I had some very happy times with this set up. Performing classical music with Clavinova pianos, Roland SC88pro sound modules and the trusty Atari made everything so easy. The systems that followed were very clever, but by the time you had taken to set up, play the piece, edited where necessary, then one found the inspiration had gone. I was one of first people in the UK to buy a legal dongled version of this software along with an Atari 1040STFM. And I haven't looked back since in terms of making music in my home studio. Nowadays of course I use DAWs like Nuendo, Ableton, Logic Pro, but I would go back to Notator in a heartbeat if I could. I recorded 3 albums of original songs with it hooked up to and synced to a Fostex R8 reel to reel multitrack for non-MIDI tracks. Those were the days. Halcyon times!!
Wow! What a flashback! I used to stare at that image on the screen for hours, weeks, months. I'd run a SMPTE time code track, lock everything up to tape and do live mixes with a huge midi set-up. Such a powerful and easy program to use. Sometimes I miss that set-up!

That takes me back. Hook it up to an Akai S950 with a disc of rave samples and you could do tracker music!
I know that you can download this 3.21 for free but how do you do that on a dd double sided formatted diskette?

I brought my first Macintosh just for Notator.
Is it a real version of Notator or a rom you put on a floppy disc ?
Blorglbl i use a original version with the hardware dongle, loaded from a floppy disk.
