Hey everyone welcome back to another video! Today is a special edition of Matts RV Reviews and we are Reviewing a Grand Design Travel Trailer. The reason why is because were vamping up our 2nd channel @MattsRVReviewsTowables so what better way of promoting it then this.
This is the 2021 Grand Design Imagine 3100rd. This is an AMAZING Travel Trailer and I have never seen anything like it. It is a travel trailer on the outside but it has an amazing interior that replicated a 5th wheel.

The pegs in the drawer under the oven is for weird shaped pots and pans to help store them with them moving around.

1. Kitchen aisle space (maybe put theater seats where tv is and put the tv on a televator near the dining table. Maybe it would give a little more room in kitchen area? Just a suggestion)

MLJ Shell there is a tv space in the bedroom. Most travel trailers and fifth wheels don’t come with one, only a mounting space. And the table in the kitchen actually rotates to make more room in the kitchen.

the dinning table is actually convertible, it's why Matt feels walk way a bit narrow. It can be tilt to seat only 2 so you have more walk way, and store 2 foldable chairs under the bed.
Glad to see travel trailer back...I hope you can do Small, medium , large and the destination trailers.

Woo-Hoo! Matt finally reviewed a travel trailer. And this is my favorite floorplan from a favorite manufacturer. My only concern is, why GD still not using Azdel on their walls.
3 Loves: Floorplan, light color interior, Rear living with windows, large TV and fireplace.
3 Dislikes: No Azdel wall and stock tires are junk, Black appliance not stainless steel (and that black bezel on fridge is not working with the new euro style), Bedroom a bit too dark (wish they have a front window/windshield above the bed to watch the sky, or even better make the front like NuCamp AVIA).
Many people like to sleep in their bedroom and the more light that filters in, the harder it is to sleep. I'm good with a darker bedroom.😁

Matt you need to put into your new contract that all RV’s be plugged in for the air conditioner. You guys looked miserably hot
The drawer under the oven is for pots and pans and those dowles are to stop them from moving!!

1. Not a lot of outside storage
2. Tight/odd kitchen design
3. I'd like a bigger handle for the stairs.
Likes:
1. Dislikes 1 and 2 above are negated by the living room. Love it!
2. Cubbys with power by the head of the bed. Glasses/CPAP, etc.
3. Big shower. Big living room, etc. Love the space.
Not interested in trailer- I want a 5th wheel- but I support you because of your great reviews- and this Grand Design trailer is impressive

Matt, we personally don't like frameless windows and LOVE the fact that Grand Design is listening to those of us who feel that way. Definitely a 👍👍👍 !!! Great review, guys!
No kitchen counter space, only one AC, would be happy with one couch and more room in the kitchen . Other wise it's a 👍 trailer! So enjoy your videos , you guys bring a smile to our faces ‼️

I'm really glad you're bringing back the towables channel. This is really a great travel trailer. The only complaints I have about this unit are that I wish it had a bigger fridge, a little bigger oven and microwave, love the living area and counter top space, the bathroom, the big awning, the arctic package and the layout of the trailer. Those pegs in the drawer under the oven are there to arrange so that your pots and pans don't get beat up while traveling. BTW, Grand Design had these cabinets before being bought out by Winnebago I think. Love the review!!! Still my favorite channel for RVs.
Hooray! A towable review, finally! We've had no less than 5 towables in 20 years, and only one Class C, and I'm still a big fan of the towables. Oh, and check your spelling on the video, it's towable, NOT towbable. Unless you're making a joke about the Tower of Babel of course. This is really a small "park" model. My three favorite things (I have like 6 total but these are my top 3): under 8,000 lbs (dry of course). Multiple slide outs (that's hard to keep it under 8,000 lbs), giant livingroom, that's as big as a "park" model. Least favorite things are: small kitchen, but one can make dinner on the dinette. I'd replace the gas oven, with a larger convention microwave. Of all the campers I've had, we've only ever used the gas oven maybe 5 times in 20 years. I'd like a a washer/dryer, but I only see one place to put it in the kitchen. I know that's a tall order, if one has to keep the weight down. If there's an instant-on hotwater heater, I'd go for that, and it really needs a second roof air (again, all decisions that need to be made to keep the weight down). I'm looking forward to seeing a whole lot more towable reviews!
#1). I think it would be nice to add stool chairs and take away the table and chairs for more walking way space.
2). It would be nice if the bedroom was as large as the living room without walls closed up to the bathroom. Maybe if it had a second pullout it would look Oasis.
3). 2 bathrooms would be great for those guests. Enjoyed the youtube video :)

1. Innovative interior layout.
2. GREAT BATHROOM.
3. Plenty of storage and counter space in the kitchen.
3 things I dislike:
1. Only 1 ac unit
2. I agree on the frameless windows. They need to have them on this unit.
3. I know this is being really picky, but they could have had a slide in the bedroom on the opposite side from the door. I would have allowed a little more walking space on the far side of the bed.

