    Thanks Paul for sharing your knowledge and experience. With so many brands and products it gives a good starting point to someone like me who's new on the bream scene.

    Thanks Paul love your vids
    I’ve been using pro power bite motion in 5lb and find that great for casting and bite detection

      Thanks Daryl! The Power Pro braids have been around and highly regarded for many years. Great braid 👍🏻

    Great vid Paul. I'm fresh out of Unitika Aiger and wanting to get some 8lb, 11lb and struggling to find supply. Where's your go to mate? Cheers

      Ah mate. The sad story of late 2021. Apparently Frogleys struggled to get in touch with Unitika for months now and have been unable to order any more stock. I’ve looked everywhere and could only find some 17/20 which I snapped up and thankfully had a few spools of 6 and a few spools of 8 left myself… tough times 🥲🥲

      @@PaulMalovFishing yeh very. If I can't get any 11lb I'll settle for FC ROCK 10lb. Cheers.

    Great video mate. I really love the unitika bream Jr braid for some reason just like the way it feels while fishing. Did just get some 0.6 Gosen braid yesterday though that I'm keen to try out this weekend 😁 and put straight fluro on my flats rod so will be interesting to see how that goes since only used to using braid 🤔

    • @garryknox1614
      @garryknox1614 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I also love the Unitika Bream Jr it feels very thin and casts a mile, but I also noticed the Gosen 16 and it could be a game changer (if anyone can afford it).

    • @PaulMalovFishing
      @PaulMalovFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks gents! I've heard good things about the Bream Jr braid previously too. The 0.6PE Gosen is a little thin for my liking, think the .8 is easier to manage and get less wind knots. Interested to hear how you go with the straight through and whether you like it!
      Garry - a little pricey agreed, but the 16lb Gosen Casting should be sensational. I'm looking forward to trying it soon!

    Another super vlog Paul. My go to is the Gosen 14lb on my Bream gear and the 20lb for Mulloway. Yamatoyo Chinu Harris Fighter for the Fluro 4-10lb on Bream and FC Rock 10 - 20lb for the Mulloway

    another great video paul, have you tried out sunline V-hard leader? next line for me is either the toray sea bass or ygk g-soul x8 upgrade as i find im getting too many wind knots and guide wraps with my sunline super pe 4Lb

    • @alexfranchuk9608
      @alexfranchuk9608 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've heard a lot of good feedback on Toray.
      4lb Sunline is too thin, so I'd go 6lb at least in this brand.
      My preferred braid these days is Varivas.

    • @PaulMalovFishing
      @PaulMalovFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Bryce! I’ve use the V-hard before for leaders and found it to be quite hard on the hardness scale and actually prefer a slightly softer leader (as per video), but having said that I still have a spool of it that I use from time to time, it’s a proven line!
      Yeah mate we always used to have issues with the Super PE even in 6lb, had to go up to 8 to slow down those wind knots. The Sea Bass is a killer like in comparison

    Hey Paul, do you think that unitika aorika ii beats most of the new braids on the market today?

    • @PaulMalovFishing
      @PaulMalovFishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Alex, no I think there’s far better on the market these days but I still rate it as a good quality, reliable, thin braid - if you can pick it up for a good price, it’s worth grabbing.

    That Leader to Braid knots are you using? I really struggle with the FG but a double uni can sometimes get me out of trouble on the water.

    • @PaulMalovFishing
      @PaulMalovFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi mate. I’m using the double Uni myself.
      6-8 turns on the braid and 3 turns on the heavy leader (have used it upto 17lb and locked drags) and 4 turns on the light keeps me out of trouble with the double. More turns than that and it gets really bulky. I’ve found this holds up

    Have you used the unitika aorika 2 in 14lb?
    Want to give it a run for snapper in the bay on a 2500 reel 6kg stick flicking plastics on the edges of the shallow reefs. A little on the light side? Cheers Paul

    Very informative video mate, thank you.
    Just wondering what your thoughts are on siglon pex8?
    I don’t remember if you commented on it.
    Cheers

    • @PaulMalovFishing
      @PaulMalovFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Azz, the Siglon PE X8 has been good. I've used it on a few reels now, but it's thicker than some of the other lines that i mention in the video. I had it on the 2 baitcasters and i still have it on one of the 2004 Exists on my Bass Freak. It ties good knots, casts well, but a little thicker than others.

    Hi Paul. Really enjoying your videos. This one is great as I have struggled with Braid to Mono or Fluro. I just bought Zerek Hy-Braid Translucent hybrid 8lb for all my light rods like my Abu Garcia salty fighter 2-4kg with a BlackMax 30 series reel. I have not used this braid before. Do you have an opinion on this one? Also, what do you think of the Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon for my leader line?

    • @PaulMalovFishing
      @PaulMalovFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Wayne, appreciate it mate! It’s not one I’ve come across before to be honest. I’ve googled it and it sounds interesting, not sure how they’ve managed to keep visibility good above water but make it more invisible under water 🤷🏻‍♂️😄 but I don’t think you should have any issues there!
      The Berkley Vanish fluoro has been around for years and years and is a very solid, dependable line

    Paul are you using the mono straight through,or you using a certain length as a leader tied to your braid, for surface lures
