+KotoniGloomside Simply coming from Gridania my first time into Limsa Lominsa during the daytime... "What is this bombastic wave of awesomeness that is this music?" Also, nice Syura avatar.
man idk I started in Gridania, but the music feels like hokey jrpg starting town music, so much so that it wasn't until I got to Limsa Lominsa that I realized how good the music in this game is lol
I started in Gridania, and adored that theme, then when I journeyed as envoy to Limsa Lominsa, I was blown away. What a way to welcome a city into your heart. I love the forest, but the sea calls to me even more. I am home.
Same. I have no regret starting in Gridania as I wanted a Viera archer, but once I reached Limsa Lominsa for the first time, I knew this would be my favourite coty =D
Such an evocative theme, the composers really nailed the feeling of a grand adventure unfolding before you and the players first steps into a huge world.
I'm really glad that I'm not the only person that feels a strange sense of kinship with a particular town. The other towns are nice, and hell, the night music in ul'dah is probably my next favorite track in the game, but god, I hear the Limsa theme and my heart is just taken home, Its so fucking cozy, I feel myself having grown quite attached to the quaint port city.
This reminds me of Wind Waker in a great way. It just oozes "This is a huge world filled with exciting, dangerous and downright weird places! Mystery, adventure, treasure, everything!" It's just so adventurous...It's beautifully paraphrasing the entire MMORPG experince! Also fits perfectly to the pirate-theme. This game wins my award for "most atmospherical MMORPG".
*takes deep breath* Aaahh...do you smell that? Opportunity, greatness, glory? The smell of ADVETURE on the wind?! My brothers and sisters, opportunities are there to be taken!
I'm still a sprout in the middle of Heavensward. Gotta say, I love every visit I have to Limsa these days. It's just home, man. Always gotta hang around the aetheryte plaza for a bit, and visit both the Arcanists' guild and the Drowning Wench. Can't emphasize how much I love Baderon. I remember Alphi saying that, even though a thing happened relatively recently (what, two months?), it still feels nostalgic. As a now-Summoner, my beginnings as a little ol' Arcanist will forever stick with me throughout this adventure. With how surreal it felt when I first played the game, it's crazy how I've really just gotten started.
oh by the twelve gods this song fills me with SO MUCH PRIDE. It nigh brings tears to my eyes. I don't care if it's "just a game"; everybody gets their inspiration from someplace different! Long Live Admiral Merlwyb Bloefiswyn!
i got this game back in mid january (late christmas present) and played it non stop for about 4 months. atleast like 5 hours or more every single day for 4 months straight. eventually i had to put it down lol but damn did i enjoy those times. this channel is now convincing me to go back and give things another run. good memories :3 thanks for posting these songs mekkah
Started only a week ago as an Arcanist. It’s so cool walking through this place and seeing just how far I have to go. I got lost here a lot at first but now it’s always nice to return to. Feels like home!
My goodness, this piece makes me feel quite a bit nautical~ Both this and the night theme are perfect for Limsa. Been playing for 2+ years and I still never get tired of either. I think I would have been just as happy hearing this as my introduction to XIV city thems as I was the day theme for Ul'dah, where I actually started.
So, I'd been wanting to play this game for years, and when I finally got a machine powerful enough to run it and was convinced to actually try it out, first I have that marvelous title screen main theme. And after the character creation and all, I start here, with this music. Limsa is home.
Can't play anymore for now since school started, but this music keeps the realm alive in a nostalgic and pleasing way. Plus I don't lose as many hours as i did in the summer. Win/win!
So, just bought a KRK 10S subwoofer yesterday to go with my Presonus Eris E5 studio monitors... this song and Ul'Dah day theme... you have NO IDEA. SO FUCKING EPIC. I loved these pieces before, this just breathes SO MUCH LIFE into them! It's AWESOME.
When I hear this music, it reminds me of being a sprout and being so new knowing nothing of the game. I wish I still had that same feeling of wonder and mystery towards it. I want to mess around in this new fantasy world not really knowing what I’m doing. Exploring areas with cute, immersive fantasy music. Now all I just think about new content and think of the game so critically. Raiding really changed my view on the game for better and for worse. I wish I took my time and savoured that new feeling more.
I can say without a doubt, that without Limsa Lominsa my time spent in this game would not have been nearly as memorable. We all need a place where everyone can just be themselves, no matter who you are.