OK, This one just became my number 1. The living space is awesome. Three things I do not like are 1. The AC. Exactly what you said. This size needs a third, #2 - The Fridge could be bigger. #3 - Where the dinette is I would love to have an option for a bar table or desk where chairs are just on one side. That would open it up a little more. Three things I love - 1. The living area. Having seats for that many are great. 2. The shower is awesome big. 3. The kitchen counter space is unmatched.
This travel trailer is fantastic. Great layout! We always get excited to see a new video from you all! Keep up the good work!
Likes are
1. It seems that if you move the chairs at the dining room table it could be used as another prep space in the kitchen.
2. The cubbies on either side of the bed give room for books and phones.
3. The storage space in the kitchen.
Dislikes are
1. There is not much privacy for the non paying ride alongs if both couches are used.
2. A larger convection microwave would be preferable over the small oven.
3. Second a/c. I agree with you on that one for sure.

This TT has great overall open space, with the sofas and recliners. It makes a nice warm, welcoming living room with fireplace and big TV. Great window sizes.
I would put the table on hinges with to option to put down and fastened to wall. This will increase walk space behind recliners to the kitchen.
The kitchen and bathrooms are perfect. Pantry!!!! Cabinets are good color with good size drawers.
I didn’t hear if it was set up for solar? This a must. They should have put the two air conditioners in with this price point.

Love: layout, storage throughout, bathroom
Dislike: while wired for 2 ac's it should have the second standard, would like backup lights, would like 12 volt fridge.
(I have a 2018 Grand Design Imagine 2400bh, so I love the Imagine units)
The posts in the drawer under the stove are genius! They are to keep the pots/pans from sliding around! Love this unit!!! Awesome size. I love that if a couple was traveling in this, they could put the table against the window/store the extra 2 chairs and have more floor space available. Love this! Thanks for showing us! (Jane, SC)

the peg in draw is a high end pot seperater for your draw helps hold the pots/lids. U move the pegs & use as many as u need to match the pots.

First time commenting, I am sorry, but I watch mostly on my TV and I can't make comments. I'm so excited to have you back into towables. I love RVs of all types, but towables are special (affordable LOL). Three things I LOVE about this RV - #1 Price, that is reasonable considering the space. #2 Space, Space and More Space. I loved the cubbies in the bathroom and the bedroom. #3 - The dining area. I am so very tired of U shaped dinettes. Three Things I dislike: #1 - The kitchen layout is awkward for cooking. I guess if you use the table you can get the perfect triangle, but without it, it's back and forth... Give and take for all that living space. #2 - The Crazy Options on the recliners. I know you like the ability to hold a beer, but I don't drink beer, I drink coffee in a cup and that doesn't fit, so the cup holders are wasted space and the massage options always seem overrated (to me, just flash, not really a bonus). #3 - Going back to the kitchen layout, there is no counter-space for my espresso machine. I know, I know, we're camping, but I still need my fix and it's much tastier and cheaper than buying from a shop. Plus there isn't always a shop nearby, it's camping :) Keep these videos coming. I am an RV addict and am so happy to have found your channel(s).

Dislikes: nothing to tow it!
A friend pointed out a motorhome, no matter the size, requires you to strike camp to buy supplies unless you tow a vehicle. With a small travel trailer, you have a place to sleep and you can go sightseeing once you unhook. That way there's only one engine to service. I'd like to see reviews of Lance, Jayco, Winnebago, and other smaller trailers.

