Yeah, I have a question? How did the police film you? with a body camera? I find it very hard to believe any police are going to hold a camera, cell phone or whatever method while they are trying to extort money from you? Seriously.
I see you have some favorite taco stands near where you live. Have you found any really good tacos outside if the downtown area in Vallarta? (I’ll suggest you try tacos de birria at Tacos Birria Chino, located at the Mercado in Palmar de Aramara... Yum!). Keep on making your videos and don’t worry about what some losers say. Haters gonna hate. We love you guys, you always inspire us. And nearly 200,000 subscribers proves that we are not the only ones that feel this way about your videos. Gracias Amigos!
This was fun. Hillary you seem so happy lately. You're just beaming. I love seeing your relaxed, funny side. The behind the scenes video showed a bit of you I hadn't seen before. I really enjoyed it. Keep on smiling, it looks beautiful on you.
Please never move from PV !! I’m hoping to retire there and I’m looking forward to having breakfast and coffee with you both. Thank you for sharing your days with us ❤️.
Hey Kennons! I'm a huge fan. I moved to PV by myself in November in large part to your videos. It helped me feel more comfortable with the idea and definitely helped when I got here. I've seen you both on the street a couple times but didn't want to go all fan girl on you. lol I love watching your adventures and wish I had more confidence to explore more. Thanks for all you share!
I'm also a firm believer that no matter what language you're trying to learn, seaseme st shows are a good start. In México is Plaza Sésamo. Radio talk shows are also a great source as the DJs are required to speak clearly and the topics keep you in the loop with current events and lingo.
I also like to listen to the news for the same reasons you mentioned regarding radio talk shows. They speak very clearly, and, usually, not too fast, although fast enough that I’ve sped up my comprehension skills. I’m fortunate that I live in Southern California only about 25 miles from the border, and we get lots of stations from Tijuana here, and I often listen to Mexican news stations when I’m driving around town. It has helped my Spanish a lot.
OH MY GOD!! I have not been watching you guys for a little while. I moved to Virginia, and will be going back to Texas soon! My husband and I have been trying to settle here but it hasn't worked, we miss home soo much. I also share that same experience with you guera! I will always ALWAYS remember the day I went to the huasteca with my family! That was seriously the best day ever! The whole experience, I remember being so happy! I cannot even explain it. I was also overwhelmed with happiness. Im soo glad you feel the same way. I want to take my husband to the huasteca soon, and visit my family in S.L.P. Wishing you guys the best always
Yes!! That’s soo right! Learning a language is literally a life long process. I’ve been living in the US for 10yrs now and I feel pretty confident about speaking english, but I still have a looooooooot to learn! :) Any ways!! Saludos!!
Been in Puerto Vallarta and I need some days to explore. I just came from Mexico went to Chapala Jalisco. And me and my husband love. As soon as we arrived to the States we were already planning our next trip my. Mexico is my land and my people. Grew up in the U.S and now that Im in my 40s I fell in love with my land and people. Thanks for the videos this really give me enthusiasm to explore Mexico.
One of the reasons I love you guys is because I left Mexico wen I was 17 to come to USA and am. American citizen now..I came for adventure, and you are in Mexico for the same reason.😍
Here is a tip: I was staying in a quaint little hotel in Sayulita and in the bathroom there was a sign to huck your T.P. into the garbage. But, the bathroom also came with a shower.....save the paper and be even more hygienic.
Keep it going Hilary and Greg, Puerto Vallarta is and has always been my favorite vacation paradise, I have been going there since Liz Taylor and Richard Burton had their vacation home there. Yep! I'm old but I still love this place. I big hello from Salt Lake City, UT
The only bad story I have about travel happened in Mexico. I was harassed by the police while walking to the market. I was walking on the sidewalk in Merida when a truck filled with officers stopped me. one of the officers took my ID while the others surrounded me holding their assault rifles. It was very intimidating. They asked me so many questions as to why I was there. They really made me feel like I didn't belong in Mexico. This was a one-time occurrence, so I am not trying to say anything bad about Mexico. I just wanted to share my story. Keep up the great content, Guys!
Now you can understand how many U.S. citizens feel when their own police intimidates and harrasses them... perhaps even kills them! That is a very serious problem USA and Mexico share! Sorry you experienced it! In Mexico AMLO created the Guardia Nacional because the police was already so corrupt! Previous governments were criminals and they corrupted everything.
While out early walking this morning saw Greg running. Came home and watched another of your vids. For learning Spanish I like Qroo Paul’s Spanish lessons. (Another Xpat)
I went to Mexico over spring break and it was cool seeing things that I saw in your videos from Puerto Vallarta , I have family in Ixtapa so I ended up staying and just driving like 30 minutes to Puerto Vallarta it was beautiful
I agree, the cheapest beach towns to live long term are Huatulco, Puerto Escondido, but I would add San Carlos, in the state of Sonora. Beatiful beaches, beautiful town and very cheap. Saludos!
I live in Haultulco. I love it..lots of retired expats. Canadians and from the U.S...younger folks I'm sure would really need to check out Puerta Escondido.
I just saw this video, I'm from San Luis Potosi, living now in Countryside, Illinois. I know you are in love with La Huasteca, but something happens there every year, from December to May it goes dry. Imagine the magnificent waterfall Cascada de Tamul going dry, as well as many other rivers and waterfalls. And is happening now, the Tamul waterfall is dry and there is no rain in the forecast. Sad.
GREG II LOVE YOUR VIDEOS I LIKE WHEN U R IN VALLARTA. IT´S AMAZING!!! I guess it´s difficult for u the first time when thye gringos travel to Mexico but once they do.... they liked it.
Speaking of your new company, I order Contodo coffee back in the beginning to middle of March. How long does it take to get to me in Mississippi? Also, all where great questions & with my move to Mexico in November, I'll keep those in mind.
LOL! The very first time I went to Mexico I thought they covered the plates with plastic at taco stands to keep dust off of them until the were ready to be used. As I took an unused plate and began removing the plastic everyone standing around the cart quickly (and loudly) corrected me. 🤣
Great information, you need to do one like this every couple of years with updated questions and answers so people will have the latest important information about moving or living in Mexico. Fantastico
We have heard comments about the air and water quality in PV could you comment on this? I did hear you say that the water quality isn't great after a rain because of the river run offs.
