I prefer the gen 4s too so 499 plus 100 for sights and I live the vp9 trigger but the reset and the placement of the trigger is too far forward and some people have missed the reset on them which is weird. I’m not a glock fanboy but I like them. I prefer CZ. Give me a P10c and I’m good to go

I love my Glock 19 to carry. I came back to the beginning. It’s fun to watch the evolution of your videos.
After I had repeated malfunctions with my Glock 26, I gave up on Glock completely. Sig, HK, Walther = no problems, ever.
You compare the gun prices, but neglect to mention that you upgraded from the stock sights on the glock adding an additional $100. It's 600 vs 600 when you consider replacing the "placeholder" sights that the glock ships with. I think there is a tendency to pretend that stock glocks are 10/10, then people upgrade the sights, undercut the trigger guard, stipple the frame, replace with a flat trigger or trigger kit, add a steel guide rod, machine the slide with front cocking serrations, etc. The VP9 already has all of that: Undercut trigger guard, enlarged trigger guard, flat trigger face, steel guide rod, great stippling with grip panels, front slide serrations, etc. Whether you like the glock better, subjectively, is your opinion. Feature comparison is not subjective, and sides heavily with the VP9.

Scotticus I keep all my glocks stock, glock night sights which I might change out. Might....but everything else is good to go.
i have this conversation a lot at the gun counter. How can you possibly say that a gun that needs a new barrel, a new trigger and new sights to make itself anything like a Sig, Walther or HK any kind of a bargain. Why not grab it out of the box and have a great firearm?

H&K been in the game since 1946. Glock came around near 1988....
1982 I used my first Glock in the service in 1984, Personally I carried always Sig Sauer and HK pistols, I switched to Glock due tested reliability, lower weight, huge aftermarket parts and even holsters options, Another thing is Sig and HK are way overpriced for civilians. Buy a Glock and keep 200 to 500 bucks in the bank.

Thanks -- an invaluable, key comparison. It says a lot for the G19 that it's the one everything's compared to; part of that is it is a solid pistol, the other part is it's something everybody knows! Seeing how anything stacks up to it is great info.

I’m a Glock head. But I do like the grip and mag release on the VP9.

Sold my Glock 19 and bought a VP9 after shooting my buddies HK. I carry a subcompact .40 and for my needs the VP9 was the ticket, great trigger and ergo! Thanks for posting, to each his own...!
Love my VP9. I have a G17 as well. Both have been 100% reliable.
Nice! Interestingly, i just bought a G17 from a friend Gen 3. He loved it but needed the cash...its in great shape. Have not shot it yet, i just could not pass it up for the money!! He had Glock install a 3.5 lb trigger and it has polished feed ramp...Another one for the collection!
$500 for a G19 G4 and $650 for a standard VP9????? I call BS! Buds is one of the cheapest places to get any firearm and they have the G19 G4 listed for $550 which doesn't include transfer ect. and the VP9 LE which has actual night sights and 3 mags for $650. The VP9 LE is worth the extra $100 and is better in every way except for the fact that it's a bit larger than the G19. I own both, and if given the choice would choose the VP9 over the G19 any day of the week. I find it to be softer shooting in regards to a better recoil impulse which puts me back on target perfectly. The trigger kicks the living shit out of the Glock trigger, the sights are far superior, the build quality is better, the grip angle/stippling is a dream and the accuracy is outstanding. The VP9 prints a little more than the G19 but it's so minimal I have to swap them back and forth to really see the difference. They also feel the same appendix IWB carry. Don't get me wrong, I love Glock as I own 4, but the G19 doesn't compare to the VP9 in any way if you are a seasoned shooter.

@@garymetcalfe3584 I just looked at Grab-A-Gun, Bud Gun Shop and Top Gun Supply.... they all sell VP9 and G19 for around the same price....Grab A Gun has some VP9's for $500, the only VPs that are around $650 are the LE or tactical versions
Can you buy the VP9 LE if you're not a police officer? I know some other brands you cannot. But I'm not sure what specifically changed with the VP9 LE aside from more mags.

