I did this recipe but i slow boiled the mountain dew to its sugar base and candied the pickles after a freezer chill for about 30 minutes. Outstanding

Tbh I’m on the fence as of time of comment. I’ve not had these before, So, I will not pass judgment on these. They seem like sweet pickles. But my question is why go through all that with draining the pickles and then mixing the dew in a larger bowl?? Does it have something to do with the ratios? It looks like after everything is all drained and mixed, with the end product there is still a lot of excess juice. I’m just trying to understand.

OK… that was a genius! I would never think about that. But to me, with pickle juice & Mtn Dew drinks - that did not look good to me. And what happened on [1:40], drink spilled out, could’ve put a paper towel there just incase. But I’m sure you used a paper towel afterwards to clean up that spill.