Likes:
1. The bathroom. Everything about it is well planned, functional and beautiful.
2. The rear living space is huge! (Does the TV swivel?)
3. Counter and storage space in the kitchen rocks!!
Dislikes:
1. Kitchen walkway and entryway are too crowded. I'd give up a foot or so of rear living space to make it better. And the extra shelf in the kitchen crowds the entryway and hallway when it's up...not cool.
2. The pantry door doesn't need a window and, if the shelves aren't adjustable, they should be.
3. TV placement in bedroom sucks

I can’t wait to see you do a video on each of those! Our little home was The Joy Love Bus, and now that we live in 38’ and run two businesses, we live in “Headquarters”! 😂😂 Thank you for being our favorite show! We love you two! 💗💗
That is a huge trailer under 8000 pounds, love all the storage. The drawer under the range with pegs is to keep pots and pans from banging around.

My husband and I have been planning on buying a travel trailer for quite a long time, we are so glad we found your videos! 👎🏻 I wish they didn’t put that wall behind the Thomas Paine seats, I know it’s there for the power, but I would like the flexibility of moving around the couches and the table. It would be nice if there was a desk or the dinette in one of those slide outs. I feel like Grand Design always shafts the outside, they do great living space inside, but we love travel trailers for camping. 👍🏻 LOVE the bathroom and the storage in the bedroom. Love the storage in the living room and that there’s no bad viewing seats! Bathroom is fantastic!!!! 😅 I can’t believe you guys went in there at 94 degrees! Lol! I would die. 😅😂

I love this travel trailer. It’s a nice size. Big! My sisters husband had one and we went camping in it and it was nice. His was not big but it was good. But this is better and bigger and it does look like a fifth wheel. Everything is really nice. The cabinets I love the colors together. I love the dinette. Thank you Grande Design and Matt and Andrea! Oh I bought 4 key chain s. And they have the both of you on them. Can’t wait to get them. Thank you so much! I see you are in Michigan. Your are near where I’m from which is Redford Michigan. This is awesome. Torn between 5th wheel and travel trailer. Love the big living room in a 5th wheel. Really just want a travel trailer. This is the exact thing I have been looking for. Now to get one ordered.

Thanks for doing more travel trailers. A big must.... We would like to have twin beds instead of 1 bed and waster pulls handles to be placed higher like inside of storage unit for those with back problems. Many good pluses with this unit....suggestions.....shower seat in shower, larger microwave and oven...both too small. Need 2nd A/C install & standard. TV in Bedroom should be included and place in better spot. Bedroom decoration seam blaaaaaa. Love the From room and recliners, kitchen and Pantry very nice.

Grand Design...love that they DO NOT use the frameless windows. In my Reflection TT, when we open those big windows and get a breeze blowing through...nothing better. My friends rv with the frameless windows, no breeze to be had. Glad you're starting up the Towable channel again. Good Luck!

When you were pointing out the coax, you said if you wanted to have an outside grill. But when I saw the gas line you didn't point it out for and outside grill. But I love it over all.
Okay, I'm feeling feisty tonight so I'll say this is one kickass trailer because it's all on one level vs a fifth wheel; great bathroom; super great living area....BUT the kids or guests have to sleep in the living room so it eliminates this trailer as a full-time option with lots of set up at bedtime and clean up in the morning; but then, not everyone wants that; also, microwave seem kinda small; no toppers on slides. I live near General RV in Huntley, IL....how can I find out if you'll be coming there?
Glad you are doing travel trailers again. We are looking for an RV and just decided to check out the trailers too. Loved the bathroom size in this one.

Matt... the kitchen table also can rotate to where it is lengthwise against the wall for buffet style serving if you have visitors to fill all the couch seats 🤩

This RV would be perfect if it had an east - west bedroom slide with a KING bed. There is so much more storage in E - W bedrooms. Come on Grand Design & other RV manufacturers... please make more E - W bedrooms!!! (We automatically rule N - S bedroom floor plans OUT!) We LOVE the "Den" floor plan also. Den plus E - W king would be the bomb diggity BEST FLOORPLAN EVER! An auto leveler is needed too! Do those 3 things and this would be THE BEST RV in its class on the market!!! Let's go Grand Design!

This is probably my favorite Grand Design trailer!
Likes: huge awning, Euro style cabinetry (I also like how the left cabinet door, under the sink, is a full door even though only half of the space is usable. It's aesthetically pleasing), shower
Dislikes: only 1 AC, no bedroom slide, free standing dinette
The kitchen table has a knob underneath it, and when you pull down on it, it allows the table to swivel sideways, giving you a table for 2 and widening the walkway considerably. Also, 2 of the chairs are collapsible and can be stored under the bed. The remaining chairs have storage under the seat cushion. This is my favorite Grand Design trailer by far, I just wish it was solar.

