Very cool!! The nostalgia of these brands that we took for granted back then. I'd love to have them all back, proudly made in America. Merry Christmas John. Thanks for sharing those gems
I had that old Craftsman folder as a kid. You could only get them from the Sears catalog back then. Excellent carbon blade steel on par with the Shrade old timer and pretty much everything back then. Serious nostalgia, John. Merry Christmas. 🤙🏼
Back when we were growing up my dad found a cardboard cigar box in my brothers closet full of black powder he had found laying around and just decided to keep In there not knowing what it was. After he found it, looking for a missing tool that one of us had probably borrowed, I stopped hiding crap from my dad because I realized he was kinda snoopy and he had a new nickname of snoopy between us kids. I started hiding things in a room in the barn he didn't even know about which was kinda stupid. My brother's had a pack of cigs in there I had a crappy BB handgun . Even though I had a really nice long rifle he was against handguns
Great video. I really like both of these knives, but the color of the stagalon on that UH is pretty nice. I have one just like it but the color on mine is bland compared to yours! That’s for showing it off!
Great video John... Love you them knives, plus a great story too. Thanks man. Funny how you mentioned Craftsman became I just bought a camping knife at a flee market about a week ago. It has a spear blade, awl, can opener, bottle opener, and a bail. Looks like Jigged Bone, but probably Darlin .. Tang says CRAFTSMAN USA 9549 on it.. Craftsman oval badge. Other than patina, it's perfect condition. ... What ya think about this?? 60"s?
Are you from Cherokee, NC John? I live just up the road from there in Maggie Valley, NC. I have to keep away from Cherokee though because that big casino will take all my knife buying money away😂
Great memory.👍

I’ve got a 9552 Craftsman exactly like yours, and is in about the same shape. It’s still a very viable everyday knife. Thanks for sharing your story.
