One of the first things I do when I buy a tent is exchange the pulls on my stakes with para cord an ss tie them myself. Never have a issue with them coming undone
I bought this tent off your review! I'm over in the uk and bought it for my North Wales motocamping trip ! I must admit, out off all the tent I've purchased, I must say this was the lightest and easier tent to put up, I mostly used the side entrance, loads of room, bought the optional poles for the canopy, I kept the guidelines taught throughout my trip and didn't see any sagging, very good buy and looking forward to using again ! It did rain through my trip, obviously because it was Wales. ! Kept me dry, no leaks !!!!!
For me, a convertible four season tent is a win. Being able to open up for venting or sealing up completely for harsher conditions isn't always done well and this looks like they took that into consideration. Thanks for the review, I'll likely be checking this out for myself.
This is honestly the first tent I've seen you review that I've been truly excited about. I'm looking forward to a rain test and might get one myself even!
Hi Luke, now THAT is everything I want in a tent. It's perfect. Spendy, however, my Coleman has lasted 25 years and I camp 10x A year at least. It's faded and tired So to spend that much for quality, it should last me until I'm 85! By then it will have to be a motorhome ...NEVER!.
I sorta tent in my truck canopy, but this tent is without a back up for me. In Canada the weather can be brutal...thank you so much for your work...be safe.
Interesting tent. Luke, I would like to see you review more traditional, mid tier brand tents from the likes of MSR, Northface, BigAgnes, REI, Snowpeak, Nemo, Coleman etc. I like to see you calling out the garbage companies and exploring the low cost options. But also want to see review of stuff someone with a little more disposable income would like to invest in and use for the next 5-10 years. Just a thought. Others: like if you'd like to see this too.

I have a simler desind tent. The Vango Delta 200 Alloy Tent is a front-and-side-entry tunnel tent which comes with two canopy poles to create a sheltered porch area
What was old is new again. I had an MSR tent, about 25 yrs ago, that was very much like that. It was a favorite tent. I gave it to a friend after switching to a hammock and tarp.

Thanks for this, had no idea Onetigris had released new tents. This model (Cometa) looks a lot like one of my dream tents, the Helsport Fonnfjell Superlight 2, but twice as heavy at 1/3 of the price. Looking forward to more videos about this tent! If the quality is good this will be my next glamping tent. Thx for some great reviews!

I've already decided to buy one for myself. I'd love to get the camo one, but will settle on the black one based on price. I like the style and the amount of room it has inside. I also like that awning very much. I'll bet that One Tigris has already done extensive testing to assure that it's waterproof. But I'm guessing.
@@spritsfal5088 So true on the additional cost but camo netting adds more weight in your pack which is a big negative. Weight is your enemy when your humping gear.