Dislike the super heavy tongue weight.
Dislike no levelers on it. Just stab jacks.

Really nice! The pegs in the drawer under the oven are movable so you can organize the drawer the way you want and they help keep things in place.

Dislikes: Tiny microwave, wish there was a little more storage in the bathroom, I don’t love the TV location in the bedroom, but see there may not be anywhere else to put it.
I have been viewing your videos for a while. That being said, we really need to see more towables. With this Grand Design, my dislikes are the kitchen counter extension at the doorway, the crowded area around the dining table as it is right in the main traffic area to the living space, and the two way refrigerator (12 volt would be better). My likes are the bathroom, bedroom storage, and kitchen storage. I also agree that it should come standard with two a/c’s.
Nothing to complain about where Grand Design is confirmed cernd! They always have the biggest and best bathrooms and showers not to mention their use of pocket doors in the hallway! Congratulations Aundrea on your being able to put the folding countertop back down! You should try to include what type of suspension and frame that the unit sits on, especially if there's a drop frame! Love to see you back on your Matt's RV review towables! 👍😎

LIKES: 1) very spacious in the main sitting area...would have liked to see it with the bump-outs in 2) Matt's backup beer LOL 3) ( Spacers to keep the pots from rattling around in the drawer below the stove) Love the kitchen with two work areas 4) (because Matt's beer was extra) The bathroom is great. DISLIKES: 1) step-down onto the back bumper ...dangerous 2) not sure I am keen on 3 seating areas (could maybe have put in more storage or different kitchen setup ..would have liked the pantry pullouts and #3) definitely the air conditioning. Made me hot just watching you. Stay safe you two

Love the new cabinetry. Better quality and lighter. Also like the shades. Wish they had done these changes in 2020 (which is what we have). Bedroom cubbies are great. Like the dining table. Don't like the oven. Its so narrow you can't really bake in any pan deeper than 3 inches. They should eliminate the oven and add a nice large combo microwave/convection. More than 1 A/C is needed for this size of trailer.
Matt, totally agree with your dislikes, however I would of liked to see the camper plugged in and running to prove to everyone and the manufacturer that a single ac unit isn't enough for a camper that size!! Also the windows should be "automotive" type you mentioned. And the bumper really does need to come out further! Adding accessories will be difficult!
Some dislikes of mine were the fact that the spare tire is hideous! Needs at least a cover!! Second, most campers in that price range come with power stabilizers, to me this doesn't seem like a camper that someone is going to start out with, its a camper someone is going to upgrade to! Power stabilizers is a nice upgrade! 😉 Third I wish you guys would of shown the fold out beds opened up, you get to see alot about the quality of the camper be seeing those! Think about it, how do you cram a bed in a couch and make it comfortable? Fourth, would of liked to seen an option for chairs that stack, like that the table folds down though, but that walkway around the table is very narrow!

Great living room!!! Agree kitchen a bit tight, great storage outside, cool pantry. Thats for pan lids under oven. Great shower, little sink, but will do. PPP!! Bedroom ok. Good storage. No washer and dryer????? Agree two ACs needed! Would prefer theatre chairs closer to TV.

I couldn’t wait for this video to end so I could write how much I hate towables. I was going to rant about the added cost of buying something to tow this thing, packing it up and on and on...then you went inside. Oh My GAWD!!! THIS THING IS AMAZING!!! I’ll buy a truck if it means owning this beauty!!! My only dislike is lack of funds. Be well you guys.

I thought for sure this was a 5th wheel. Awesome travel trailer. The bathroom is beautiful, bedroom seems a bit cramped, as the dinning area, but I love all the space in the living room area.

You did not point out one awesome feature that I like and I point out to my customers is the kitchen table. If only two people go camping then you can fold up two of the chairs and store them under you bed or pass through storage .
Then, turn the knob under your table and rotate the table.
It gives you more space in the kitchen. Very, very nice!
Also, this is the 1st time I have seen your video and I love it!

According to a video on the GDRV channel, the dining table can rotate 90 degrees and lock into place in either orientation. Rotate the two outer chairs or fold 'em up and stuff 'em under the bed and there should be more room to move around in the kitchen.
Put some solar on that thing and swap out that fridge for a 12v compressor fridge, and this thing would be awesome. I also agree, 2 a/c units should come standard.
