Speed: ASV vs Competitive Loaders

- Machine speed ratings are often a calculated or theoretical speed based on engineering principles, and many don’t live up to the hype. With ASV, what you see in the spec sheet is what you get in the real world.

Wow the Bobcat operator was totally sandbagging at the start of that “race”
Well, this video was very helpful on telling me which one is best for modding into a tank.
Like a Mini Kill-Dozer! Or Kill-Skid. Or Kill-CAT
Had a 99 ASV HD4500 the thing was a beast , could push or lift most anything we ran into . The hard pipe cracked in the belly pan losing pressure so i swapped them for hose and there was no stopping it .
The svl75 .2 track Kubota on our job blows all other bobcats away an all round awesome machine
philip kauta I agree with you we have a 95 2 speed
Wow I didn't even know these exist. The bucket capacity in the reverse part looked way smaller then the cat.
Let me guess. You kept the CAT in low gear?
Ya more then likely lol
Hi Colton, that certainly wouldn't make for a very good race! Thanks for watching. In many cases the ASV machine in low gear is faster than other loaders in high gear.
All are in low gear except asv
I’m getting a new CTL this fall and looking into the different options, from what I’ve seen the ASV products themselves look like quality pieces and I would actually consider trying out something from their lineup,
but after watching all these obviously biased and rigged comparison videos they have put out, there is no way I could consider buying one.
@@jaxturner7288 You think this is bad....check out the John Deere one. These idiots here chose a 279D with the closed dozer style tracks, against there open stye. The 257D would out perform this ASV in a heartbeat.
It also dumped half its bucket load on the ground
Agv
❤
Are cat skid steer is one of the best pieces of equipment we have and we don’t need it for it’s speed. No one cares about how fast it is as long as it gets the job done
What Deere model is in the video?
Hi, it is the 323E.
The new ASV are are nice machines I'm currently running a John Deere 333G there are no asv dealers in Phoenix.
Lol great dump on the first truck... half the time half in your truck half on our cab ASV.
Yup cat went slower easily controlled whole things probably rigged I want to see a video from cat saying asv is better then it’s true until then I have to run the thing to see what I like
Not good for septics system when traveling in stones and loading, i had one Cat with ASV and the rubber on boogie wheels just got torn apart. great track system but the welds break where the rubber shock is located and connected to the axle leading to the other side. hydraulic line rub against the body where it enter the cab resulting hydraulic fluid leaking all over the place. they may have made some changes but this was a Cat with ASV undercarriage
Bought a 2015 new holland c232 and the 1 hour of running time the small coolant line blew apart due to crimp type clamp. The new holland drive feed hose rubs on the floor causing metal jacket to wear away resulting another hydraulic blow out with fluid all over homeowners property. Changing hose no big deal but take track off.
I'll take a cat 299 all day. Had the machine from 0 hours to 2k and the only problem was one track motor this whole time. Nothing I haven't been able to move yet.
can you tow the 299 with a 2500 gas truck. Not diesel?
Try a commander wicked power
I’ve owned multiples of all theses machines and I love CAT but nothing beats a Bobcat
Exactly
mojoacejake put a bobcat with a mulcher and a asv with a mulcher and watch what happens
هل يوجد منظمة تاتي الى شتوتغارت شارع فاكغايين ٣١ وتندل على اعدام حمزة موصلي
I have a bobcat s205 17 years old still running it works great i like it because of the power from a 60 inch machine and lift I also have a s595 and its ok I like it overall not to impressed with it but it does the job anyone that has a bobcat I suggest welding up that 3/4 inch hole on bottom of skid plate and drilling some small holes instead i had a 3/8 rebar poke my tank , and the only way to fix that is to pull the motor at the tune of $5300 dollars ouch .
Hi do you have any dealers in the UK ??
Hi Chris,
Unfortunately we dont have any dealers in the UK at this time. We will keep you in mind though as ASV continues to expand!
ASV Holdings, Inc. Sooner rather than later would be good you and cat are the only machines with mtl
ASV Holdings, Inc. when will you open a location in Austin Texas?
