Thanks Team Gav another great update. Love the Gif. A decent winter maybe. Please all those watching NO talk on Global Warming on here. Plenty of places for that.
Hi Gav. I think the weather at the moment is acting very strangely. I think we could be in for a memorable cold winter. Lots of northern blocking around.
There was so much snow here in central Scotland in November/December 2010, that it didn't fully melt until February, 2011. It only very slowly got milder towards February and the last snow that fell was something like 6th January but that fall was tiny compared to what fell at the end of November, 2010.
I remember very well even in Blackpool where I lived at the time in 2010... snow lay for weeks and I'd never seen so much of it either. As you may know Blackpool barely gets any snow
Hi Gav, Well, well, another epic episode! The analogues were very interesting,, and we could just *possibly* have a colder than usual winter . A very interesting look at the North Atlantic SST data , but don't we have have records of SST from the early 20th centurry? Silly me, maybe we didn't have the technology then!
Gavin, respect for your channel! You have a lot of experience. What are the signals that predict a cold winter? Based on experience. Greetings from Belgium.
@@GavsWeatherVids HAHA I know! What I don't understand is that we don't have a lot of Easterly winds during winter. I thought climate change meant Easterly winds in January but no freezeing temperatures anymore......
Hopefully a cold and snowy winter is coming
Great Update👍
Fingers crossed Fisk :D

Cheers Gavin for fourth winter updates awesome thanks 👍👏

February 2018 is the coldest month i can properly remember. Hopefully we get into a cycle of cold winters

Thanks Joseph. Have certainly been some unusual weather patterns recently, right?
Thank's Gav and the team for the Winter 2024/25 Forecast: Fourth Update. Very interesting update with the SST anomalies, ENSO etc.

Same here in Burgas,Bulgaria, snow 10 years ago never melt down for less than a month...now only remaining for small periods of 2-3 days,
2010-11 was the snowiest year in 100 years where i live in america. We pretty much had nonestop snow for months that year
What a winter to remember 2010/11 was!
@@GavsWeatherVids I don't think we will ever see a winter that severe again
winter is just around the corner, team Gavs updates brings it a little bit closer 🥶🧊
Cheers Matthew :)
Let's hope we get a cold and snowy winter this year.
Amazing next weekend first winter season model look at 2024/25
Yes. Thanks Roberto :)

Thanks Mark :)
Another epic Gav

I want all the snow! Fingers crossed and everything else, except my eyes otherwise I won’t see it 😝

Year 2022 I think closes Gavin👍😊class
The mount tonga eruption released an extra 10-15% of water vapour into the atmosphere...
Really interesting Gav.
Thanks Tracey :)
Can't wait for the swingometer
2021 I think and 2012 nearly.
Very interesting update
Love seeing the cold years
Thanks Ben. I thought 2012, too lol!
2013, 2012, 2010 and 1990 are the most similar IMO (besides the last few years).
Cold winter it is then ;)
🎉🎉❤
Lovely epic
Do you think it is going to be a cold winter
Yes. I think Europe will experience a colder than average winter.
Too early to say.
Anyone watching from Slovenia?😊
Hello to Slovenia :)

Thanks Tiny. That's what we're trying to work out, lol!

I saw that the zonal winds at 10hpa Aka the PV are weaker than normal, even record-breaking weak.
Yes, zonal winds have been quite unusual during September
Near to 2010.
Snow storm in south africa
I've heard some talk of a Canadian warming already.
Would be very early days for that, Harley :)
@@GavsWeatherVids exactly that is why I'm surprised im already hearing stuff about it.
Thankyou for your forecast i hopexwe dont get a snowy winter,i dont mind the cold but please no snow.
Majority of people are hoping for a cold and snowy winter😮
@@avril4ewa I know and then when it comes people will moan about it and wish it was warn again.
Because we are no longer used to cold and snow, due to global warming and change in the jet stream.