I would love to be able to extend my camping into the winter, but with the prices of a true four season tent is out of my budget. Fingers are crossed this kicks butt. @@stizzlesteak atleast you said I didn't have to 😂. We still have winter here that is why I need a great tent for a good price. All kidding aside enjoy the u.p.
Thanks for reviewing this. I knew this video was coming and waited patiently. However, I don't think I'm patient enough to see the testing lol. I've already made my purchase from One Tigris. Thank you Luke. Be safe out there
Black is cool! I have been looking at a LOT of mountain top videos with the "F" and "H" brand tents. The aggressive bath tubs are a good thing! One guy had a river running through his tent because the storm changed from snow into rain. Because it was night and the high winds, all he and his dog could do was sit on the mat to stay dry. Also I am wanting to see the ventilation on this tent. At 65mph+ winds snow finds ways of getting in.
"Black Tigris" I like the branding-invites thoughts of Hilleberg's Black Label tents, without being as good, I'm sure, nor nearly as high of an investment.
Interesting. Has some pretty unique features. I have high hopes for it. This might end up in my collection, at some point. Let the TESTING BEGIN!!! THANKS Luke.
Looks like a pretty nice tent. Looking forward to your rain test. I am a little leery about the top without a rain fly but I am sure you will put it through the paces. Stay safe and God bless.
Most 4 season tents do not have rain fly's. Single wall is how most of them are. It makes them stronger with less fail points to be one piece and blocks wind more.
Love this design for warm weather. Maybe experience the mystery refers to the open sided design which allows the user to more easily see and feel like they're not in an enclosed structure more open to environment and vice versa? I see you (nature), you see me!!
Very interested in this tent. Looking forward to the upcoming reviews especially the rain resistance. If it passes your real life rain test I will buy it. Appears to be very well designed. Love your channel too! Great job!
I really like the design of this tent, big and open. Very nice and even I can afford it!! I can't wait for further testing, especially in the rain and wind.
Tigris, I hunt & camp in Central Louisiana from October thru early January. I like to be able to stand up in a tent & sleep on a folding cot to be off the ground. Each company makes a variety of sizes & styles. Which would you recommend for this location & season that I can stand up in & have lots extra space to get dressed & store my baggae & stuff? Its ok to recommend more than one. Thx's, Deer Man Out
Nice, I love the color especially when winter/snow camping...I am assuming that the north end of the tent is the windward portion and the south is the leeward door down stream of wind. Not sure how well it is adapted to cook, ie the vestibule if there even is one. I don't know if I like using my gas stove inside the tent is wise and I did not see any vents if you are buttoned up inside to avoid the snow and wind. Do they even have vents in 4 season tents?
A tent with the same awning design that has been on the market long is the: Helsport Fonnfjell, Norwegian tent maker you should check out btw. Love the videos too.
I have been looking at these, but the possible heat issues due to color had me at a pause. Hopefully you are correct and it will not be a serious issue.
Hey Luke! As it happens, I was just looking up the derivation of the word "experience" : Like the similar "experiment", its literal meaning is "out of (from) trial (or try-ing, risk-ing)". 4 season tent, but no snow skirt? I like the space in it though, and the side entrance with the awning. A black tent in winter on a sunny day may be nice and warm.
Thanks! I’d love it if you could get your hands on a onetigris solo homestead TC tent. I just got mine and would enjoy comparing your findings with what I find.
That looks like it would make a good tent for scouts. Weight isn’t an issue as we trailer our gear for most campouts. Looks easy to set up. Would be good for October to April camping in the Midwest. Looking forward to the next review.
Only thing I can say that it needs is a vestibule over the end door otherwise when it is raining, rain will fall inside the tent Also after the last issues that you had with a 1 tigris tent I will wait until you do the waterproof test. If it does not leak I may consider it for my winter tent
Impressively big tent in a small package and at a low price. I sure hope it's actually waterproof. The side awning would be great to cover my motorcycle.
Not a bad price and I am sure a lot of people looking at winter camping would enjoy this tent. I still have plenty of time to wait before buying, looking forward to the review and test video.
My biggest problem with this tent is that the inner requires the fly. To me, it's a 4th season rather than a 4 season tent. Georgia can be hot, so I usually pitch a mesh inner without a fly unless rain threatens. Still, I like the design, particularly the double doors on the inner and the awning. Since the fly is required, I'd also prefer an opening on the side opposite the awning to allow more airflow, but for winter camping, it's not an issue. I'll likely buy this tent or the Stella. If the Stella had both mesh and fabric doors and if the Stella's fly reached the ground, the decision would be easy, so I'm leaning toward this one. I won't need a winter tent for another month, but I'm determined to camp in the winter this year. The sagging in rain that you report in your overnight video concerns me, but I avoid camping in the rain, and suppose I can use tarp clips to add guy lines to the top of the tent though I worry about clips damaging the pole sleeve. A tear in the sleeve might leak into the tent, and even if it didn't, water in the sleeve would be practically impossible to remove. I really don't like pitching a tent with poles in long sleeves ...
That would be great for a day hike if you are going out and there is a possibility of rain or storm threat and if it does leak would be a good shelter and the awning you can set low and tilted to one side for air flow and comfort to heat up water for coffee or fix something to eat.
I bought their smaller Tetra tipi after viewing your video. It works very well for what I want. Looks like after some misfires OneTigris is becoming a force in the tent market.
I'm a good 200 miles southwest of you, so I don't need a 4 season tent, but that awning setup alone is so slick for overly extravagant outdoor cooking, my favorite camping pass time, I'm very interested.
I like both the Nebula and this Comets tent. The black color is awesome and there is a lot to be said for this color. All tents get hot in the sun. Nothing new there! The design offered plenty of room and comfort. Would I get one? Sure, if I wasn't 70 years young!
Being a 4 season tent, my only real concern is snow loading. Without some peak guy lines, I think this thing may collapse under any real snow. Light to moderate would be fine. I don't think this one will leak but only time will tell. I like the design but would probably go a different route if heavy snow is forecasted.
Looks a great bit of kit. Be interested to see it hold up in wet weather & more importantly if it copes with snow load with only 2 poles. Perhaps that is extreme weather though. S & H.
A cheap camo netting over the top will both add the overpriced camo effect you want (and better due to the texture), but also lofting effect to absorb sun before it hits the tent surface.
yep, I purchased cammo netting from my Military surplus store and could easily be thrown over the tent when set up but secured. Netting will add to the weight and stress on the poles, something to think about. Would be really cool if they had snow camo netting. You get the benifit of the black for warmth and background against the white for snow.
@@rthompson884 It is hard to even find a setup online that isn't either so synthetic feeling or just so damn noisy. A white and grey soft one with some spattering of tan for leaves would be great. Thanks for the holler!
Also, I was approaching with my comment as it was for use when things are actually green, trying to keep the black from attracting the sun. Makes way more sense now to provide the heat in winter. 🤓
It is true that the concept is different. There is more space inside, on the foot & head end, but it comes at a loss of semi-dry space between rainfly and inner tent. 29'' is narrow for cooking when you need to keep the rainfly closed. A simple olive green would have been nice as it is less visible during day.
I saw the "do not use in extreme conditions" note as well and was a bit hesitant about it. Hopefully, by extreme conditions they mean don't use it as a mountaineering or base camp tent on Everest or something where you are looking at extreme high winds.
Black makes sense for the 4th season (winter) as it will hopefully melt/shed snow quicker. With those 2 doors the venting should be good in warmer months too. The Baker awning is great... but my first thought was how much snow will be trapped near the top during a snow fall. I'm assuming you can just drop your polls or use shorter sticks so snow sheds off without stressing the tent where the awning meets the top part of tent. Looking forward to your follow up vids on this... Thanks, love your in depth reviews!
This is a Backwoods Bungalow baker style tent on steroids. Yes a bit heavier because it's a double wall tent where the inner resides, plus the poles add weight. But, it makes set-up easier in a wider variety of places.
Love it❤

