    Nice mail call. I'm glad you are sharing the importance of chamfering the bottom of the eye so as not to create a shelf and a weak point above the shoulder. Looks like you have the hang of it 😅 I can't wait to see the custom handle.

      Thank you. Some people might think it’s a small detail, but I think it’s important to chamfer the eye. Good to hear from somebody who recognizes that. Thanks so much for your visit and hope you have a great weekend.

      I notice your TH-cam name and wonder are you a specialist with knots? About five years ago, I started learning some different knots, and have begun to use them because I really don’t like ratchet straps. Just call me curious.

    • @oldguyknots

      I'm not an expert. I started making paracord lanyards for my EDC knives and toolbags. I then started making paracord keychains and have actually sold a few so I've been thinking of selling them on-line too. Hence the name.

    Excellent job, thanks for the tutorial, just hung a 3 1/2 lb Craftman axe head on a hickory handle, it took several days just to bring the head back into shape, but it did come out great, the thing is I struggle getting the handle shaped just right to fit the head, always a struggle, but I have yet to lose a head of a handle. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching.

      @@toolscouter Good question I have a propensity for old Harley Davidson Sportsters to follow me home. I focus on the old motors that had cylinder heads of cast iron, they call the engines Iron Head and therefore Iron Head Rescue or ihrescue.

    • @toolscouter

      That’s a great explanation. I appreciate so much you stopping by regularly. I hope you’ll come by For a visit anytime. Have a great weekend.

    • @ihrescue

      @@toolscouter I think I was in the general vicinity when @toolscouter was county subscribers in the hundreds. Thanks for asking about the name. The I H is for Iron Head as in Iron (cylinder) Heads on older Harley Davidson Sporters, kind of a sporty tractor on two wheels. Old Sportsters seem to follow me home like a rescue so IHRescue or Iron Head Rescue.

    • @toolscouter

      😄 that’s the exact same way it is with me and tools. They followed me home as rescues as well. thanks for sharing.

    you're saying an axe does not have a hardened poll but a hatchet does, I've never that before.

    • @toolscouter

      Technically, this is true. From a practical sense most people don’t say it this way. Here’s a video I made and another video ScoutCrafter made on the subject. Hope you enjoy it and have a great day.
