- Kyle and Jon lower a 88-98 Silverado for a subscriber with the Mcgaughys 4/6 drop kit with notch. Turns out doing this drop with 15” wheels calls for some modifications to the lower control arms. Thanks Randy for allowing us to work on the truck. Thanks Phil over at Twisted Images for having great customer service as always. And thank you all for your support.

Thanks for supporting the channel, we enjoyed doing it for you.
I like this channel. Subbed. Sorry I'm a year late but yall are inspiring me to lower my obs tahoe
Thank you for the kind words. We appreciate all of our subscribers
I just finished my kit. Watched your video about 20 times.
Appreciate that, hope we offered some kind of info that helped you on your project
@@Outlandish_FamilyI noticed you didn’t do the bolts at the bottom of the C notch.. I didn’t either. You think it’s fine like that?
Yea I think it’s fine. If all the other bolts don’t hold it than that one extra wouldn’t either.
I got a 89 same color same wheels, 8 in the front 10s in the back, good looking truck
Thanks
Aye that truck is from my neck of the woods!!! Great job gents!!
Thank you. Appreciate you watching
The original 2 tone would have been sick.
I agree. Thanks for watching
I’d recommend getting shock extensions for those rear shocks I tore some brand new bell techs a couple years back anyway nice truck
The shocks are made for this drop. I put some miles on it and it rode great, the shocks still had plenty of travel. Plus it does have the bump stop in to keep it from bottoming out on the frame and the shock.
just seen this video, awesome job, I have a 97 gmc step side extended cab I am about to lower, maybe a 3/4 drop. Oh is that an old school datsun in the back ground. I have a 69 datsun that was my dads he taught me how to drive in that truck.
Thanks for watching, and yes that is an old Datsun that we worked on a little in previous videos. She needs some love, we will get back to her one day
U B WILLING TO DO THE SAME THIMG TO MY 1990 CREAPUFF OBS all original, u guys r awesome keep it up
Send us a DM on our facebook page and I will see what we can work out. Thanks for supporting the channel
Great video guys 👍🏼…I just got me a 94 step side single cab..first thing I want to do is lower it
Good choice! Thanks for watching and good luck on your project
If I were to get more control arms, which one should I get? Do you guys install drop shackles?
It just depends on what you are doing. There are so many companies out there that make arms right now. Summit has tubular arms that are clones of ride techs and they are way cheaper. We have compared the two and they are identical.
how do i get that one dudes autograph? i think his names brian
He’s kinda an asshole but I could probably arrange to get you an autograph 😂
Can confirm, he is an asshole 🤣🤣🤣
I’m doing an 84 right now running 20 is the front already now I gotta do the back on your front shop did stock shop work or did you have to get a 2 inch slower shop with the back?
If your talking about the shocks, yes you have to get a shorter shock with this much drop
How did you end up finishing the exhaust? I have the same dual setup currently and it’s in the way. Thx!
We cut it off in front of the axle and let the owner take care of it after he picked it up. That’s what we agreed on before we started on it.
@@Outlandish_Family Gotcha!
Great job you guys ! What size tires you guys running on the truck ? My son and I are getting the same kit for his 99 Tahoe he's running 15x8 Chevy truck rallys
It had 275/60/R15 on it. Thanks for watching. Good luck on your project.
@@Outlandish_Family275/60 cleared everything as far as tire rub I’m not concerned with wheel / lca I already have mine notched
I’m curious about the 275/60 long term bumps steering did it ever rub with 275/60 and was the tires ever changed to smaller set on front?
Thanks
Did you have any issues with the track width on the front? I'm looking at ordering the same kit but it says it widens the track width? Is it enough to matter?
No issues. Only thing we ran into was the control arms hitting with the smaller size wheels. A little bit of clearance done to the lower arms and good to go.
Hey just installed this kit and I can’t turn the wheels all the way. Did you adjust the tie rod lengths?
We left it to the customer to get an alignment but when I drove it I feel like I remember being able to turn lock to lock. I did have to trim some of the lower arm for wheel clearance
How can I get you guys to install a drop for me? Would be willing to stick around and see the process in person.
We honestly don’t have the time or the space to do it for ya. Our projects are pretty much taking up the shop, but Brandon over at Lower Class Fab could probably get you hooked up
What is the part number for parts brother or were do i get them from nice work brother tanks
All the part numbers are listed in the description of the video. I ordered the parts through Phil over at Twistedimages.com. I don’t think they are listed on his site but shoot him a message and he can definitely help you out. Also thanks for supporting the channel.
Any rubbing on fenders
275/60 fronts ? They must run at some points on the fenders ? Did you do a 275/60 in front with the 4” drop or 255/60
As far as I can remember they were 275/60 all the way around but I can’t be sure. We done it for one of our viewers a while back. Haven’t seen truck since.
@@Outlandish_FamilyYea I’m basing my tire selection any day off of videos with diff combos I have a flipped c notched 98 suburban 2wd
Guys run 275/60 on backs like
The 454ss had . Some run 255//60 on all 4 and some even run 225/70s in front on a 5” front drop
The wheels looked huge for a 4” drop that’s why I asked if the cleared any rub on the front
@@Outlandish_FamilyI’m thinking I’m gonna run 245/60 fronts and 255/60 rears since I’m slammed
Current tires on are stock 235/75s they are fine but too narrow for my liking
That standard cab Truck looks good 👍
@Chevro91 I had to modify the lower arms slightly but after that no rubbing that I know of.
@@Outlandish_Family yea I have had mine lowered once it’s all set up the trim on the lcas bee done I’m just basing the tire size findings that work for a larger tire like the 275/60 or 255/60
Without any rubbing
what size tire are you running on the 4/6?
I think it had a 275/60/r15 but I’m not 100% on that.
Yes it is 275/60/15. With 15x8 rallies
@@LarryGunter-d4w
My truck is already notched I am trying to figure out front tire clearance on front
Was the front also 275/60 or just the back
255/60 would been better on fronts
Was this Drop a 2” spindle and 2” spring ?
@@Outlandish_Family
Was this 275/60 front or just back
Was the front 2” spindle and 2” spring drop what was the configuration
Yes 2” spindle and 2” spring
How much do you charge for this ?
Thanks for watching. We don’t normally take on customers. Check with Brandon @lowerclassfab he can get you a quote
I wonder how long cut frames last?
As long as it’s done right it will last the lifetime of the truck.
Perfect height. 🤌🏻
