Hi Dan New to your channel, I found you through @Squatch253 I have a ztu over here. It was a lease, lend tractor that came to Britain during WW2. Sadly the tractor tag is missing. Mine has the over wheel fenders you mentioned. Would you know what years of production were for the larger fender tractors ?? Carl.
According to the information I can find z and r crankcase is not the same r has 4 inch stroke and 2 main bearings zt has 4.5 inch stroke and 3 main bearings the za zb have 3 main bearings and a 5 inch stroke
Just got back from Iowa and saw you'd got the ZTU into the workshop. I'm looking forward to seeing run, mine hasn't run since 1975 but I'm hoping to start working on it before the end of summer. Some exhaust valves are stivking but the engine is free, hopefully it shouldn't take too much to get running again. I have the earlier crown fenders that you mentioned, no rear wheel weights, and pressed steel wheels. I believe the very early models had cast wheels. Mine also has the PTO and Power Lift fitted, I also have a rear toolbar for it that attaches under the engine and is raised by the power lift. Looking forward to the next video, I've got a few of your videos to catch up on. All the best. Peter. 🇬🇧🚜
I assume the radiator cap is about 5 ft off the ground (z t u )? Anglo agri parts has a list of John Deere serial numbers , I assume they have other brands of tractors also.
Dan, nice tour of the ZTU. Enjoyable video. Thanks

The MM / White dealer at Hawk Point, MO told me the Z block was used in the R, the factory just sleeved the bore down.

Thanks for all your insight 😊😊
Hey Dan, if you end up removing the PTO delete, I’d like to have it for my 1940 ZTU. Looking forward to following your progress on this one!
