    i have a question: i have a heavily planted tank my discus fish hide all the times behind the plants,they hardly swim around. is it normal behaviour for discus to hide behind the plants when they are in heavily planted tanks?

      Yes and no. Planted tanks usually use dark substrate. This can and usually does stimulate your Discus to camouflage for safety. This can become a habit and also interupt the natural pecking order. This creates a cycle where the pecking order never gets worked out. How old are your Discus and what colors are they?