Hi Ryan,
We are opening new locations all the time! You can find your nearest dealer here: asvi.com/dealer-locator/ and stay tuned for new locations.
We have a ASV and bobcat the bobcat is a lot faster so we sold ASV and got another bobcat...!
Exactly, they kept the bobcat in 2nd gear when they were trying to load the dumptruck and you cant turn sharp, fast in 2nd gear.
No information on competitor equipment or model numbers
This is like those goofy infomercials you see on late at night lol
The Takeuchi goes way faster than that
Hi Robbie, feel free to schedule a demo with your local ASV dealer to see the difference. asvi.com/dealer-locator/
ASV Holdings, Inc. lol yes I will
The Takeuchi will blow that things doors off
Thats the sure indicator it is rigged, the Takeuchi is in slow.
Takis are fast but the track system is garbage. Sidehilling with a full bucket is a nightmare. It's fine with brand new tracks but after a month you have to crab walk it to keep the tracks from peeling off.
The Cat clearly isn't in 2nd gear....ice tested our Cat 259d with an asv 75 and they came out equal in the speed test
No way that cat was goin full throttle loadin that truck
Where's New Holland?
No matter how you look at it bobcat is the way to go cause durability and speed if you had someone to actually run it it’d do better
Exactly.
Sheldon Lane I don’t I have had Kubota, bobcat, case, and Takeuchi. And in my opinion the Takeuchi runs the best and last the longest
Bobcat is a pile of shit and old technology.
Bobcat is out of date with its bullshit H pattern. JOHN DERE I SO is the way to go
Robert844 you must not run equipment then cause you have no idea
Bobcat T650 more Balanced in its design,, for operator comfort and safety, looked at them all Bobcat T650 my clear choice!
The operator is more important then the machine
Kubota's are way faster then what the video shows They probably did not have them in rabbit mode
Don't just take our word for it - we encourage you to demo both with your local dealers!
We bought one of those asvs and it can’t keep up with our Kubota 95 2 speed
I don’t know about everyone else but I wouldn’t want to be flooring my skid steer to the metal loading a dump truck
Lol if you actually had a skid steer
you would know the pedals are not what control your tracks.
@@jaxturner7288 I know the pedals don't control the tracks but I mean I wouldn't want to load a dump truck at full speed
Jack Matuska time is money running equipment, you work as fast as your skill and conditions allow.
You can always tell who the young cowboys are… go like a bat out of hell… make a bloody big mess and thrash f&@k out of their gear… and at the end of the day get no more done then a smooth operator 🤨
Who needs a fast machine. Plan ur work ahead of time so rain dont mess u up.
I like reading all the butt hurt comments, it's fun.
....y yo que soy fan de CATERPILLAR...sin comentarios..:(
Aver cuánto duran esos fierros
Well when you dump half the bucket out over the back loading the dump truck it's going to be faster
Slow n steady wins the race. Wanna replace tracks every 5 hours get u a 3 speed john deere that runs about 13 or 14. Wanna make tracks last few thousand hours or more get u a bobcat 740 and run it normal speed. Take care of it and it'll take care of u.
You don’t need to travel fast in tracked skids good way to ruin a turn motor
What's a turn motor?
asv🎉
Speed and a skid steer don't mix.
I take it you're one of those old school guys that like going 1 mph.
@@arcturusmine775 yeah that's it...smh
Oh, poor baby.
@@arcturusmine775 ? What are ya 12?
hey guys you should reach out to dirt prefect with your skids as he hates the one he has send him a trial skid he may just keep it
Thanks for the suggestion!
Where is new holland ?
Odd how the king of skid loaders wasn't included in your testing!
New Holland
RJ 1999 case and new holland are basically the same
@@jacobschmidt3178 not even close. The case doesn't have the super boom, it's a conventional skid steer
Dude im sorry but New Holland isnt even close to the king of skid loaders.
