkish. A thief never takes ownership of what he steals! 400 years of slavery is almost nothing to Hellenism with a history of thousands of years. The inhabitants of Thessaloniki during the Turkish occupation were ALWAYS predominantly Greek. Thessaloniki was liberated by the Greek army in the Balkan Wars. I inform you that my ancestors were Greeks living in Ionia (Asia Minor) for thousands of years!

Döner is Greek my Mongol friend
@@ΕλευθέριοςΒογιατζής-β1υThe history of doner goes back to the Ottoman Empire. It has nothing to do with the Greeks, my ignorant friend.
@@G_SachsMost of the dishes in Turkish cuisine are of Ottoman origin. It has nothing to do with ancient Turkish history.
Those sweets in syrup like beans what are called pls?
If you mean the ones in four different shapes these are called: tulumba cakes. Very tasty, but also very sweet, syrup is mostly made of sugar. 🙂
PORK GYRO??
@@neilbriffa7211 Yep, mostly there is pork gyro around Thessaloniki, and some places have both pork and chicken.

I like the fact that most gyros sandwiches are pork based unlike in the middle east because of their inverted believes. Lets go Greece and keep it real!! Only one Gyros Ena, the Greek style

Thanks!
Alles von den Türken gelernt 😂😂
You didn't know how to take a bath before conquered Greek Byzantium...lol
@Κατια-ψ2πUnfortunately you have no idea my Greek friend, our religion tells us to wash ourselves 5 times a day and then you claim that we learned cleanliness from you, I'm not laughing. 😂😂
Very nice video and after I saw your comments it made me subscribe to you!
A message to our northern friends: Macedonia is Greek (Hellenic to be exact) and if you want to be Macedonians you better start learning Greek.
P.S. I'm a Macedonian with Slavic ancestry. You don't have to be the direct descendants of Aristotle to be Greek. You just need to adopt the Greek culture.
Thank you very much. Yes, I completely agree, someone wants to be a Macedonian, no problem, start speaking Greek at least.