Looks a lot like the Quechua tunnel tents. I like the 2 doors instead of one like Quechua.. That mesh is awesome!
Pretty similar to a Swag, popular in Austrailia. Difference is they use canvas and have a sleeping pad built in.
I like both the Nebula and this Comets tent. The black color is awesome and there is a lot to be said for this color. All tents get hot in the sun. Nothing new there! The design offered plenty of room and comfort. Would I get one? Sure, if I wasn't 70 years young!
If this passes the tests it will be my next tent awesome design!
I would like to see a light weight 3 season version of this!
There is, this tent is a ripoff of another brand
Fonnfjell 2 superlight, weighs 2kg and is the same design
@@cybervand the ff2 is super expensive though. I'd rather carry 3kg / tougher materials for 400€ around instead of 2kg for close to 1000€.
@@WatchMysh except this tent is 4 kg directly from onetigris site
For a 4 season??🤔
Being a 4 season tent, my only real concern is snow loading. Without some peak guy lines, I think this thing may collapse under any real snow. Light to moderate would be fine. I don't think this one will leak but only time will tell. I like the design but would probably go a different route if heavy snow is forecasted.
any idea of when you are going to be doing a rain test?
Mt man here slept in all types of tents here in the mtns never seen one yet that would keep u dry u need 2 rain flys on top of those tents helps some
Looks a great bit of kit. Be interested to see it hold up in wet weather & more importantly if it copes with snow load with only 2 poles. Perhaps that is extreme weather though. S & H.
I really like the design. I hope it passes the waterproof and condensation tests!
This looks like an awesome tent. Love the design!
@@rthompson884 Or just put a camo tarp over top? You're gonna need a big one though as this is a pretty beefy tent.
Would still rather have a light netting for the loft and light diffraction instead.
If the actual test/review goes well, I'm getting one.
I’m sure he’ll find something wrong with it
Being a black tent, it will absorb a lot of heat, but the awning gives you extra shelter room for gear. That is so much airflow.
Cool tent! I'll wait for the rain test before I buy one. (Although, I'm pretty sure it'll pass.)
In interested in how stable it will be, but most quality companies use such warnings exactly in the way you stated.
Looking forward to learning how it functions in wind, rain, wet snow. Price and features looks really appealing. :D
Thanks, Luke. As far as the tent goes for now, it looks awesome. Will be looking forward to your video on the rain test.
This is a Backwoods Bungalow baker style tent on steroids. Yes a bit heavier because it's a double wall tent where the inner resides, plus the poles add weight. But, it makes set-up easier in a wider variety of places.
