It's really cute how the carving also gives the effect of wrinkles not on the stamped ink but on the stamp itself. Kind of like looking into their happy future together. :)
I did this in art class in middle and high school. In middle school we used Sharpie on vinyl erasers, and high school we used lino tiles that had a speckled grey surface to make the uncut areas easier to see. I wouldn't have thought of just smudging on graphite though. Simple and smart!
Lino art is one my favorite underrated art forms. It’s so unique and leaves SO MUCH room for creativity. Whether it’s making a stamp, or simply an illustration while making use of the lines made by carving it, it’s always a blast whenever I get the chance to do it
This is really cool! The stamp looks so clean and precise. You sell yourself well. I think you're super skilled and i hope your business is super successful!
I was thinking that. I thought they'd carved wrinkles onto the stamp, but when they stamped it and there were no wrinkles, and they showed the stamp under the photo I thought "aw that's nice, they get to see themselves young and what they look like if they grow old together 😊" I hope they get to keep the stamp with the photo
This is very cool and it's the first time I have seen anyone illustrating rubber stamps. My grandmother probably would have been your best customer if she was still alive. She loved rubber stamps and always decorated her greeting cards with them.
This could be a great updated version of the traditional address stamps since we don’t send as much mail, are more likely to move and there aren’t as many situations where you want people to know your address.
(rather, my mom or one of my aunts would've wanted to surprise them with this for their 50th 🥹 honestly I'M considering the idea on their posthumous behalf???)
The stamps look so good and goes to i love how the little carving that arnt technically part of the deisgn end up looking little wrinkles like it's the couple in the future aftwr a long life together
wait omg. smudging the graphite on it so u know where to carve is so smart
I've seen an artist paint red on it too, more vibrant as well
it really is!

The rubber stamp itself looks horrifying, but the ink stamp look absolutely fantastic!! Amazing job!
omg it never occured to me to smudge some of the graphite so you could have a better idea of what parts need carving! really neat trick!