Glock is awesome because you can spend a bunch of money to replace most of the parts. Glock is better because it is a few dollars cheaper out of the box. LolZ

-I shot one, I wasn't impressed, glock and p320 both shot better, walther ppq too. I'll give the vp a win over the m&p2.0 and maybe the p10c but not the glocks and p320. As far as money goes $650 isn't alot to pay for a pistol, my 226, revolvers, are all costed me more than the value pistol 9.
hk sucks. more parts, goofy paddle release, $50 magazines, no good aftermarket sights only those outdated 3 dots. It weigh more than a g 17 but has a 4 inch barrel. More muzzle flip. Plus it did lousy on the torture test on military arms.
Firearms aside, the lighting while shooting was damn on point 👌🏼

Got my VP9 for $519 nib... Regularly see them online for $550 or less. Can find them for nearly same price as a Glock 19 Gen 4 if look.
Glock is a Toyota Camary while HK VP9 is BMW M5
Vp9sk has a amazing trigger and the 2nd shot was always right back on to the iron sights (on target) but mine was stolen i miss it now 😭 might have to settle for a glock 19 i guess 😒

all these glock fan boys. Man I started with a glock 22, then I grew older and wiser. not saying there is anything wrong with glock. however, they are not the best gun out there. Glock is like budweiser, it will do the Job and get you drunk. Yet leave you with a nasty hangover and watered down taste. there is better beer out there. Only reason people buy them is they are cheap. to each it's own but I'll take an HK or FN pistol over any glock, I don't care what the price difference is.
I like the vp9 waaaay more than the g19. the one advantage of the g19 is the grip length. it's perfect for my hand.
I love them both and have carried a Glock for the past 25 years but.......I tend to shoot the VP-9 better and I'm not sure why. I'm a big H&K fan and have several rifles from the 80s but I tend to trust the Glocks more so that's what I use day to day. I like the fact that I can change calibers by simply picking up a different gun and have everything else stay the same.
I have the VP 9 and a Glock 17, I like them both. My friends really like the VP 9 better. To each their own.

monkeyboy8me if H&K comes out with a 33 Factory magazine. then they better then glock. Glock is still King you can get a hundred round drum 33-round magazine for your Glock 19 Glock 26 you can get a 22 round Factory magazine for your Glock 23 40 Smith & Wesson.
For years the only thing that I was shooting was Glock pistol (G17,19,23,26,43,21) and the main reason I stoped shooting Glocks was because the por ergonomics of the grip ,one day I started asking myself if there's omething better out there and I discovered , Sigs,XD9, mod 2, and HK VP9, a total different feeling, in perceived recoil(namely Pain!) and. Omfort and lasting accuracy,. I lost some money on my Glocks ,, currently don't own one and I don't regret it, I am 55 years old and have skinny hands, so Glocks were part of my youth, but no anymore.

While I pretty much agree with your assessment, I have one thing to add.
The texturing on the glock grip sucks. It looks like the vp9 has better texturing.
As soon as my hands get sweaty I find myself constantly adjusting my grip making follow up shots a little slower with the glock.
Just my 2 cents and great comparison video.
Glocks have changeable triggers and sights, because the stock ones suck so bad. So spend an additional $150 for a trigger and $100 for front and rear sights?

VP9 hands down over my Glock19 gen5s, Better ergo, best trigger, canon grade barrel. If I had to grab a gun for immediate home defense, I want to feel the chamber and hammer status without having to take my eyes off the situation and know that I have accuracy when collateral assets in range. So I search a little more for a holster, honestly. I don't need to hunt for aftermarket upgrades. I know I can't out think the H&K engineers.

Good comparison, I have agree with some of the post below, out of box Glocks are rare, I have gen 4 19 and 17, I have replaced sights, mag release, slide release, polished internals and undercut the trigger guard. That's an additional 150.00. Compare that to a stock VP9, you can probably get more bang for the buck on the VP9.
How about a Glock VP9, or a H&K G19?

Seriously. Which is better, guys? I held both of them before. But only fired the Glock 19 Gen 4, and never the VP9. Held it many times as I did with the G19. But of course again, never fired the VP.

+james cash lol one gun is not necessarily better than another.. Its all about what you like best, trigger, mag release, grip angle, ext. I own all types of guns as well and glock is not even my favorite its just the one people relate to the most because of its popularity.
glocks are good guns. but people always compare guns to Glocks. what about vice a versa. how about how Glock is up to their 4th generation and they still come with sh!tty sights, they still have a proprietary rail which people give HK UPS's sh!t for. not to mention most people don't even use a Glock stock. so what does that say for the pistol honestly.
Glock does need to offer better sight options or just sell it without the plastic sights. They should also just include extended controls on all newer models. They should also sell Apex or Zev trigger options or just make their own better flatter trigger or sell all these features in one gun you can buy. You change every part on the stock gun and they still call it Glock perfection. Lol. With that said I shoot Glock with modifying everything on the pistol and prefer it to anything else. It just shoots better.
Glock does that to keep the price competitive.
The gun still works fine stock and is still going to be more accurate that the shooter in most cases.
That's why glock has strong aftermarket support. You can turn it into anything you want. Or you can pay a little more and just buy a gun with more standard options.
In fact you can get a sig p320 for about the same price as a glock and the sig is an overall better gun.
The only place where the sig is lacking is aftermarket support and the fact that the gun is still pretty new and doesn't have the track record of glock yet.
Vp9s are pretty good. Love them. Not bashing Glocks.

