If there was one game that I could erase my memory of and experience it again, this would be it. Such a good experience and OST. The Nest and Condor Clash have to be my favorites.
Same. Nothing could've ever prepared me for this game. However, if given the choice, I would experience it for the first time on PS5 in 60 FPS!!!!!! I just played it that way the other night and what a fucking enhanced masterpiece it is!!! Even despite the 3 points that are impassable without the game update (To play at 60 fps on PS5, you NEED the game disc so you can install Version 1.00 of the game. The PS5 will auto download Version 1.03, but you can cancel the update before it installs and play version 1.00. If you play the game on version 1.00, on PS5 it is LOCKED 60 fps 99.9% of the entire game. The problem is there's 3 points that the game freezes or crashes in this state, and you need to install the game update to get past those points. Luckily that takes a minute, and then you can delete the game and reinstall only the disc to play the rest of the game in silky smooth 60 fps. If you're interested, I can tell you what 3 points it happens but in my playthrough, it was only 3 spots I couldn't get past without installing the update)
I've never felt so attached with a game til I played The Last Guardian. It's not only a good moment where you had some fun, but an unforgettable experience that will remain with you forever. The bond you develop with Trico, OST and enviroment are a perfect mix that hit you way to hard. Maybe I'm overreacting but The Last Guardian it's more than a game or a good memory... I don't even now how to describe it, but I can assure to you all that is something good.
Probably one of the best games in the world that I have played, It definetly deserved more than how small the commuinity is now, The ost is amazing, the characters were amazing, the story was amazing, the graphics were amazing, and the puzzles were fun to figure out. Definetly can't wait for more from the games companies
[Caution: Spoilers.] Having loved Ico and Last Guardian, I was really ready to love this. Purchased a PS4 just to be able to play it. But I felt quite let down at the end. It was kind of a bummer killing off all the colossi, but the story kinda justified it a bit. But here, you create a bond with a creature, only to be torn away from the creature, permanently, at the end. I did not consider that to be 'poignant,' I considered it to be dispiriting and annoying. Utterly ruins the replayability. I've replayed Ico and Shadow tons of times. But I never wanted to replay this. (Well, maybe a bit for the graphics and some of the story, but I'd want to stop before trying to defeat the master of the valley so as not to be forced to experience the ending!) If the team does another story, I hope they learn the concept of a happy ending, and give it to us!
@@mrnnhnz [Spoilers for all 3 ico games] I completely understand you lol, The story was kinda a bummer near the end but I kinda think "happy endings where everybody is safe" are repetitive and overused these days. Team Ico's games have always been this way, Ico was rescued but Yorda was left as a shadow, and was trapped forever, Wander died and got rebirthed and now resides in the temple, And The last guardian's trico was sadly forced to leave the boy to live with his true family and towns people. But yeah I do love the happy endings but I think Ico's history of not-so perfect endings are definetly a wonderful choice of game design and its definitely understandable to not like the choice they went with for there endings. Completely respect your opinion man
i wasn't long for me to finish it. I finished it yesterday but it had one of the best atmospheres ever. Its such a simple yet powerful story. You feel so forgotten in this world but yet not alone.

このゲームは操作のしにくさや画面切り替えの不手際など細かい難点は沢山存在する。だが物語の最後のシーンを経験すると難点はすべて吹き飛んで消えてしまった。私は三回プレイして三回とも号泣した。 There are many minor difficulties in this game, such as the difficulty of the controls and the clumsy screen switching. However, once I ex.perienced the final scene of the story, all the difficulties were blown away and disappeared. I played it three times and cried three times
I want to complete this game again, just to spend some time in the world and take in the ambience. The game isn't perfect but nothing compares to what this game achieved.
I'm happy I'm not the only person who was immediately thinking that. I feel it pretty much sounds more like Thomas Newman like actual Thomas Newman-composed music. I love it.
@@PauLtus_B I love it! There's always just something so reflective and ethereal in his work, I feel like other composers have their own traits and characteristics in encapsulating a scene or emotion, but I feel like Thomas Newman's is always so good at just getting right to the core.

not got the game as play on PC, wish this was on PC, but watched lots of videos. "Forest" is a beautiful piece of music that makes me tearful, Trico reminds me of my cat xxxx
It's amazing how well the Sentinel's music conveys first suspense (in Sentinel I) and then udder pandemonium (in Sentinel II.) It accurately sums up the feelings of the player whenever they encounter those pesky things, IMO. P.S. I really, REALLY love this soundtrack, and this game in general.

Great catch! Never realized how similar some of the motifs in Takeshi Furukawa’s score are to Thomas Newman’s which is by no means a bad thing. Easily one of the highlights of The Last Guardian as it really makes those intense moments all the more harrowing.
I made the mistake of dismissing this as a bit derivative, as others pointed out, it has strong Thomas Newman + Shawshank vibes... but no! This OST has its own thematic language and is full of ethereal moments. I'm now totally hooked and haven't been able to stop replaying it every few days for weeks on end. Every time, some new detail of the orchestration or a small moment stands out, the clarinet solos or the delicate piano touches or the choir or percussion or strings effects, etc. Furukawa-san has gifted us a masterpiece. (And the game isn't too bad either : )
I love the transition between sentinel and victorious. My favorite soundtracks in the game especially because of how victorious jumps from sentinel. The last guardian and shadow of the colossus ost are really good at that type of synergy with the gameplay.
could you do a Touhou OST? it has 15 core games and many spin offs, but i would like to see a compilation from you :D Thanks, for doing this work Jepedillo, you are awesome.
I went to the 2018 GDC conference best OST award and I sat about 5 people away from Takeshi Furukawa the composer of The Last Guardian. The was between him and Austin Wintory for Abzu. Personally, I really wanted Takeshi to win as I felt he really deserved it. There's this sense of fantastic inspiration in his incidental music and it's truly inspiring to listen to. I feel like Austin's music is good but I just don't feel the same way when I play stuff with music written by him and IMO media music awards should be based around inspiration and the feelings that come with it. I was sad to see Takeshi didn't win, and when they didn't call his name, he seemed pretty upset, understandably. At the same time, this same conference had Super Mario Odyssey up against The Breath of the Wild for best OST, and the vote for that was much closer than I imagined where Odyssey almost won. So I'm not sure how credible these jurors are at voting for best soundtrack since between the two aforementioned, there's a clear clear clear winner. Achhmmm (Zelda) But I digress...