Once I visited the Oaxaca Coast, I knew that I would only go back to PV for short trips (it is much easier to get to from Canada than PE). I am a big swimmer; the water is much clearer and warmer in PE. PV is fun for food, urban excitement and warm weather - but the water is too murky for me (and don't get me started about Yelapa - where we spent over 45 days on 3 visits before I figured out that the problem is too many visitors, inadequate sewage infrastructure - if any - and too much questionable debris washing into the bay from the river.
Interesting on the TP question. We don’t flush it at all anywhere while in PV, whether out or in our home. That being said, yes...a covered trash can and diligence to take out the trash are key. I would far rather flush. I guess I just don’t trust the pipes and the TP is generally thicker (might think differently if it was Scott 1000) and given that our home is up in the hills, it isn’t the easiest place to get a plumber so we don’t chance it.
I'm moving from Ajijic to PV in May. Looking forward to possibly running into the two of you and letting you buy me a cup of your coffee ☕ 😉 Great videos, I've been a fan for a long time. Was living in Puebla when I first subscribed to your channel. Take care and stay safe.
Hi guys - always enjoy your vids - quick question - would you consider selling a single bag of beans? I have a Miele espresso machine & the grinder is kinda finicky if the beans are too oily :-(
Queretaro is a big city. While it has a nice historic center it can be busy with traffic and may not be the place for you if you are looking for a small-town feel. It is common in Mexico to put used toilet paper in the trash because the plumbing systems are notoriously bad in most places with inadequate-sized pipes and homes frequently use septic tanks.
He'll, I live in Canada and I do that!! All my plumbing is new. But I protect my healthy septic system. Never ever put grease into your septic system. Then I burn the tp.
I have driven all over most of Mexico and the Federal Police are outstanding - maybe a bit militant, but they are professionals. Many say the Mexican Federal Police are the best in Central and South America comparisons. It's the local police that can be looking for bribes, because they are not paid very well. Nevertheless, I traveled extensively through Mexico and NEVER got stopped over more than a month, but once I returned to Arizona I was stopped in Tucson and harassed over having one headlight out. When I wiggled a wire and the headlight went back on, the trooper has a fit. It is so nice in Mexico where people are treated with respect - that applies less and less in the USA as the years go on. In the USA, they want to enforce rules no one ever even heard of, because they are only looking for writing tickets as though that makes them good at what they do. GREED is prevalent in the USA!!!!
Hello, I just found your page yesterday, and so appreciate all the info. We go to Playa del Carmen about 3 times a year, and decided to give Puerto Vallarta a try. We actually booked a week in November and a week in January. In this video you mention La Huasreca Potosina, would that be worth a day trip on our first trip (for a week) to PV?
Hey we just saw you guys this morning leaving the beach! Wanted to say Hi but missed you as you turned south in front of the end of Pulpito St. Much Aloha from your SD fans! 🤙
Hi guys, I’ll be in Puerto Vallarta the end of May , because of you guys and I can’t wait to take out for lunch or dinner . Please reply so we can get it touch
Maybe try a trip to the "California Sur" region (specifically the Los Cabos region). While the area of Cabo San Lucas tends to be more of a party town for college kids and the "rich & famous", a short bus ride northeast to San Jose may impress you and your subscribers. Many excellent public beaches ( Playa Pamilla, Playa el Chileno and Playa Santa Maria ) to name drop a few. San Jose with its' great Art Walk showing each Thursday eve where the local businesses open up late into the evening with festivities in the local Plaza Mijares. Maybe a trip to that area for your take/recommendations but as a whole, there are MANY fantastic regions/cities/towns in Mexico. As far as speaking Spanish; yes it helps but if you even show any attempts to learning/speaking with the locals, they will bend over backwards to bridge that communication gap... and they are impressed and grateful that you are trying to speak their native tongue. OK... off my soapbox and thanks for the coffee !!!
@@rando348 I am so glad to hear you are having a great time. There are another two Expat couples who after being in Queretaro moved to PV. They needed the ocean. 😂 Hopefully I can visit soon. My best regards to you both.
*Definitely Record Interaction with Police* I have been in México for 1 year and half now, but have spent all my summers and Christmas vacations in México. I have had plenty of interactions with "Federales", Estatales, Municipales, tránsitos and Guarda Nacional. I remember 10, 15, 20 years back the corruption in the police departments was very much a big problem. They use to harass you and intimidated you for bribes. Specially if you have out of state license plates or American plates. Now is much better, even though the police corruption is minor, it still exist. In recent weeks I have traveled from Houston to Cancun in my truck with Texas plates. And multiple trips from San Luis Potosí to Michoacán. I only had three issues. 1- in Silao Guanajuato, Guarda Nacional pulled me over. Stating that it was illegal to have fog lamps on when there is no fog. 2- In San Luis Potosí, State police pulled me over stating that my passengers pillow obstructed my visibility. 3- San Luis Potosí, Municipales pulled me over stating that my window tint was illegal. All three cases were bogus claims to get me to give them a bride. I know my rights so I argued into they let me go. Definitely have all your paperwork in order. FYI: All window tint that is not factory is ILLEGAL in México, my truck had factory tint.
"Jay s", in these comments, suggested that you guys tour around the "gringo gulch". I think that's an excellent idea. You could spend weeks on Baja, but how much of it is gringos intending to live there permanently, and how much of it (like Cancun) is year-round spring break? I think I would avoid Baja, except for one video or so. Baja is a whole 'nother part of Mexico culture, and everybody else on TH-cam does it. Lake Chapala/Ajijic are large expat communities, but is it mainly for retirees? Viewers might like to know. Ditto San Miguel de Allende and Queretaro. This is a crucial question for any potential expat under, say, 50. You have done some wonderful coverage of Mexico City, and maybe inspired other expats from your videos. I love Mexico City! An update might be interesting. Merida, Yucatan is on my radar (Facebook and other social media) as the hippest place to be right now. I would love to learn your impressions on Merida -- everyone says it's hot as hell there, temperature-wise, but full of life and hot for expats. I'm impressed by your love of San Cristobal de Las Casas and the beach towns of Oaxaca. I would love for you to visit Cordoba, Veracruz. That's where I might end up one day, and it's an international tourist town and not a Gringo gulch. Ditto Valle de Bravo, Estado de Mexico!
I'm happy to know that on the subject of your interaction with the police, everything came to a better end. Sounds like you guys got across with one of those useless corrupted examples of the law in Mexico. I'm sorry about you guys, had to go through that.
Is the border San Diego Tijuana open? Since the covid thing I have not traveled out of Columbus Ohio? I know Mexico is open for tourists going by air. Thanks
It is open. I went to Tijuana from California in February. No hassles to cross to TJ, but only residents and American citizens can enter the US at the moment.

