When Mai said she chooses Zuko over her, that triggered all the trauma she has been suppressing. Zuko took her mother’s affections and now her friends. That’s why she wants to kill him so badly.
The two guys having a random conversation in the bomb bay before Sokka opened the doors to drop them all were voiced by the creators.
Never knew that. So cool
No Mai and Ty Lee's betrayal is what started her descent into madness. Literally for the first time in her life the fear she used to control them failed and she became paranoid that everyone else would start turning on her, then Ozai basically sidelining her and going to conquer the earth kingdom alone was another big blow.
Yells "MOMO" as Appa flies in with Zuko and Katara had me weak🤣
One thing I think is very interesting is Azula's nonchalant reaction to the hallucination of her mother. That makes me think this isn't the first time this has happened to her and she's been seeing her off and on again, and for how long is anyones guess...
"It took literally nothing for that to happen."
Wrong, it was Azula's overreliance on fear, paired with Zuko and Mai's love that lead to the betrayal, setting her on her downward spiral into insanity.
Coupled with her finally getting what she wanted, the power and authority of the Fire Lord. So she didn't want to lose it, which caused her worst trait, distrust, to spiral out of control.
My favorite episode of the entire series. Azula's descent into madness, the animation, the fight choreography, the colors, the MUSIC...just a big steaming, flaming, spicy pile of excellence.
It's easy to worry that they might have rushed this ending, but I'll tell you what, this was one of the greatest finales of any show ever, especially for an animated series. The writers and animators of Avatar went all-in, 500%, hardcore perfect with this finale. Everything was spot on, and even the voice acting was glorious. Chef's kiss.
I don't know how accurate this information is, but I heard that the creators of the show even dedicated some of their own money to this finale to give it an even bigger budget. The dedication shown on all sides for this finale is unreal, they went so hard on this and I'm so glad they did.
@@zavodila9279The creators wanted to bring in a live orchestra for the finale but didn't originally have the budget for it. They told the studio they would put in their own money for it which encouraged the studio to increase the original budget.
When you realized that her mother talking to Azula is just Azula's subconscious talking to herself...
She wanted to hear her mother say that she loved her, but then she only knew fear. She began having second thoughts, but she fought it...

Definitely not fair play to Azula. She challenged him to an Agni Kai and broke the rules of the Agni Kai by attacking someone outside of the duel. She has no honor at all.
What I love most about Sokkas Strike Team: He started of being a massive sexist... "Women can't fight !" and here he is, having blind faith in the capabilities of the 2 Women he brought with him

The hate against the Azula actress is stupid. Azula is only 14 but looks older in the cartoon to make her look more sinister. The new actress actually looks the proper age is all. Like you said, withhold judgement until we see her in the show.
I agree the actress looks nothing like azula
People who hate Azula are not so smart actually, its easy to figure it out why she is like that and its not pure evilness.

imagine if there was a full moon too, he would be at his most powerfull ( i don't remember if anything boost earthbending or airbending so i didn'T take it into account)
@@hugothibodeau6137 sure although he never seemed to make that much use of it compared to Katara and it doesn't look like there's too much water around anyway. I think earthbending just has strong sub-bendings. and airbenders got scammed 🤣
@@kaijingarou6526 air is invisible and there is little to no way to counter it. i just wish it had at least 1 subbending, not something strong maybe just something like the Fanmade Soundbending could have been nice

It sure would've been awesome if Katara defeated Azula with blood bending, I thnik that would've been a direct shot to Azula's ego, but Katara swear to never use it again and also needed a full moon for that u-u
Azula's breakdown is so sad to see. The fact that she imagines her mother saying "I love you" and can't handle that is heartbreaking.
And the Last Agni Kai is beautiful and tragic, the muffled sounds and music illustrate how this is not some epic showdown between good and evil, it's a brother and sister, both victims of their father, fighting to the death. I love how it shows the mental states of the characters. Azula is erratic and all over the place while Zuko remains calm and stands his ground, truly showing how far he's come.
Katara needs a full moon in order to bloodbend, because the fuller the moon the more powerful waterbending is. Bloodbending is such an advanced technique that it requires the bender to be at the height of their power. She can't bloodbend Azula during this fight.
Really taking the wind out of your own sails breaking the finale into individual parts. It’s so anti climactic watching this and then waiting to see the final part
Azula has a very menacing demeanor and the actress didn't give me that vibe for a second, but I agree they're just images and maybe they picked her because her acting does sell it, so I'll save my definitive opinion for when I see her in action.

@@kaijingarou6526 true. i will admit we may had excesively high expectation but firebending and the earthbending scene (we all know of what i talk) are the 2 worse. they are better to do firebending justice (fun fact a 18+ comic i read also made fun of the live action)

Ive seen a lot of the hate towards the Azula actress kind of wane away after seeing the trailer and the posters where we see her in constume and she actually looks really good

Idk about that... she was a little psycho, born with a silver spoon in every place possible, was a firebending prodigy, and still tried nothing but fear tactics and "might makes right" on everyone around her. Mai, Ty Lee, Zuko... she even rubbed it in to Zuko's face that his father was going to have to eliminate his own kid, him.
There's not much sad about it. She speant her whole life making her bed. I'd underdtand if her mom hated and punished her, but she wasn't terrorized.
Zuko had it worse just off the basis he could actually feel things.
Azula is just the kid that cracks when they get their first B in school. Zuko would be the kid who can't even talk about his scar without ending up with another one.

@@ProjectSenpai ignore there comment they are just being weird. ive seen a few reactions to the final few eps of this show so i think i can guess what they mean. basically most people who react to the zuko vs azula fight like to gush about the blue and red contrast of the fire blasts during the fight so i assume they wanted to see you go on about how pretty the lights are like how most do.
@-scratchy- yes the animation is pretty they did a great job with it but you should appreciate the fact that they are giving different reactions than other people. i liked the talk about what must be going on in there minds and the topic was during the whole fight so there wasn't really time to mention the pretty fire without just randomly interrupting the conversation and just because it wasn't mentioned it dont mean that they never noticed it. instead of commenting how they didn't appreciate something you should have just mentioned how good it was yourself then they could have a chance to comment how much they liked it and agree with you

Azula's actor being short isn't the problem. She's just not intimidating at all. Azula was a real femme fatale, the live action actor is too doughy-faced and doesn't look like someone who spends every day training their body to perfection.
maybe her acting will carry her. but I get u. I thought cartoon Azula was hot. not the live action show. but im not guna watch it cuz of a hot azula. ima watch it cuz its the Avatar.
