I'm from Rhyl, (don't laugh), but I live in the US now. I love your show, and so does my American husband. When I was a kid, a gang of us used to regularly walk along the river from Rhyl to Rhuddlan and play in the castle all day. They used to let local kids in free. On the rare occasions we got some snow, we'd try sledding down Twt Hill using cardboard boxes - never very successfully! It's truly miserable there in the rain - thanks for sticking with it.
In the words of Billy Connolly..'there's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes'😂..well done both of you,was a great vlog, you will be rewarded on your next outing with loads of sunshine ☀️ ☀️
Thank you, for coming to Wales showing the rain (and sun we occasionally have! ) as someone who lives here but is house bound mostly it has been lovely to see places that brought back happy memories. Also just want to say well done sticking it out in th rain as long as you did and thank you ❤ keep making the videos they are wonderful
You are absolute troopers for bringing us a tour of the castle and the area,we've been there but in the sun...clares face said it all but you pushed through, thanks guys.
Love going away in the rain. Just stay in the van. The sound of rain on the roof, watching telly makes it. Love the wet map joke. We did a tour of West wales in February one year. It was so wet for the whole 4 days the coast guard was patrolling the streets.
You went over & above for our enjoyment & we thank you 👏👏 I hope that Pablo & Dora’s coats were more waterproof ☔️☔️🐶🐶 they deserve a special treat for having to suffer in all that rain 💦💦. Always appreciate your efforts can’t wait to see some of Claire’s drone footage xx
Well done for carrying on, it was very informative and Claire’s woebegone expressions were very funny, but the lass came smiling through all the way. Wishing you both good adventuring and will be watching out for further videos. I was a volunteer worker at the charity shop in Rhuddlan you both walked past. Love the repartee banter between you both it’s worth watching for that alone 😂Wondering if Penryn Castle is on your agenda. It’s on the way to Bangor, the walk from the road to the castle is lovely under a canopy of tall wooded trees. 😊
Hi both, can I just say you two are simply brilliant. Pure class and top comedy you both make the wife and me chuckle. Over and above the comedy your factual information and tips are brilliant. We’ve only just came across you in the last week so thank you both for entertaining us as said just pure brilliant and informative. Love the videos and please don’t stop 👍 Dave & Sharon 😉
Wow.....high level of commitment in this one.......the effort made by yourself to read that deteriorating map was easily the funniest thing I've seen in ages, and Claires expression of water loggged doldrums was amusing to say the least.....water resistant clothing a bloody rip-off...but the display of humour under testing conditions....should earn you both a high distinction in the halls of TH-camrs....and a fun episode...keep em coming....I'm watching these in no particular order to slowy catch up......love the castle stuff though....don't have any of those in Aus.
Thank you so much guys for your North Wales vlog and braving the clement elements bless you both. Bet that pint and a bit food sorted you and the hounds. Fingers crossed for better weather to come your way, chin up, your always a tonic on a dreary day best wishes intrepid travellers. Some lovely castles throughout all of Wales mostly built by Edward 1 aka Long shanks who dominated the welsh totally and used them extensively as canon fodder during his wars against the scots.
I live in Rhyl not far from Rhuddlan. I absolutely loved this!! ♥️ It is so much better on a sunny day lol! The clear figures on the benches are to represent fallen soldiers in WW1. The figures of the medieval soldiers carved from an oak tree wear Christmas hats and tinsel at Christmas 😂 xx
Just subscribed and not long been viewing your channel, thoroughly enjoying your travels and historical information, you two seem to hit it off with the public as you are both very likeable people, keep up the good work guys.👏👏
You can get the scene on TH-cam where he crashes the bike look for yourselves it's quite clear to see it ain't changed much there and that scene was way back in1973. You can even see the castle you was in. In the background. Happy good memories. Thank you for this video
The church in your blogs is St Mary's. Both my parents and my second eldest baby sister are buried there. It's a beautiful Church and it's really peaceful. Enjoyed the castle, haven't been since they have put stairs there. I must take a visit, when weather is slightly better. We'll done for braving the rain and carrying on with the blog. Hope you both didn't get colds. Lovely dogs you have ❤
That bridge over the Clwyd at 19 - 20 mins is the very same where Arthur and Olive lost their luggage in the film of 'On the Buses'. Classic British comedy.😜 You were so amazing enduring that weather.
Love the pair of you, both of you are so entertaining and you bounce of one another so funny. Well done for braving the rain 👏from Jackie and ken Johnson
Liked, subscribed, and now commenting, you need to take with you folded in your pocket, an A4 plastic page protector, for your maps on rainy days. Love your banter. ❤
Your funniest yet, our newly returned son (long story) chuckled throughout ! The birds were gold finches, after the thistle seeds. Just brilliant guys, could tell Claire was P'd off, so funny !! Bargain Sunday lunch too.🤣👍👍
Hi guys. Top work soldiering on despite the weather. Clare's face was a picture 😅 Some waterproof coat advice, no Gortex coat is waterproof if you wash it and don't retreat it. I've got a RAB coat that is 100% waterproof. Mountain Equipment are very, very good. Expensive but good. As they told me when I was in the RAF, your skin is waterproof. I always get me coats from Regatta, usually pretty dependable & waterproof. Most of all though, I'm a cheapskate and the discounts on their site are unbelievable. Thanks for getting wet for our pleasure, great upload!
We have been camping in similar weather and you just get on with it but getting clothes dry in a tent is a major task. Well done for sticking with it and bringing us another interesting and excellent vlog. We have holidayed in the caravan site near to the river and it was great. Cheers.
In a past life with my lost partner we visited with our caravan, and had many happy times of the places you go to … so brings back many happy memories .. he’s now gone , so you remind me of the places we went and so enjoyed , thankyou so much xx
Thank you so much for persevering in the rain to make this vlog which was full of interesting facts. I think you should complain about your coats as they are definitely not fit for purpose. Read the Consumer Rights Act and quote it if you do complain. What little troopers are Pablo and Dora. The more it rained I got more and more worried about you all. Anyhow, take care and bye for now. ❤
We've been to Rhuddlann a few times but never to the castle. Thanks for putting up with the rain to show us round. I'm worried though, just bought a new Berghaus waterproof so hope it works better than yours seemed to. Lol
Great video love a good castle.. watching the paper slowly get soggy was funny 😂 I read the article in the local Hartlepool paper..i was like "Oh theres Claire an Andrew i watch them on TH-cam" ❤ enjoy your travels wherever you go next ❤
Well done both for perceiving with your walk in rainy Wales. Yes it rains a lot here but without it our little country wouldn't be so green and lush. Love your vlogs and look forward to your next one. ❤
Wow you both took one for the team on this one, seeing that castle map disintegrate was just so funny, each shot less of the map. Interested to see how the new drone performs, looking forward to your verdict. Thanks for this one guys as the weather looked just dreadful. Keep em coming. 🍺🍺🦴🦴
What a great vlog shame about the rain the lunch looked delicious the loops in your goodies are for also putting your thumbs through and if you putting a coat on top stops the sleeves from rolling up hope you all managed to get dry
Liked and commented ... We always watch and enjoy your vlogs on the TV so made an effort to go on my Tablet to like and comment.. Ooh and thanks so much for the Hoodie I love it especially the secret pocket Claire 😊 ❤❤
We went there 3 yr ago on the bikes . Great place . I can just see my son sat on his Harley against the wall on the other side of the road . Fond memories . ☺️
You guys are fab! You never fail to make me laugh!! Love your vlogs please don't ever stop!! Big hugs to Pablo & Dora 🐾💕🐾 (hope you've finally dried out now!) ps I blame you for my new love of Madri! 😅
Loved it, used to spend my summer holidays from Barnsley in Rhuddlan and had many a banana and jam sandwich on the bank between castle and river Clywd, times were hard int 70's
Hi, great video just remember there’s no such thing as bad weather to bad clothing. Keep on going camping through the winter I think you’ll find it enjoyable.

