Don Shelton was actually one of her back up dancers at one of the Tejano Music Awards. I believe in the 1990 or 1991 Tejano Music Awards when she sang the song “Enamorada De Ti”. There’s even a video of them doing a rehearsal somewhere.
And the other back up singer Freddy Correa used to sing with the latin boy band “Barrio Boyzz” whom Selena did a duet with “Dondequiera Que Estes”. He left Barrio Boyzz to be with Selena’s band.

Selena was absolutely the Queen! Not just of Tejano, she did amazing English pop work too! I was blessed enough to meet her family on a trip to Corpus Christi in 1998, and they were so sweet. The only thing better would've been to meet Selena herself. P.s. idk if anyone told you but she was 23 when she died, just two days before her wedding anniversary, and 18 days before her 24th birthday. Thank you guys for honoring her memory! ❤️❤️❤️

Check out '' Selena top 40 ". Its a concert she did when she was 16 years old . One of the songs she did was '' Billie Jean '', and you could tell even at that stage that she was headed to superstar dome !
