Hey guys, today we are going to look at a very strange structure in Mahabalipuram, this is an incredibly mysterious building built on top of a huge rock and is commonly known as the Olakkannesvara Temple. Let us climb up and see what is inside this structure. Archeologists confirm that this is at least 1300 years old, and it could even be much much older. Why was this structure built on top of a slippery boulder? Perhaps we can understand it, once we see the main idol inside the temple.
There is a metal door and it is locked, let us look at the idol inside, there is a huge pillar in the middle, and there is no idol inside. This is just extremely unusual for a temple. Just a pillar in the middle? But wait.. there is something on the left. What is it? There are steps going up, you can clearly see stone steps leading up and on top there is a square opening. The hole opens up to the sky, the top is open, because you can see sunlight coming through this hole. One thing is crystal clear, this is not a temple at all. There is no main idol and there are stairs going up with a hole on the ceiling, and what is on the right side? A wooden door, which is closed. There must be another chamber inside. What is inside that chamber? Why is this doorway locked with a metal gate? Why are there no carvings or idols inside? The entire design of this structure is very odd, almost all Hindu temples have a pointed top, an aerodynamic structure called Vimana. But this structure does not have it, instead of a pointy tower, it is designed with a flat top, as though people must go and stand on top of it. Then, there are steps leading up and there is a hole to facilitate, this hole is deliberately made big enough so people could climb up on the roof. But what were they doing on top of this structure? What is the mystery behind it?
The name of this structure is even more mysterious. It is named as 'Olakkannesvara' and this word is completely unheard of. Nobody knows anything about this term. The word Ulaikanneswara comes from Ancient Tamil language which means 'The One with Three Flaming Eyes'. And, I think it means Lord Shiva, because he has Three eyes, but there is no idol of a Three-eyed Shiva inside and there is no Vimana. So why is this building called 'Three flaming Eyes'?
Perhaps we could understand the purpose of the structure by looking at these carvings. The most bizarre carvings are the guardians on both sides of the doorway. They are very unique because they are facing sideways. These guardians are called Dwarapalakas and I have shown you so many of these statues in various Hindu temples. They are supposed to look directly at us, facing away from the doorway. However, they are facing sideways, and they are shown folding their hands and intently looking inside the chamber. Something exciting must be happening inside because this is a very strange depiction.
And on the walls, there are even stranger carvings. Who are these little guys? What are they holding in their hands? Each one is holding a Conch Shell, these guys are ready to blow the Conch and make a sound, to signal someone's arrival. The expression on these little guys is awesome, they are keenly watching something in a distance. What are they observing? Who is arriving? Are they looking for Aliens from distant space?
Walking around, I can see more Little guys holding Conch Shells. And on top of them, There is a guy pointing with his fore finger, he is pointing to a distant object. His expression is rigid, as though he is a strict officer. Underneath him, these 2 guys are ready, both wide eyed and firmly looking ahead, ready to blow the conch shell and make a siren like sound at the officer's command. What are they looking for?

That is a good one. Has five pillars and faces south. The top portion is a rectangle and is also a different geometric shape than normal. I wonder if this south
facing construction is of different dimensions geometrically. I know your are looking at the geometry and getting better. great find as usual.

This entire region, like that of Iraq, Iran, Turkey, et all is filled with information about a past more ancient than we have been told or perhaps can imagine. Ancient people were far from primitive or barbaric and civilization definitely did NOT start with the Greeks. Thank you for your tireless, provocative work, PraveenMohan.

Praveen!! 😁👍 You solved the mystery of an ancient temple in this video! This is not a common occurrence at all and you made it happen.
I don't know if anyone will read my comment but I hope somebody does. Just think about all the shows for the last 30 plus years on television about aliens, pyramids, ancient mysteries...
I have not watched close to all of these shows. I could have... but they were mostly all just the same, in one regard... ALL SPECULATIVE. Raising more questions than they answered. Usually answering no questions at all really.
How often do we watch a video like this one of yours? An ancient mystery PROBABLY SOLVED!!??
There will be detractors who disagree I'm sure. But this conclusion you've come to seems really plausible. Bravo dude!

The 3 fires is so ships can know if they are on the right course. Either the lights would seem as one or 3 according to your direction. Such techniques are used in modern days also. There might be reefs, so to indicate the shipping lane, the 3 lights should maybe line up as one (or at least be very close, maybe on top of each other.) otherwise you are too far to either side. This assures your safe passage, by managing your line of sight with 3 points.

Another important thing to mention is, that if you align the big flame square in the very middle between the subsidiary flames you know that you are aligned straight towards the harbour and not aproaching the coast at an angle.
This is very important to note, because it not only allows for the seefarer to safely find the position of the harbour at the coastline but also to avoid dangerous rocks on a non-safe-approach-way towards it.
This also is the very reason why ONLY a three-signal-installation can work in the first place at all - because of this specific, indispensable safety-function.

Why? Because man fears what he does not understand, and India has been a enigma since Alexander pushed thru there. In my opinion, these ancient builders were in possession of a "smarter" "more intelligent" "superior knowledge" ... Preveen Mohan has done amazing work by bringing this ancient structure "remains" to light ... I would like to add one other observation about this ancient lighthouse and combined life source religious structure ... the brilliance of the design with three lighthouses became apparent to me when I thought about a ship sailing towards land; the ancient sailors would initially see the light as a single light from many miles at sea, then as they approached the port they would begin to see the three separate lights due to distant light separation widening proportionally as they approach the port ... THIS IS THE BRILLIANCE OF THEIR DESIGN ... As soon as the incoming ship sees the three lights separate they would know how far they were from the port (from previous calculations during the day and then added to their charts) ... in other words ... the three lights were actually an "early range-finding system" ! ... Unfortunately by accident or design the British commandeered the port and then destroyed and replaced this superior system with their inferior single light source and the began to flood all of the news at the time with the amazing work they did by bringing their new lighthouse ... (they probably still runs tours to this day which sing the praises of the Brits who built this "Single" lighthouse ... The ancient builders were far more advanced in thinking and meaningful application of superior knowledge.

Hi Praveen! Excellent investigative work! The three eyes would likely have served another function navigationally. Modern ships and planes have a white light in the center (or at the top of the mast in a sailboat), a green light to starboard (right) and a red light to port (left). You can look at any jet at night and see from the lights which direction the jet is traveling. If you only see the central white and right green light you are looking at the vehicle from the right side. If you see all three lights and the red port light is on YOUR right, then the vehicle is coming TOWARD you. Having three lights on shore gives the navigator more detailed information about exactly where they are. The orientation of the hill means it can obscure one or more lights predictably. Maybe if you only see the highest light on the horizon, you know are still further out. When you only see two of the lights you know you are more east or west by the distance between the visible lights. Just something to consider. Thank you for all of your hard work in the field and your innovative analysis!
