Yes, she was murdered not long after this performance too. This show is the last show she ever did. She was well on her way to having an incredible career. Life cut far too short :(. You should check out Como la Flor, also from this live show. Really showed off her voice ♥

Also You might watch the movie made for her "Selena." Not for a reaction, after all a movie is FAR too long for a reaction video lol. But it's a great movie and chronicle of her life. Her family was involved in it's making, so they didn't go outside the truth.

Welcome to Selena fandom ♥️♥️♥️ I’ve been a fan since 1990! I grew up in south Texas (Poteet, TX, just south of San Antonio). I got to see her twice in concert in 1992 (I was 8 years old) and 1993 (9 yrs old). My mom and I got to meet her backstage before the first concert ♥️♥️♥️ she was super down to earth, funny, kind, and flawless. She laughed with me and mom. She asked me about school. My mom told her, “Selena, Danny was supposed to go see his abuelita (grandma) this weekend, but he threw a fit and here we are!” Lol 😂 they laughed and I got a little embarrassed but I’m glad I was a brat that night. Please do more reactions because she was meant to be heard and loved. She left a huge legacy that I’m proud of, being Mexican American myself. When she died I was upset thinking she was gonna be forgotten and people will never know how amazing she is and was. It has been the total opposite, her legacy has grown and she’s now a legend ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

This show was a huge deal because the Houston Rodeo is like Houston's SXSW and Selena was Tejana (Texas girl). She was like Beyonce for Mexican Americans and rightfully so.
It does end with a bang, this is just da beginning of the concert 🎶
She had the pyrotechnics at the end of the concert, this was the beginning of it, she is amazing btw you have to watch Como La flor or La Carcacha, she is an amazing dancer and singer the whole package

hi, i’m from Scotland and i love Selena Quintanilla Perez she is and always will be a legend, an icon. Yolanda Saldivar was the monster who murdered Selena a few weeks after the houston astrodome performance in march 1995 at the age of 23. she is missed so much not just by me but by everyone. i discovered Selena after her murder through the jlo biopic Selena love that movie. Yolanda held police off for nine and a half hours before surrendering. my fave songs are como la flor, si una vez, bidi bidi bom bom, amor prohibito. stay safe 😷🎼🎤🏴

Your reaction was fun! Selena fun fact: Selena designed this outfit specifically for this concert. She was also a fashion designer & created most of her stage outfits. She had other options but she decided to go with the now Iconic royal-magenta purple piece for this show. It was also her idea to start with a "Disco Medley" number. Her biggest goal was to become an International Superstar.

Disco was one of Selena's favorite genres, especially Donna Summer. The guy playing the brown and white guitar is her husband and the guy wearing glasses and playing bass is her brother. The black guy died of cancer.
This is beauty and talent at its finest. All natural and no auto tune or computer enhancements.
There are amazing fireworks at the end of her Spanish tex-Mex concert, which is this same concert.
The disco part was just a warm up and it was her dream to sing these English songs.
I saw this concert in 1995 on the tv Live, when she was still alive and it was amazing.

Selena was a Tejano legend in the 80's & 90's who was murdered by her fan club president. I recommend you watch the movie Selena where JLo portrays her. She was headed for bigger things, even started a cross-over album into pop. She was amazing raw talent. No singing or dance lessons, just herself. She adored her fans & often interacted with them . It would be great to see you react to her other performances in this concert, and her other music in general. Once you start watching her perform it’s clear what a beautiful free spirit she was. So charismatic and engaging with an over the top beautiful voice. This was so much a part of her appeal and why she grew to become so popular. She knew how to work a stage for sure. She exudes so much confidence. This whole concert is like one big party! I mean I speak and understand very little Spanish, but still love to watch and listen to her! They are Awesome. They have both Spanish and English songs. Los Dinos means 'the family'. SELENA'S brother AB on base, husband Chris lead guitar, her sis Suzette was not playing on the drums at this concert. She sprained her ankle. Anyway, great Review. Thanks. 😊🎈

The first song was originally sung by Gloria Gaynor, yes she was murdered by her Manager ( Head of her Fan Club) because she was caught stealing Money from her. She made all her own clothes for her concerts and she was about to make her Cross over from Spanish to English as her first Single was completed and then she was killed. she would have prob. still be doing Music today!

The guy in the background dancing is also a backing vocalist. Not just a dancer :). Also, she designed that outfit she's wearing there. She was a fantastic clothing designer too and opened a clothing store with her designs before she died. I THINK it's still in business, run by her husband now.

She is one of the most famous latin artists of all time. As she broke multiple records, sold out tons of concerts, and is still being talked about and celebrated till this day. There’s a really good movie that was released back in 1997 about her life and rise to fame, starring Jennifer Lopez as Selena. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Continues to break records due to her devoted fan base who keep her legacy alive. And Selena Gomez was actually named after her.

Jennifer Lopez played Selena in the movie. This is the movie that made JLO famous!!! Its such a tragic story. She was shot by her woman who worked with her and they were very close. The woman was taking embezzling money from selena and her fans! She had just gotten fired.

Disco Lesson: Gloria Gaynor sung I Will Survive, Funkytown was sung by Lipps Inc., Last Dance is sung by Donna Summer, The Hustle sung by Van McCoy, On The Radio is also sung by Donna Summer. I was a little disappointed that a disco fan couldn't remember who sung "I will survive" - that is the holy grail of disco. On a personal note I am proud of you, most newfies don't know how to operate machinery let alone make a TH-cam video.
