Hi, Yes, so I definitely recommend going over the tips, pearls, and all the questions when going through the Leik book first. Just to grab the general concept of what the book entails. Then I would repeat every chapter again and write notes on what you didnt understand the first time around. Just keep repeating this until you feel like you completely understand all the content in the book. No, I did not do any live courses. I just studied primarily off of Leik and knew it very well. I did some extra questions here and there off of other sites as mentioned in the video, but I didnt find it to be helpful. But if you have extra time, I would search for other questions to go over! In my personal opinion, I thought that the actual test was somewhat different than the Leik questions. However, I did feel confident that I was able to answer the questions correctly or at least be able to rule out the incorrect ones. Hope this helps!
Hello, I do appreciate the quick tips that you gave in your video.. I failed the first time and I'm about to go for the second attempt.. what A bank do you recommend other than liek questions , ? I feel at this point I just need to do more questions. And learn from rationales, because I feel that I got the contents. I did five tests from exam edge, and I found them to be helpful.. have you tried the Sarah Michelle question Bank? I was thinking about purchasing that or the apea questions. Any recommendation is really appreciated it. Thank you
So sorry to hear that :( yeah, I believe doing as many questions as you can will be helpful. I haven’t personally tried Sarah Michelle questions but I have done the apea questions. My school required us to use this and I thought the apea questions were harder than the actual exam. I also used a lot of Quizlet questions that were free online. So I recommend going through liek questions at least a couple more times, quizlet, and apea if you need more in depth questions. Let me know if you have any other questions, I’m always happy to help. Hi! So I feel like leik was comparable to the actual exam. Maybe the exam is slightly more challenging but not by much. I found that going over the reasoning was the most helpful for me. For example, whether I got the leik questions right or wrong, I would still go over the rationales for both. But the exam is pretty straight forward for the most part !
@@Meej_NP I studied the Leik review book 4 times and did all the practice questions and got 90s in all areas. I scored well on the APEA practice exams as well and used sara michelle as a side tool but i failed the AANP exam this week. From my experience the questions on the AANP exam I took today was nothing like the reviews. The style of the questions and content of what was asked was not at all similar to what I studied in the book. I don't know If it was just bad luck with a bad batch of questions or if it's just me. I wasn't nervous at all during the exam but now I don't know what to do.

Did you happen to review all the content in leik including the questions you got right? Did you go over the pearls and the boxed content? If so, Hm…Overall, it seems like you have a good grasp regarding the general concepts of the book if you’re getting 90s and scoring well on the APEA exam so don’t be discouraged! You just need to find out what you’re not doing or maybe more practice questions might help. Maybe take a look at how you’re studying and retaining the information. I know that for the questions that weren’t straightforward, I was still able to get to the answer just by understanding the concept from leik. So maybe you can try to write down the general information/important must know information down for each chapter and then go back to fill in the detail. Perhaps repetition may be beneficial for you. Either way, you’re going to do great and pass the next time you take it so have faith! 👍🏻 you got this.

Do you think the leik question is the same as the aanp? I'm worried the leik question are too simple for what the exam will actually be.

Leon questions are about the same difficulty of the AANP, however the actual exam uses more words to distract you from the real question
