I was there! Peter sat on the lowest step of a staircase on a darkened stage, a single white spot illuminating him. When Kate's chorus arrived, a second spot lit her standing at the top of the staircase. She slowly walked down towards Peter who was smiling at the audience reaction. If I recall correctly, she was wearing the mac from the video. The song ended with the two of them skipping back and forth across the stage with 70,000 people clapping and grinning.
I was also there - jumping up and down and screaming like an idiot (as was everyone else) as soon as we realised it really was Kate. Remember it like it was yesterday
The entire audience seemed to rise to their feet and roar as the spotlight hit Kate standing on top of a staircase and started singing that chorus. To be honest, I was overwhelmed and started to sob. I remember the smile on Peter's face when he heard the audience reaction!
I wish there was a good film of it! I cling desperately to that memory! I used to have cassette tapes of the entire concert and played Don't Give Up over and over. Every time I listened to the moment that she came on I burst into tears!
I was at that gig and i seem to remember don't give up starting and just when Kate was to start singing the microphone didn't work so they started again hope someone else remembers that
I think I was there that night. If it was the Sunday and the last of 4 nights at Earl's Court. Fantastic night. Ironically I tried to get tickets for any of the first 3 nights but Sunday was all I could get.
So finally am here because i liked the love of the old dutch commercials from the 80's (and couldn't think of the candy commercial who made me remember all of the sudden ella ella al those freaking years bcause i most rarely heard that song) This song was out my active memory as well.. well here i am with only tante sidonia en suske en wiske as my frin3ds and well there is an old jazzprofessor i visit once in a while who used 2b best friends with herman brood his incredible young English wife exmodel and their daughter stayed in England and she has a girlfriend now; an actress a bit famous i guess btw.. maby he goes back.. she is a lawyer who helps russians 2 park their money.. she is very busy u can imagine... why didn't i see sooner the Suske en wiske lifestyle was perfect 4 me .. i read them all and understand my niece doesn't like it anyway my point what was my point in here.. oh yeah it was a good choice and am not complaining in here.. it served me right...
I made this recording !! I recognise it clearly, I even can hear my own voice at one point. I recorded a bunch of PG stuff on the 1987 tour, like that one : th-cam.com/video/Zv3JIid2IKc/w-d-xo.html I made only 4 or 5 copies from my very poor sounding cassettes. So the question is : HOW THE F**K DOES IT HAPPEN TO END UP ON TH-cam ?
It could be because it is absolutely amazing and whoever passed it on may have helped countless depressed people out of darkness. What an intro for Kate!
@@Phobero good for you.. any italian connection? anyway, that was a magic moment. have a great time on the new tour (i will see it tomorrow in paris and next month in bordeaux😃 )
What do you mean? Lol He s healthy and sane, still making music though it s been been 19 years since up He just released an outstanding new version of biko with many artists contributing, it literally makes me cry
Holy shit, that crowd pop when Kate Bush comes in is HUGE. Truly goosebump inducing.
I had no idea she'd be there but, of course, I hoped she would be.
I've listened to an insane amount of live concert tapes, and I have never heard a crowd as loud as when Kate starts singing
I was there. It was a moment to treasure forever.
ditto

A one off that makes us fans of both artists jealous as hell for not being there.
I really understand the crowd’s reaction, but I so wish there was a clearer recording of this.

I soooo wish I could see this!
I was there with a lady friend. She was delighted and asked me if I’d known. I merely smiled. Best lie ever 🤫
Do you remember what Kate was wearing?
@@DavidSumeray_BassGod No I can’t. White dress/gown rings a bell but I was up the back in the cheap seats.
