I don’t do many videos but I do use a variable 8 stop ND filter for photography. Especially here in the East around the Smokies taking waterfall photos. I prefer early morning natural light but a lot of the Falls here in northern Ga are restricted to hiking until sun is already up. I notice you’re using a very nice lens so Please buy the best filters you can get for your good glass. Kind of like cheap sunglasses on my prime canon lenses vs a good set. Good luck and can’t wait for your videos with Thomas. Them and your hiking alone videos are my favorite. Keep up the great work.
YESSSS Guuren Lagaan is such an amazing anime (except for the graphics). Amazing morals in the story AND Kamina and Yoko are also hot- so there's that too lol. Thanks for linking the library talk too! Will definitely check it out! 💙
Hey Robby I would recommend being careful using cheap VNDs due to X pattern. I had it before and it is probably one of the most annoying image issues. When cheap VNDs pushed too far sometimes a weird dark X pattern appears in the middle of the frame.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a variable ND filter is nothing more than two polarizer filters stacked. So you will always have color issues with those. And I would say that the point you mount it on the thread matters, may have identical filters, but if it's mounted 180 degreed more than the other then the filtering will be off.
I think he's said in another vlog that it's not practical for them to bring a drone in addition to all the camera gear they already bring + the time it takes to set up a shot

We do actually! Just not very often because most places we go to don't allow them.

Have you tried putting loctite on those screws? Should help them stay put longer
Go get some semi permanent threadlocks (Loctite) for them screws and you won't have an issue of them screws coming loose.
