📍 Location is Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Next to Hongshulin MRT station, top of red line. 🏠 There are bigger apartments with 1/2 bedrooms in the community too. 🤝 Need assistance moving to Taiwan or if you’re already here, visit mattwardconsulting.com 💜 Thank you for watching, love you all!
Ended up at my old stomping grounds. Lively night market, nice riverside pathway, cool historical sites, and fun to watch the sunset on non-weekend days at Fisherman's Wharf. I'm sure you already know all that xD. Enjoy the new place.
@@mattasialife Just a short 10-minute bike/scooter ride away. I would love to be back in Taiwan, but instead I get the joy of paying American rent prices.
Yes mate, if you was moving in with nothing, it had everything you need, even a tv which I had to move and new mattress. Most I saw in this building when I was looking at the time, was also furnished. I brought my own desk, chair, kettle, oven, rice cooker, TV and a few shelf objects. Cheers 🍻
Holy smokes that's a good place. My place that my company got me through a broker costs more than 3 times this and the apartment is not nearly as big as yours! And it's new taipei city too...
Oh mate that sucks, I would hope companies do a better job on that but truth is, they don’t really know or they don’t care….some companies use my services too, to get places for their staff. Hope it works out ok 💪🏽
Thanks for doing what you do bro, I am 60 soon, very active, musician and former athlete. I am trying to figure out how I retire and I love food outside of our neck if the Continent.
Cheers dude very appreciated. In that note if you’re thinking of retiring later on outside of Taipei but not a completely different city, these New Taipei City areas can bring house costs down / you can rent some spaces from 10,000nt a month upwards, around the Tamsui link line area, in newer apartments.
Yes mate, and that also includes maintenance fee and wifi. Tamsui area and especially this pink line area, is now, in my opinion, the best value for money in terms or buying and renting. and so far so good. The pool has been amazing!
Today is around 92 degrees and it says 66% humidity. Even Taipei has been weird this year so far for humidity and it feels like it’s been hotter - it’s been more humid than Philippines where I’ve just returned from which is weird. This area and also xindian by rivers can be more humid but without the city traffic building it up with smog, mostly where some areas are in a basin too which makes it even hotter. We do have different seasons here though, cooler winters but not freezing at all. They like baseball here, they do have some clubs I believe, a lot of matches to watch too. But couldn’t tell you too much about it although, it is always on the tv!
Not really. Most are long term rentals from agents or homeowners. It might be worth looking on AirBandB at Dansui/Tamsui area and that is Monaco community. If you’re looking for a place in Taipei, check out my other videos, you will find affordable hotels and rental options for people who have just arrived - there are some times short term rentals in the Facebook groups too (I talk about these in some of my other videos). Later on if you need assistance for renting, I offer services to help people with this, also helping with sourcing and local communications with landlords / ladies & agents. More info on mattwardconsulting.com Stay cool.👌
That’s my focus now, value. What do I get for what I pay, because now, Taipei is trying to be less like an Asian city and more like an over priced, under value giving western one. Especially when you away to Malaysia and Philippines, amazing everything….. A few locals use the pool but I’ve only seen a handful use the gym and pool tables etc. they don’t have a community Facebook group which most usually do, so you can arrange table tennis partners and other stuff. Maybe I can start one …. For my own selfish needs 😂😂
@@mattasialife prices go up but the salaries stagnate... it's not the best city for online workers compared to SE asia. are the teaching salaries going up in Taipei at least?
Exactly this. Lately I had a few clients who can all work remotely and wanting Taipei, I recommended at least another part of Taiwan (many foreigners in Taitung these days), or absolutely Vietnam / Malaysia / Phils / Thai etc etc Teaching salaries still around the same as I remember from a decade ago, hourly rates at the good old 600-700 am hour, more can be found 800 and a few 900-1k. Many people now turning to privates. Even makes more sense for coaching / tutoring small groups at 450 an hour. Prices go up 30%…. Let’s keep salaries the same. That should work. And now random food just jumps anything from 10-50% no explosion action needed 😂 A couple of typhoons? No problem, let’s double the green leaves from 23nt to 43nt ….. nobody will notice. Even some full time gigs are still embarrassingly from 65k a month …. Which then makes hourly rates more appealing without being locked down to a school for 100 hours a day.

@@mattasialife damn, sounding like a grind. Im glad there are still other cities available or living further outside taipei for cost effective living.
Nice place, bro. At least you get what you pay for.
Many people in the city paying towards 30k for a new building shoe box 😂😂
All I wanted was a pool I can use.