I ran to catch a train listening to this on loop and jumped in the wagon right when 00:01:20 hit and let me tell you that was one of the most satisfying things I've ever experienced.
i started off in Ul'Dah, and even though it as a special place in my heart along with it's music, when i got here, i fell instantly in love with the place.
Coming from WoW, Limsa Lominsa has to be one of my favourite MMO cities, up their with Orgrimmar. Like, Orgrimmar has the feel of a massive barbarian stronghold masquerading as a city, but Limsa Lominsa has the feel of a massive pirate port masquerading as a city. Also, the combination of stark white of limestone against the blue of the ocean makes me think of a fantastical version of the Greek islands.
Ah yes, being blasted in the ears as the map finally loads in and you find your character stuck in between two barely clothed catgirls posing aggressively. Good times
I wonder if Soken got inspired by How to Train your Dragon when composing for this game since it came out a couple months after the movie. There’s certain parts of the theme that sound like Test Drive.
"Has......has it truly been five years? Five long years since I last walked these stony steps.. Five years since I felt this salty breeze on my face and inhaled adventure, tasted endless opportunities.. Five years since I met those I'm proud to have called friends, even if ever so briefly. Eda, Eth, Mae, Waj, S'dras, Lep... Oh, the memories! I salute you all!" - The man with the pokey-stick
Unfortunately I didn't start here but I have not looked back so far when I reached this town, loved its tune and became a marauder and joined the maelstrom. "Till sea swallows all!!"
I started in Uldah and the piano music was amazing. Then I got blasted by this and felt amazing. Almost as amazing as when you walk into Stormwind thenfirst time on wow, even though I play horde.
My heart belongs to Ul'dah, and her theme is my absolute favourite, but man, anyone who doesn't think that the Lominsan theme absolutely slaps doesn't have a soul!
My FC was based in mist housing district. I've sat around that house for hours. However during the time I couldn't pay my sub alot happened and RISE disbanded. I never realized how much it fealt like home. Leonis Stellehbrae walks alone for now.
As someone new to FF14 this gives me a Monster Hunter vibe. Like this feels like a Gathering Hub theme, fitting since I've noticed Limsa is always packed with people.
I may have studied my adventurer's trade in Ul'dah, but my heart and soul will forever belong among the waters La Noscea and the sea faring folk of Limsa Lominsa. 'Til the sea swallows all!
Jolly inspiring music that just makes you want to become a swashbuckling pirate or sailor and sail the all the seas of Eorzea, no, all of Hydaelyn even. Exploring dangerous and uncharted waters and discovering unknown lands, aye there be no life quite like the seafaring sort, thats for certain. Anyone else getting a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' vibe at 3:46 with those strings?
If I were to play this game, I'd start as either a Pugilist, a Rogue, a Marauder, a Gladiator, a Lancer, or a Thaumaturge. Each one appeals to me. But if I had to pick one based on starting location, I'd pick Rogue or Marauder at the drop of a hat! I LOVE Limsa Lominsa! I LOVE how it looks! I love it's lore. I LOVE the fact that it's a sea town. And most importantly of all, I LOVE THE MUSIC! I don't care for MMOs, but if I was forced to play one MMO, it'd be this one, and I'd pick Limsa Lominsa as my starting city. TILL SEA SWALLOWS ALL!
I remember this place a lot. I originally rolled Lancer. Swapped to rogue after a few levels to be a ninja. And I get hit w this theme while going to the rogues guild.
I started in Ul'dah, but I've already come to love this place because of the amount of RP antics here. Granted I still can't navigate it to save my life, so I should probably spend a bit of time learning the layout XD
Those memories of walking off that boat as a Level 1 arcanist then getting blasted with this tune

I spawned in Thanalan, but my heart is in La Noscea.
Same, man! *brofists* Proud SMN main, here. ^_^
Those will never be forgotten.
Every time I hear this I think "This is MY town, my home, my place" my friend said he has the same feelings toward the Gridania music.
My damn FC bought our mansion in Gridania. Im a Limsa man myself.
shihoblade My FC is like that with Ul'dah and is flames affiliated, but I'm more into Limsa and am part of Maelstrom.
man idk I started in Gridania, but the music feels like hokey jrpg starting town music, so much so that it wasn't until I got to Limsa Lominsa that I realized how good the music in this game is lol

WoW refugee here. I've fallen in love with this soundtrack and the city's atmosphere.
Welcome home.
Started playing FFXIV last week and I'm so glad I picked Limsa Lominsa as my start point, This music absolutely blew me away!
That theme at 4:45 is just insane
This reminds me of Wind Waker in a great way.