We have to remember that this is what is called a "good problem". We are talking about two of some of the best semi-autos on the market. I had owned an HK USP 9 for about 20 years and sold it: super regret right after. Anyway once you become accustomed to something i.e. the paddle style mag release on the HK, it becomes second nature. I had never owned a Glock but became intimately familiar with it while enrolled in an executive protection school, which consisted of two wonderfully intense and grueling days on the range doing realistic practical drill shooting, and in a converted office building, with students firing "simunition" at one another. Verdict.....damn fine weapon! It will one day be in my collection. That being said, the very next semi-auto I buy will be an HK VP9. I just miss the hell out of the ergonomics, the accuracy and quality.
Glock used to be the best gun out there. Now there are some pretty amazing competitors in the mix. The PPQ, VP9, and the P320 immediately come to mind. Glock has drank their own kool-aid for far too long with the whole "Glock Perfection". I think people want innovation, options, customizable features that actually come with the gun, not aftermarket. Glock refuses to change with the customer bases tastes. Update the grip angle and the grips for Christ's sake, meld some of that blockiness off the slide, and maybe offer different configurations ala S&W's Performance Center and CORE options. Just my $.02
I think the ergos are going to be the primary seller. After 10 years and many thousands of rounds on glock 9's I'm interested in giving the VP9 a run.
the trigger is also pretty awesome, I might re do this video some day, it was my first video ever and sometimes I cringe watching it lol

The vp9 doesn't pass the torture test. The glock is a better "combat" firearm and the vp9 is a slightly better range gun. Both are fine. I agree with the above.

Sorry for my honest comments,but I feel you are a longtime glock fanboy as my father was a long time 1911 fan, but the glock is outdated and they rely on the consumer to upgrade their gun. The VP9 is superior in every way you don't need after market parts for the VP9 but you do for glock .Wake up demand more from glock if not 1984 technology is all we will get from them for our money.

+John Linton Sold my VP9. It just wasn't as reliable and well made feeling as other HK's I've owned in the past. I feel bad that I sold my P30 to get one. I still have a Glock 17 Gen 4 that I feel shoots better and has fed a better variety of ammunition for me. Maybe not as comfortable to grip, but I think the Glock is the better pistol over the VP9 although I also feel that HK overall makes excellent firearms with their USP, HK45, and P30 lines. As for the sights, I'd rather have Glock stock sights than the VP9 stock sights simply because I hate ramped sights. They are not good for one handed manipulation drills. That said, I'd still swap the stock sights on either for a set of quality 2 dot night sights like Warren Tacticals. YMMV.

I did the same comparison today. VP9 vs my glock 17 and my ruger 9E. While the VP9 was very accurate, I could shoot it as well as my other two pistols. The VP9 had much more recoil. Two other guys agreed with me as well. And they didn't own glocks or rugers. They were shooting nice 1911s. So it wasn't just me. To each their own. VP9 is a nice pistol, just not my cup of tea..
I only have a CZ75B, Glock 17, and VP9 to compare but surprisingly the VP9 had much sharper recoil compared to the Glock 17. The CZ isn't even fair to compare, it was like shooting a .22. I don't know why the VP9 recoiled more than the G17, but it was across all ammo types and brands. I still shot the VP9 amazingly well. At the end of the day I feel like the Glock is still king
I prefer a striker fired over a hammer fired pistol. But those CZs are magical!! If I was gonna buy a SA/DA pistol it would be a CZ. Its like they recoil in slow motion is the only way I can describe it. They are outstanding.
Well, CZ's frame has longer rails . Poly guns tend to have that rolling recoil.

Both guns are European yet you say HK has a European-style mag release... I don't understand why a bunch of americans tend to say that... Beretta is also European, Sig-Sauer too and they don't have it, even Russian pistols have the "regular" style mag release... HK has HK style mag release
The red head reviews guy is not as good at shooting as another gun channel guy that looks like him. Firecracker effect at the end is cool.keep at it and you’ll eventually get the ammo and guns coming in to review ..you’ll get better. Buying your own bullets is the main difference. Were all at a disadvantage.regular paycheck to paycheck people.Financial priorities dictate how much you can afford to practice without debt. I’m not selling any guns about it but I am only shooting my carry gun these days. Do do some 22 plinking and splurge on a little 357 for my favorite gun now & then. The VP 9 is better than the Glock 19 especially in a mag dump event due to the lighter trigger 😭 especially if the HK has been used
