Actually, the Russian team reminded me the Mighty Soviet gymnastics team. Many of them actually look like and perform the Mighty Soviet Union Team in 1970-80s. Artemov, Bilozerchev, Luikin, Scherbo and Alex Nemov were re-born. In Tokyo 2021, they have the best chance to be Olympic champions like their Soviet classical style gymnasts.... Bravo, Spasibo, Rossiya!
Was so very happy for Russia (my cat name is Nikita! after Nagornyy 😻) but to see it happened because of Sun Wei absolutely break my heart 😭 he clearly blames himself, had a breakdown and was so devastated, I sobbed with him so hard 💕

Congratulations to Russia ! So well deserved with no major mistakes. Based on this final , neither china nor Russia have dominant position in team final. Russian team is more consistent but Chinese team has more difficulty. Who else is also looking forward to these two teams in Tokyo ? !!!!

Too bad that miss a catch for Sun, Russia got that chance, but overall , both of them are super strong!
The 16+ score from the Chinese was expected coming into the 4th rotation but Russia would still have the advantage had Artur scored around 15s on his PB which he didn't.
Hope there will be a Philippine Team someday. I didn’t expect myself to love watching Gymnastics. Yulo is an eye opener..

Correction, the russian team won gold first time in 28 years - since USSR became Russian Federation. So proud of our boys! They wanted this sooo badly!
No, it was Russia's first victory. The USSR is not synonymous with the Russian Federation (besides, most gymnasts in Soviet teams were Ukrainian or Belorussian - the 1991 Women's World team had no Russian gymnasts among its midst and the men's team only had 1).
Victrola66 USSR did not “become” the Russia- the USSR collapsed and split into multiple countries. The USSR teams were not exclusively Russian, making it quite misleading to say that they are synonymous
Russia is the legal inheritor of the USSR though. Where did you get the info about "no Russian gymnasts in the USSR"? :)
@@Olegstuff21986 Still, not the same team. I didn't say they were no Russian gymnasts in the USSR, but that there were few in the Soviet teams. The 1991 women's Worlds team is an example of a team without a single Russian gymnast. The 1992 Unified Team only had Grudneva (and people still bitch about it because they claim it was Kalinina's spot, a Ukrainian). Most Soviet superstars were not Russian; Korbut, Kim, Omelianchik, Laschenova, Boguinskaya, Strazheva, Gutsu, Lyssenko, Kalinina, Chusovitina, etc. There were some excellent Russians, of course, but to claim that Soviet gymnasts were Russian is inaccurate.
@@Ian.D. Well, you're talking about one year where that may have been the case but there were plenty of gymnasts from the Russian SSR. Obviously it's not the same, but Russia is generally viewed as the legal inheritor of the USSR.

Hard to believe with all the great Russian gymnasts in the past that they had never won a World team title until now. Good for them! Americans started off poorly but came back strong to finish 4th. Not bad...
Actually they have have many times, but not since 1991, after the break of Soviet Union.

Looks like the days of systematically cheating by USA and its cronies are over. In many championships deserving Russian gymnasts were downright robbed off gold medals by deliberate underscoring them. Gymnastics judges are one of the most corrupt and biased. Doping and corruption are the hallmarks of the Olympics.
