I'm thinking about buying one. I've only just bought an old Corolla automatic but it drinks fuel. I use my car for business (NHS) work. I bought an auto because all my journeys are in town. I wanted a hybrid but the catalytic converter theft put me off. This however might be my answer because they're so rare they might fall under the radar, especially if I removed the hybrid badge. The rubbish rear seats don't bother me because I'm single and I'd want to use it as a micro van anyway. It'd mean going back to a manual but I worked out it'd save me £80 a month in fuel and road tax costs. I also think they look great (like a little space shuttle.) I love the interior and think it's better than modern interiors with their stark ipad type dashboards. I'm really smitten. I've only had the Corolla 3 weeks lol. I might wait another month and start looking seriously. Good review. Thanks.
The only thing I will say about them is that good examples hold their price very well. I bought a 2010 Sport in May 2023 from a dealer with 6 months warranty, full service history, long MOT and only 58k miles for £5200. It's not given me the slightest bit of trouble since.
somebody said that because this car using part engine and part motor, that is why the engine temperature not warm enough especially in extrem cold winter so that the petrol not completely burning which will eventually go mix with oil cause big problem. Is that true or not?
Are they reliable ? Have an option of same model locally in this very model and colour or a white automatic . .. one thing I like in the automatic is the camera
I’m at 152k miles, hasn’t had to be brought in for anything, I’m the 2nd owner. Just fluid changes, and oil changes here and there. Careful with the door handles when opening it, just use enough force to pop the door open and then use the frame. The factory clear coat sucks ass. Other than that it’s been great, getting 38-43MPG with an aftermarket intake, exhaust and added header.
Great review as always Barrie :) My boss had one of these as a company car from 2011 to 2015. Lovely to drive, great gearchange and with the rear seats folded he got two big dogs in the back, so more practical than it looks!
This is not the 2011 model. It’s the 2013 model. 2013 model was fitted with the Push Start button, and a S+ button. I wish I have the 2013 model, but not in my country. We only have the 2010 (JP import) and 2011 model (MY import). I own a 2010 model.
A nice affordable Hybrid car, and something a little different from a Prius
Is it better than the Prius?
From 2024: Barrie, still the best reviews on TH-cam.
Great review!
I just bought one as my first car and I love it so much😄
Enjoy it
Same
There are compartments under the back seats as well.
Nice interior design. Nice dashboard. Like spaceship
I was only looking at these last week as well. Good timing !
it's a bit different

did you get one? thinking the same way, but the prices seem a bit mad. 2.5k would be alright but most seem advertised over 5k

Very interesting and nice looking little Hybrid these with a manual box 👌🏻
Great car. Barrie. This car will need to go in for the Annual Service ASAP. it Yearly service is almost up. So it will need booking in.
I actually got 2 teens fit into mine, definitely not the best ride for them, we’re pretty tall too.
wow, i wouldnt like to be stuck in the back

The automatic will be an import. They didn't sell the auto version in the UK. Having said that, you might not be in the UK.
Is it just me or when you were showing the key at the start you said
"ive seen that many fucking honda keys"
Might have misheard it haha!
I think i said "Broken" but i have been known to use the F word
Dude your voice is so monotone , i find it difficult to stay awake.
You stayed awake long enough to leave a negative comment though, funny that isn’t it, ah well you can’t please everyone 😂
hybrid and a manual... so gonna buy 1 day
rare beasts
@@BarrieCrampton rare so true

Thank you, and thanks for watching
Awesome car
I am not very fond of electric or indeed hybrid cars
Do you need to plug these in to charger them?
No.
Cruise control in the UK is a bit of a joke lol - I've never used mine.
it can bee
It depends what part of the country you're in and when you drive. Some motorways and dual carriageways are quiet.

Oh, my bad. Just realised this model doesn’t have S+, and some model of 2011 has the Push Start button. Oh well. My apologies.
@@FerdySG I know this is an old comment, the 2013s got the new seats.
It's too nice for English people, so they have only few for foreigners in the UK.
not sure what you mean
@@BarrieCrampton I don't expect you do so
Good Chat thanks
