    We need to be kind to ourselves. We all will ALWAYS have blind spots. So people totally lack self awareness there are health conditions which can compound this. Be aware YES kindly uplift one another but most of all don’t forget to love people warts and all. Correct in love. God bless

    23:37 Christian friendship is definitely a lost art. My spiritual director is good at holding up a mirror to me, though, and as a very single man I need and appreciate it.

    Cringe Catholicism is best experienced with a parlour piano playing during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

      Better than some housewives singing off key. While it should be irrelevant, I have left Catholic Churches because of the horrendous nature of the choir. I would prefer the howling of coyotes outside my home at night.

    i try to encourage other students at my campus to pray the hours with me, two questions
    1) in general as the prayer of the church the hours are a communal prayer, but as im at a college and not in religious life should i keep this as a private devotion and not share it?
    2) when other people come to the church to pray while im doing the hours should i just finish silently so as not to disturb them, or should i finish as i started(i usually chant the major hours)

    There are certain people who push their own spirituality for a certain person Louisa Picarreta (?). They are leaders of a legitimate recognized ministry but, push the Louisa Picarreta canonization by her writings and home meetings. They downplay the work of the Divine Will in our great Saints, that Louisa only had perfect Divine Will. They have home meetings for their personal agenda and lack the participation in the ministry they lead. This is confusing on their allegiance to their Church ministry and pushing the canonization of Louisa Picarreta. I pray for all individuals within our Church ministries. May we find our true spiritual journey to Jesus. 🙏🎚🙏 26:49

      Every one of Luisa's writtings were filled with gloom and apocalypse. This would only appeal to a certain mental state of being that is negative and desires total destruction to everything we know. It is a sickness to attach unto this woman. She seemingly never had an uplifting thought in her entire life.

    At about 17:30 in, the topic is "... there is the devotional, you HAVE to pray to be a good Catholic...". I appreciate the comment because when I hear about all the special prayers, each of which sound wonderful, but trying to do them ALL seems like it will be far too legalistic and mechanistic. Nothing wrong with any of them, but it would seem we need to find a spiritually meaningful group of prayers and devotions that don't confuse or overwhelm us and correlate with our state in life. If what we are praying... rosary, St. Michael prayer, wearing the Miraculous Medal... whatever the combination, if those are keeping us in God's presence through the day, if these support and enrich our mass experience, confession, etc., then we have the right combination. Other thoughts?

      When in prayer 🙏 rarely thinking or praying for ourselves is key in my opinion.. 💝❤️

    • @wishIwuzskiing
      @wishIwuzskiing ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mystblueangel to love is to desire the good of the other, so that is wise advice. And it can be balanced with the prayer Christ Himself gave us, in which there are references to our needs "... give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses..." so we are following the direction of Jesus that in some of our prayer be properly oriented for God to bless us and forgive us. God loves all His creatures and wants to bless us so we can live in the joy of His love. And in that love and joy, orient our actions to the good of others.

    17:55 - yes!! Sometimes it feels like if one doesn't have a devotion to the rosary, well then you NEED to have a devotion to the rosary! I personally made a commitment to pray the rosary every day during my husband's deployment in the form of several 54-day rosary novenas, but after I'm done with those I think I'm going to try a different Marian devotion, like the Akathist to the Theotokos which is an eastern Catholic devotion. To me, the important thing is to be close to the Blessed Mother, even if that just means praying the Hail Mary multiple times a day! Plus, as a busy mom I have to prioritize my focused prayer time, and I'd much rather prioritize trying to pray part of the Divine Office, since that is the prayer of the Church, over any private devotion.

    For some reason, I just envisioned a fast food Catholicism outlet like McDonalds. You walk in and up on the menu are the sacraments. "I'd like a number 1 and a number 3 please". i have no idea where this came from but probably not the Holy Spirit. But knowing American culture, perhaps some day there will be "FAST SACRAMENTS" outlets to capture the 15 second attention span of the average American.

    It's weird uh, i couldn't watch all of the American office. David Brent's brutality (from the UK version) made it hard to endure Michael's genuine naivete in the same way you feel bad that a half frozen rat is dropped into a snake's cage at a carnival. And actually that's when i wondered if beyond the Golden rule there ought to be one of platinum. If i treat u how i prefer or am comfortable with being treated myself... do i do a disservice to you?

    Another cringe is the Novus Ordo praising false religions. For example: John Paul II, Address at Airport in Korea, May 3, 1984: “Yours is a proud and sturdy people…bearing splendid fruits in art, religion, and human living. Your ancestors embraced such overwhelming spiritual worlds as Confucianism and Buddhism, yet made them truly their own, enhanced them, lived them and even transmitted them to others. Wonhyo and Sosan…eloquently express this feat.”

      @@2bit661 I don’t need to find a verse where Jesus does explicitly Catholic things because I don’t believe in the man made tradition of Sola Scriptura. you need to find verses where Catholic things are explicitly condemned. Saint Paul refers to himself as a spiritual father later in the New Testament, and it doesn’t seem to be portrayed as a bad thing. Also Catholics don’t worship Mary. I don’t think many Protestants actually know what worship is.
