this is nostalgia to me as a Latino. My dad is Salvadoran, and wore this all the time when I was growing up. Later on is when I found out how popular this scent was in the Miami scene of the 80s. I married my Dominican wife, and heard "Los Diseñadores" and it referenced this cologne. I didn't know how popular it was amongst Latinos. It's so nostalgic to me, and I'll always have a bottle on deck because it's a compliment maker till this day.

      My dad is Mexican.
He always wore this and I grew to love it. I remember when I was little and he would cover me up with his coat when I fell asleep and I loved the lingering scent of Paco Rabanne Pour Homme. I have a bottle of my own for the exact same reason as you; Nostalgia.

Paco Rabanne PH was my only fragrance from the 80's up until the pandemic. Had never heard the term signature scent but it certainly was mine. It was the Swiss army knife of versatility for me. In 2020 I jumped down the rabbit hole of fragrances sitting at home during Covid. I should have just stuck with PRPH. I would have more money in the bank and more room on my dresser. Plus I think PRPH is about as discontinue-proof as it gets.

  • @justaddlight

The vintage aftershave is a stunning fragrance. So damn smooth and not as "spikey" as the current stuff. But along with Azzaro Pour Homme and Polo, it's a staple golden oldie.

@@stephaniefeliciano2752 I actually traded several fragrances with a friend for it, but it's the same 125 mL that an ebay seller has for $44.90. My juice colour is a little lighter though. FragranceX and PerfumeOnline currently have the newer stuff. Can't vouch for how the newer formulations smell, but I can vouch for both sites. They only deal in authentic products, but FragX has catfished me before, displaying a picture of the vintage stuff and sending me the current formulation. I would say be cautious of their vintage pictures. Good Luck.

One of my all time favorites and have been wearing it since the early 1980s. Could you explain about the new larger logo on the new bottles? Some places have the older smaller design and this that you have. Has there been a recent reformulation or just a restyled logo?

The Vintage bottles have the smaller letters PR.--Much smaller than the bigger PR on the bottle in this video. I took a chance just a few months ago, and bought a Vintage bottle that was still factory sealed. Unfortunately, I lost my "gamble" and it was spoiled and unwearable. I had a bottle in the 80s, but I didn't think the latest version would be near as good as my old version. Maybe I'll blind buy today's version someday. 😊

IFRA restrictions on oakmoss really wiped out its once legendary performance, but the current formulation at least does smell quite like the scent I remember.
It strikes me as soapier these days, but so does Drakkar Noir - and I think that's largely because they've been around so long that new and unique notes to my youthful nose aren't so new any more.

    • @Redolessence
