    Im curious what sector you cover and what bank you are in. if you don't want to say the specific name, would you mind sharing if its bulge bracket, middle market, boutique? And the pros and cons of working at one versus the other. could be a good video idea. if you've talked about it before and I just missed it, the link would be great! Love the videos Bryan: )

    Bryan were you naturally really strong at math ? Meaning able to not have to study for too long before tests or to understand newer complex concepts like logs in precalculus?
    Do you ever do funny sh*t where you feel like you had a "dull" moment?
    Asking because I'm interested in pursuing Finance for my Major. I can get good grades in subjects like Math with hard work but I know I make 1. Silly mistakes here n there and 2. Can be a bit slow to self teach myself concepts. I tend to be a bit thick headed from time to time as well.

    • @TheBryanJun
      @TheBryanJun  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think the better answer to your question is that unless you're looking to become a quant, most of finance does not require you to overly talented in math. None of what we do is really rocket science and with enough reps, I think anyone who is decently smart and diligent can do everything.

    Hey man awesome channel! I'm a 3rd year econ student at UCSD and my original goal was to go to law school and become a lawyer but I'm 2nd guessing whether I actually want to do that or not and have been really gearing more toward working in finance, primarily investment banking. I don't have an internship lined up for the summer yet and I think the pandemic is going to hurt my chances of even landing one. How screwed am I? and should I just continue to pursue the law degree (I've already prepped for the lsat and am taking it in june no matter what just to keep my options open) or an mba and try to get a job in finance after? I've already prepped for the lsat and am taking it in june no matter what just to keep my options open. Only problem is a lot of mba programs wan't prior work experience in a related field. Also a disclaimer I started school late in life so I'm 29 right now. I just want to hurry up and start making money asap lol.

    • @TheBryanJun
      @TheBryanJun  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say your best bet into investment banking is the MBA route and joining as an associate. Most, if not all, internships for IB after junior year probably have their summer analyst class set already (some of them probably have next years' set as well...) I wouldn't disregard the law track either tho - in a way they're very similar roles (in terms of hours, compensation, etc.), just depends on what your interests are.

    Why nations fail is one of my favourite books, makes much more sense then Jaimie Diamond's theory. Any research by Acemoglu is high quality.