I would say quit youtube. Sorry but ever since you came back from that uncalled for hiatus your videos have gone 📉

What was the Spanish app you recommended?
You guys are just nice people! I need Vallarta!
I'm happy to know that on the subject of your interaction with the police, everything came to a better end. Sounds like you guys got across with one of those useless corrupted examples of the law in Mexico. I'm sorry about you guys, had to go through that.
That ramp is crazy. I stay at the Encino every time.
I love Pimsleur too, and I have tried everything!
So enjoyed you guys energy.
First time i get to see a recent video, always has been two year old ones,, love you guys, love PV, i would love to retire around that area..

I live in Tomatlán you guys should definitely go. And visit!
I purchase Pimsleur and find it sooooo boring! I'm still trying to get through it tho.
You guys should do a vlog all in Spanish only. (With subtitles of course! Haha)
Love you guys always!!!
Can you do a video on the ice skating rink ?
Does the farm at Chiapas roast the coffee beans there or did y'all have that done? Did y'all hire a driver or friend to get to Chiapas?
have you guys tried NAPOLI on 200 beside Bancomer? It's amazing for pizza and pasta. A MUST TRY!!
New camera? New lens? Nice job of lighting

Hey guys I thought you will say that the last time you went to el grito de la independencia at the zócalo was one of your best moments 🤔😃
I loved Quarataro! Great weather too. You need to speak conversational Spanish tho. Good shopping!

Where can I purchase your coffee.?
I was curious about the TP situation
Have you ever visited Loreto Baja Calif. Sur?
no not yet but we want to!
@@kinetickennons I recommend staying at Villa del Palmar and hike up to the 17th green.
I really enjoyed that!
You should do a short video on looking back to the 2017 earthquake video.
Guera you should be in a telenovela or a tv show in Mexico, you are very funny and dramatica too 😂😂 love you guys!!
Good Idea Benny I agree with you.