@@jdgingerich7806 then you never operated one
@@RJ1999x actually i have, i ran a 200hr c232 that was owned by one of the contractors at one of our jobsites and i despise that machine. #1 thing was that it had plastic joysticks, they didnt feel at all quality. #2 the joysticks are not attached to the seat and its suspension system so it doesnt move up and down with the seat when your on rough surfaces. Makes for a harder time controlling it smoothly. #3 door design, its a poor design and i couldnt see the corners of my bucket very well #4 it forced you to wear a seatbelt to operate it. #5 it had no passcode, button start. And no key to lock the door with. #6 the engine is mounted front to back instead of side to side (like BOBCAT) and it made it hard to complete even simple tasks like changing the oil filter or accesing the battery. There were afew other small things i didnt like but i cannot remember what they were. And that is why i dont agree with you that they are king of skidloaders.
That’s video is rigged
Hi Mason, since this is the Demo Challenge we encourage you to give them a demo yourself to see the difference!
Why didn't you compare it to the cat multi terrain model which goes 10 mph
Yea i agree, it is rigged
ASV makes the undercarriage for the CT MTL machines. Same thing exact thing.
Les falta NEW HOLLAND
A little tweak of the pressures.....nothin compares to a CAT or Ingersoll
OR MAYBE
JUST MAYBE you had the operators not go as fast to make yours look better...
ASV probably the only machine in 2 speed lol
Anyone ever lose a track on one these things?
Nope. Lost plenty of tracks on Cat and Bobcat, just counter rotating on a cement floor, I've seen them fall off.
They fall off because you haven’t adjusted the tension correctly ya BOOFHEAD!!!!!!!
Where's the JCB?
I like ASV's, fast, rides better and much better in the snow, JMO.
No new holland. Many be that it's to good
CNH. Case-newholand
same machines different paint and badge.
Bobcat takes it
333 John Deere es lo qué hay
Cállate el osico José tu que sabes si ni siquiera tienes uno
🤨
I prefer John Deere skidsteers.
Just got a brand new one as a rental only one hour on it. I used to like bobcat but the power and ease of John Deere is levels above
I'm still liking cat better lol
Bro I run a bobcat an they are way faster at the start then any machine he must of been in speed 1 an find an operator who knows how to run it quickly sand bagged this one
Kubota or takeuchi.
Nothing runs like a Deere
The jobsites that I work on are not smooth and level like football field. Retry the speed test across washboards and see who the winners are. 🤦🏼 ASV pathetic
Wheres the New Holland? LOL
Yes, ASV is the fastest when going straight with nothing in the bucket. Try using the machine like it would be used with a full bucket and turning! I bet the JD wins!!!
Nope. i did extensvie testing before buying mine and nothing can touch the ASV for speed. Are there things I don't like? Absolutely, but the speed is second to none.
Bobcat operator was trash.. we have two S750s and a T595. Way better than made out to be
Hi Nick, we did this test several times and found the Bobcat loader had a slower rate of acceleration. In this application the engine tended to bog during starts, and the machine accelerated slowly. This showed up again as major factor when truck loading, an application requiring the machine to go from forward to reverse frequently. Its slow acceleration was one reason for the results seen here.
If it bogs on acceleration the fuel or air filter is plugged.
@@ASVCompactEquipment it looked to me like it was kept in 2nd gear when you were trying to do sharp turns to load the dumptruck. Ofc its not gonna be fast
Can’t beat a Deere
CAT beats Deere.
@@Anne_Frank00 bobcat beats cat
Takeuchi beats them all 😂
@@jdgingerich7806 maybe in a fantasy.
Nothing runs like a deere when chased by a bobcat
top speed? Who TF cares about going fast in a CTL.
The reason why the abs won was because that it is a liter than all the others ps you are the 2end worst experience operator
Kubota is way faster than that lol I call bullshit
Asv is a decent machine but speed isn't everything. Asv is worlds better than Wacker and Bobcat but I wouldn't compare it to Cat or Deere.
Get asv if you want to replace rubber coated idlers and have the tracks skipping or jamming all the time. Rubber coated shit doesn't belong on an undercarriage. Asv is shit.
Yeah, kinda like the Bobcat track. Rubber coated chains that rust out and separate and wreck the track. Very good point and astute observation!
