    Question : How to do you get the summary of grandchildren. So if the parent has children and those children become parents in another
    master detail relationship with more children of their own, then how does the grand parent master get the count etc of the grandchildren.
    Does rollup over rollup work ?

    • @revanthkumar6735
      @revanthkumar6735 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@revanthkumar6735 the answer is yes, but there is a limit on the depth. I think it is 4 - "don't quote me on it"

    Here we are rolling up different rows in one fields for master record. What if, we have to add different columns in roll-up summary ? How can we do that ? let's take an example. There is a master record of Student data, and there is child record for their marks. There are 3 subjects associated with each student. So we store 3 marks for each student. If I want to get total of all marks scored by each student, how can we do that ? Please guide. Thanks

    Hi, i need to know what is the technology backend and front end of Salesforce Lightning?

    • @sachinrnayak3420
      @sachinrnayak3420 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi fatma,
      Javascript is the primary language for front-end development on the Salesforce Lightning Platform. The platform's primary frontend framework and component library, Lightning Web Components, are built with core Web Components that run natively in the browser.
      For server-side development, Salesforce app developers use Apex, a strongly typed object-oriented programming language with syntax similar to Java. Apex code is stored in the format of classes and triggers. Salesforce also has its own data management language SOQL, which is similar to SQL.

      Just create a roll-up summary field on the grand-parent object which will roll-up the field values of Bank account records.

    Shrey , please let me know If there is formula field then why we need the rollup summary field.

    • @sachinrnayak3420
      @sachinrnayak3420 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rahul,
      A Rollup Summary field is used to calculate the sum of a fields in the child object record. It is compulsory to be in a Master-Detail relationship to use the rollup summary. A rollup summary field is always created on Master record.(Parent to Child).
      Example. You have an Account and multiple Contacts under that Account. Each of the Contact have a number field on it say Contacted People. Now on the Account you can create a Rollup summary to check the Number of Contacted People via all your contacts.
      Where else a formula field is mostly used for calculations with in a certain object. And it is child to Parent .

    Loved your video buddy, Is it possible to do this without creating a field? I want to COUNT the number of child records and execute a automated process. Can this be achieved without a field?

    • @sachinrnayak3420
      @sachinrnayak3420 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without a field you cannot achieve this. If you want the count and get the output there must be a field difined to display the result. So there must be a field.

  • @naderhabib91

    What can we do to see the count Function ???