Used to love Rhuddlan years ago when the kids were small, walking up (Twootill) and one time we took friend's kids... heard a load of shouts and there they were on the turrets of the castle... little monsters!! The weather was usually like this.
You should have come to Barry Island, in Soth Wales, we have sun here!!😂😂 That Sunday dinner looked gorgeous! What size do ladies hoodies go upto please? Have a great week. Love Dawn & Jay xx🥰🏴🏴 and Charlie 🐶🐾
The black and white bridge you crossed is where Olive and Arthurs motorcycle crashed and their luggage ended in the river in "Holiday on the Buses" Come to think of it you two would make a great Olive and Arthur if they ever remake On The Buses !
Brilliant again guy's, great to see yous are like us not fair weather explorers 👍😁... I love history as well Claire... Fionas not to up for it like Andrew... 😂... Be good guy's 🍻🍻🍻 oh, the maps brilliant 😂❤
Loved the vlog but I did really feel sorry for the 4 of you getting drenched poor Claire hardly smiled in this one, fingers crossed you get lovely sunshine in the next one, ❤
I'm not suprised there was nobody else round the castle in that rain, even the dogs looked fed up & the disintegrating map was so funny 🤣At least you had a nice lunch, well done 👍
Hi loved this! We were surprised not to see Marti Pellow and his group 😂 the castle looked brilliant! Thank you watching RHYL can’t be that bad next. Keep the vlogs going! Oh can you pop a link in about that drone?
I love the slowly disintegrating castle map. How proudly you clung to it. I've said it before you two are the funniest campervan channel on YT. 😅😅😅
We love that you enjoyed 🗺️ ❤️
Your both brilliant , love your channel , your the best of British , funny as well , you gel so well , thank you
I'm from Rhyl, (don't laugh), but I live in the US now. I love your show, and so does my American husband. When I was a kid, a gang of us used to regularly walk along the river from Rhyl to Rhuddlan and play in the castle all day. They used to let local kids in free. Love this story ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Rhyl beach was beautiful

As they told me when I was in the RAF, your skin is waterproof. Keep making us laugh, and happy travels.
Hi 👋 Thanks for watching
Will look at a RAB, originating from beautiful Sheffield of course!
@Stchristopherofatlantis yes Rab Carrington. Made sleeping bags for people climbing mountains in Argentina. No Madri there, I don't think 🤔
❤even though you were both soaked through to the skins this video brought sunshine into my life❤❤🎉❤❤🎉❤❤
Love this ☀️ ☀️☀️☀️☀️
Cheers for the plug guys :)

Used to love Rhuddlan years ago when the kids were small, walking up (Twootill) and one time we took friend's kids... heard a load of shouts and there they were on the turrets of the castle... little monsters!! The weather was usually like this.
Hi we had a great time 👍

The black and white bridge you crossed is where Olive and Arthurs motorcycle crashed and their luggage ended in the river in "Holiday on the Buses"
Come to think of it you two would make a great Olive and Arthur if they ever remake On The Buses !

I'm not suprised there was nobody else round the castle in that rain, even the dogs looked fed up & the disintegrating map was so funny 🤣At least you had a nice lunch, well done 👍
