This is popular in Trinidad where it's called doubles
Similar but not the same....Doubles is fried soft and the sauce is channa only, no potato. Also the the bara dough is sticky and when fried is soft and isnt stuffed with dhal or whatever the man is stuffing the dough with. Im from Trinidad by the way but yes the dishes we eat here are of East Indian influence and culture but some of it is quite unique and also different in some ways.
