I just used a blow out bed but to be honest I have sold the camper since, I was thinking that a pull out bed on sliding rails would be a far better option if you got heavy duty draw runners that could hold 100kg plus and slide the extension out at night it would be perfect

Hi Sam, honestly I’m failing to remember what it was now. I think it was 3”x2” for the frame and 18mm ply then. I seen a bed recently with pull out sliders it was a brilliant idea the channel is Josh Oakes check that out I can’t remember the video but it was fairly recent.

Aside from the internal wiring for the rear tail lights etc there is nothing else, that runs through the original wiring loom to the rear, I didn’t put any electrical into the rear of the van, the lights are battery push lights, sink has the foot pump. Hope that helps thanks 😊

I can’t fully remember what dimension the bed were I think the legs / frame was 4” x 2” or 100mm x 50mm, the ply wood was 3/4” or 18mm hope that helps 😊.

Hi Rodrigo, the spare tyre on the berlingo is underneath the van, it’s on the outside. You will need a spanner and socket set as there is a bolt and frame holding it up to the underside of the van and normally they are rusted on. Hope that helps.

Hi Finn, I put in those ceiling ribs to give a bit more depth for insulation and to keep the ceiling fairly flat as the metal ribs on the roof of the berlingo are fairly thin. If you use something like tec-7 or stix-all (these will not come off when dry and have super strong bonding capabilities) and screw where ever you find enough depth on the metal ribs on the roof so that when you screw to it it won’t pierce the outside skin of the van, I think I put a few mails in the top part near the drivers cabin to hold it whilst the stuff I used to stick it dried. If you use a decent bonding glue like the ones suggested above it won’t come down and you can then use small screws to screw your ply to the ceiling of the van. We’ll that’s what I did anyway, hope that helps and thx for watching 👍🏼.

There is a rib going across the middle of the roof somewhere as far as I remember, and there should be a double skin somewhere near that sliding door rail. I can’t fully remember to be honest.

Thank you, the frame butted up to the wheel arch and the top of the bed / seat sat just ontop of the wheel arch. Where the drawer slides in and out that is where the frame ends, the rest is supported ontop of the wheel arch which offers adequate support for such a small portion of the bed. I was using a blow up small double on it, but you could use cushion and use that as the seat cushion during the bench mode. Thanks for watching :)

Hi Stephen, yeah i painted it in grey emulsion and then varnished over it. Probably should have done it a different way as the varnish yellowed the color a little.

@@DjSilish something a we bit different the seats in the van i bought needs a good clean seen people use Drill brushes are these any good i was thinking brush with some 1001 carpet cleaner might do the trick

@@deranocasper Yep indeed, drill brushes will make it quicker but a decent scrubbing brush from a pound shop will do the trick also, any kind of carpet cleaner should be good. If you can get some AutoSmart G101 that will de-grease and clean them in one its super cheap if you can get some. If you dont have a carpet extractor dont soak the seat and use loads of microfibres to try and draw out the dirt, throw into a tub once saturated. Hope that helps. :)

Bolted to front bulkhead, floor and side of the van, can be easily removed. Thx for watching :)

I had the same thought. I'd cut a long diagonal slit in the four longest pieces and join them back together so they were strong vertically but kind of weak horizontally. If they rest on a vertical support posts then they would take the weight of people but in a crash they should deform and allow the rear half of the bed to collapse into the front. Similar thing with the top sheets, a diagonal cut so the back half can slide up and over. The whole thing would basically need a slight redesign.

Hi Linda, I did although it did yellow the color of the emulsion a little. The emulsion and varnish were both water based and the varnish was a satin. Hope that helps :).
